Hope you enjoy this deep dive tour of a fantastic vintage rig! Would you invest in this RV? What would you change? Are you a current or former Chinook owner? Leave a comment, we'd love to hear from you! And be sure to check out the companion blog post at odometerdave.com/chinook-class-b-rv-tour-and-review/
The dinette ( or settee) next to the big side window is a Primary reason I want a chinook. It is also the feature we love most in our Davlin-Lance camper. What is nicer than sitting next to the window with your coffee or your meal, the one you love, and that great big picture window ! this give you two twin beds with an aisle..and the port ( driver side) berth also pulls out. Best .
My Dad had a 77 when they were on the back of a toyota pick up truck! I was a little kid but I LOVED that camper!!! This one is really nice, thanks for the upload!
I'm 6'0" and I live full time in my Chinook. No problem with the shower for me. I actually really like it. I can shower for 20 minutes and make a steam shower in there.
for the cutting board maybe pull up then pull out? I had a drawer in an RV to which I had to angrily pull up towards the ceiling then pull out, why is anybody's guess lol. I would place mats over carpet or if you replace with wood floors u will need throw rugs as the wind when its cold makes the coach freezing without the carpet air just comes right up from the floor. no isolation whatsoever under Rv's... Does this RV have levelers? I would assume not but
Yeah, I tried everything I could think of with that cutting board. And good call on the carpet as insulation! Definitely no levelers/stabilizing jacks on this Chinook. Thanks for watching & commenting! - Dave
Mine had the two opposing sofas I removed the sofa from the passenger side and built a 6 foot long cabinet which gives me tons of counter space and lots of storage underneath and then I took the bed and I made a slide out so it’s as wide as it was before. I also removed the carpet and installed a vynal plank floor ..people put notes on it who want to buy it 😱although i bought a larger rv i cant bear to part with my chinook
What a great idea, Steve, to build that cabinet! Hope you like the vinyl floor, I think I'd do the same thing. Do you have pictures or video of your Chinook online somewhere? - And thanks for watching and commenting - Dave
@@OdometerDave Hi Dave, I"d be happpy to send you lots of pictures of what i did. I love it. plenty of storage. I keep my Jackery in the cabinet, (I love the jackery)
It was a pain all weekend. Reinforced our desire for an RV with a dedicated bed that we don't have to make up every night and break down every morning. Thanks for watching and commenting! - Dave
Hi Chrissy, send me an email [dave at odometerdave dot com] and I'll forward it to the owner. They did have someone express interest last month, but I'm not sure whether a sale happened yet. Thanks for watching, and hope to know more soon!
Just heard from the owner and she's definitely interested in selling the Chinook. Send me an email and I'll connect you. (I don't want to put her email address out in public here on UA-cam.) Thanks! - Dave
@@qtip919 Hi Joey, I believe it’s still available, yes. Please use the contact form on my site to email me, and I’ll connect you with the owner: odometerdave.com/contact/

Nice look at a newer chinook...with layout unchanged from 1972 ! And that is a good thing.

That’s one of our favorite things, too: morning coffee at the dinette watching the campground wake up. Thanks for watching and commenting, Captain!

Oh man, I’ve only seen pictures of those, would love to see one in person. Thanks so much for sharing that and for watching, Erik!!!
Your analyses of this RV is detailed and comprehensive. If we were shopping for an RV we would do well to take many notes. Happy New Year!!
Thank you, Alice! I sometimes think about you driving an RV on the AlCan with your kids years ago!
Good tour. Thank you. Have a blessed day.
Thank you, Gail, and thanks for subscribing... we have another video coming very soon!

That’s great to know, thank you! I wish I’d actually been able to try showering, but we didn’t have gas for hot water.
Great tour, Dave! You and MT need to come up and do a rehab episode on ours 😉
I completely agree!
I would love to see your '90's Chinook Concourse rehab!
First: Arkansas free solar is a lie.
Chinook still makes some of the best, most easily repairable RVs on the marketZ
I have a 98 i love it 🤠 I can’t get the cutting board out either😱
Haha, maybe it's a "feature" that the cutting board doesn't slide out and fly across the cabin!
