Buddha never said don't follow others teachings. He said just practise Dharma any situation with full reasoning. Buddha never spread the religion. He spread the law of karma which is Universal Law which explain why there is suffering and how to end it. He told everybody that he achieved Buddhahood because of practising Dharma. Everybody can achieve it if u practise Dharma. He never said don't follow others. That's very misleading statement.

Buddha was a Hindu by birth.
The fact is that his entire Gautama clan of royalty embraced Buddhism during his life time itself & became his followers as monks, including his father, aunty,wife, son ( mother died within few days of his birth ) princes,many cousins & all other immediate relatives.
But, Buddhism was opposed to most core ideas of Hinduism.
Buddha emphatically denied the existence of Creator - God who would have created this world & who would be controlling our life course.
He said that all gods were like devas but powerless & for specific time of their life. All of them attained such positions by their karmic deeds. They would all be dead & born again as per their Karma. We the human beings too can attain those positions by virtue of our good karma.
Secondly, Buddha proved beyond any doubt the non existence of the so the called Permanent Athma within all creatures including human beings.
But,he agreed on two ideas of Hinduism i.e Karma & rebirth.
The most outstanding difference between these two religions is that Hinduism entreated all human beings to worship gods for their own salvation.
Buddha clearly differed saying that every individual's life is based on their past karma & it is guided in present life by their thought process.
Only by way of cleansing their thoughts & actions, one could attain salvation i.e one has to attain salvation by oneself & cannot be done by invoking an outside power.
Saying this Buddha said that there was no static Athma i.e permanent athma in all creatures including man but only an evolving athma which keeps changing all the time according to individual's thoughts & present thinking process.
Though what is said here is the actual cause of Buddha's death ( Nirvana) .
Buddha himself predicted his Maha Parinirvana ( death ) 3 months earlier itself & confided this in his chief Assistant Ananda himself.
Not only that Buddha had chosen his place of Maha pari Nirvana @ Kushi nagar in U.P with a specific purpose & a reason that all earlier Buddhas ( there were 6 more) had attained Mahapari Nirvana only @ Kushinagar itself.
There were 6 preceeding Buddhas as confirmed by the present day Buddha.
He also clearly told his disciples that the next Buddha's name would be Maitreya Buddha.
Besides, Buddha also confirmed that He, in one of his earlier births, was born as a powerful King who ruled much of the world with Kushinagar ( place of his Mahapari Nirvana) as his capital.
It is to be noted that all three important incidents in his life happened only on a specific day that is on Full moon day in May - His birth, Enlightenment & Mahaparinirvana.

So inorder to avoid this conflict and to protect his family Buddha became a monk, and leaved the country.
This is the real story of Buddha. He then tried jainism but it didn't work so he founded his own path.
He preached Anathi and Anathma which is against reincarnation and soul. So what mordern Buddhism teaching is a lie. Buddha hated war to the extent that he was ready to sacrifice all pleasure to save his family and people. And he traveled many places to preach love.

Eating pork or bacteria infected mushroom was only an enabling reason. His Parinibbanna was predetermined by Him for some more reasons.
Buddha's birth, Enlightenment & Parinibbanna - all the three happened on Full moon day.
Further, Gowthama Buddha was not the first Buddha . He was 6th or 7th Buddha in the pantheon of Buddhas.
All his preceding Buddhas attained Parinibbanna at this same place near Gorakhpur U.P.in India .
He even mentioned His succeeding Buddha's name as Mythreya Buddha.
Buddha is not a name . It means Enlightened. His exposition of life is highly incisive & totally truthful. It requires strong fundamental knowledge of life without which it is difficult to understand the truth He had expounded on life.
Buddhism is a revolutionary religion totally different from others.
1. When all founders had claimed that they are incarnation of God, Buddha emphatically declared that he was a man but an Enlightened man.
2. He declared that there was no fixed athma within creatures.
3. Further, he said that there is no creator who gave us birth or who is guiding our destiny. Our life is guided only by our Karma & present day thoughts & actions.
Even Albert Einstein was attracted by what Buddha had said about life. Many scientists & Nobel laureates have found that whatever Buddha said have been scientifically proved true.
Buddhism is different from some of its individual followers just like Hinduism & other religions are different from their individual followers.
