Actually, even if they didn't use some filters, good lightning will blurring skin texture in front of camera at some distance. So it looks flawless af. If they did this close, it will show the textures like normally our eyes see..

Tbh, douyin makeup looks like a kind of makeup that only looks good in photo/video (with filter adjustments). Because it's supposed to be 'bold' to enhance the facial features. I personally don't want to use this type of makeup since it looks too heavy on the face, except I have a special occasion. Even if I want to use it on a daily basis, it needs to be adjusted to be more natural.
You're right. I have a college mate who wears this type of make-up. It looks like she has a white coast on her face, and you literally can see every pore even though without make-up, her skin looks good. In real life, it will look good only with the right foundation color and if it's more lightweight.

face, hand and neck skintones all naturally dont match. but after make up, you should make sure not to make the change noticeable, for example this person using a shade a lot lighter than their natural tone. thats why you should also apply the product on the neck, so that they match

although some videos are filtered/edited, douyin makeup won’t be cakey if done correctly. skin texture is natural and should not be a reason for embarrassment. also, douyin make up can be done matching your natural skin tone. no need to make yourself lighter.

Yes all (or most of them) videos of influencers and makeup artist have filters. Our skin has texture,pores,hair,pigmentation and it's totally normal.
