- Leaving Ushuaia onboard a Hurtigruten Ship, crossing the Drake Passage and taking a look around the ship.
Getting info about excursions and finding out what the onboard lottery is.
High on my bucket list was a trip to Antartica and I was looking at going with Hurtigruten. But if you can't get of the ship due to everything being a lottery I'll have to reconsider. Thank you for highlighting that

Wow... you travel all that way...pay a huge amount and there is no guarantee of going on excursions.... silent auctions ..... I've changed my mind ... I will not book this cruise... no way!!!!!!

Man, I feel sad for you, the company should be more transparent as this is for many a once in a lifetime trip. I also booked with Hurtigruten on the Roald Amundsen and going next year. Fingers crossed. Thanks for the video brother

Yes it was. After spending so much money myself to even be there and then to do silent auctions I believe was terrible
Great video. So disappointing. What an absolute con having a silent auction for activities. Just another revenue raiser for Hurtigruten.
It really was such a kick in the gut. Yep I honest;y still believe it was revenue for them as a tax dodge for them.
Oh this is when I was sooo angry. They know that this is a once in a lifetime trip. The least they could do is be completely transparent about the number of spots for kayaking or camping and that it's a lottery. I was crying with you. But the pure joy you have when you see land is infectious. Thank you for sharing your adventure. Xxx

So you pay a fortune for this and activities are not guaranteed. There are other companies; Lindblad, Ponant, Viking, Hapag.
Because of your heart break I subscribed and I’m not going to cruise with them . I started crying .

It was meant to be such a good trip, don’t get me wrong, it was great, but yes lots of cons etc. oh well, onwards and upwards x
This is so disheartening...I go in Feb on Silversea and if I'm told I can't kayak I'm going to have a fit... it's supposed to be all inclusive. Now I have to watch the other parts of your videos to see what happened
I might see you in February! Silversea told us that unless weather is horrible, we would all get to kayak at least once. All excursions are free. We are departing Feb 2, but my SIL is travelling the cruise after us. We couldn’t get the same weeks off work. 😢. The only thing extra is equipment rental (we only need the boots because we have everything and we don’t want to take up all that space in our suitcase with our own boots), spa treatments (no thanks) and one restaurant (again, no thanks). H was cheaper to book but when when I costed out all the excursions etc SilverSea was the much better deal.
Thank you for sharing this once in a lifetime experience. As one who is also alone i can feel the anxiety and pain of being left out and fighting for recognition for a party one one. Thank you for sharing something I'll never see with my own eyes

We had no intentions of camping or kayaking so wasn’t a problem for us, but friends on the same cruise were very put out about the kayaking and camping and the auction system, they really should be more clear on that because it sucked.
Glad you enjoyed the trip as much as we did.

Hi, it was a great trip, sadly the auction and the system was really a huge let down. Looking back now, I’d love to go again, knowing what I do now. Just don’t go with high expectations from the excursions part and it really is a great trip. Xxxx

Wow that’s incredible! Non stop travel to get home from when we left took me 74 hours not including the sleep in the hotel. 10 days there will be amazing! You’re gonna get to see and do so much!!! Make sure you make videos and share ❤

I hope you get another chance to do this and do all the things you wanted to do.
Maybe look into another ship like Ponant? Hurtigrutten is a bucket list for me but I think I might look elsewhere.

I thought the Hurtigruten expedition cruises had shore excursions without additional cost. Did you not leave the ship at all?
Most of the upscale ships do have shore excursions included. But some do have an extra cost.
ALL stops are subject to cancellation due to ice flows, snow storms, or captains discretion.
Because cry baby boy chose a lower priced trip, he did not get to do a lot of things. To do these trips “right” are very expensive. Our trip was fantastic but we also spent $30,000+. So go cheap and see little.
They do hiking to shore for free weather permitting but the extras such as photography or kayaking is paid excursions
Vegan shampoo had no Idea they resorted to eating shampoo now.
