Even though there are some gameplay issues, the plot for this game is an absolute masterpiece - both for the base game and the Mr. Freeze DLC.

It's the reason why it's my favorite out of the 4 . Arkham knight was a visual masterpiece , arkham origins was a plot masterpiece and arkham asylum was original, eerie, and fascinating .
Arkham city was my least favorite out of the 4.

Imagine if Batman didn't feel so righteous to jump and save Joker, even though he didn't have to by his own rules. How many lives would have been saved, especially given everything Joker did from this point on was to get Batman's attention.
When Batman risked his life to save a serial killer, the Joker knew he was as crazy as he is.

Plot armor . If a batman could exist in real life Even w the stats that he has in the games/movies , he'd be a killer at least in some situations . He'd have to be or he'd die . Not to mention some of the things he does would kill men anyway. If a heavy weight world champion ufc fighter punched me in the face as hard as he could he'd probably kill me and that's without titanium Kevlar gloves or cutting edge performance enhancers . ( think somebody like Francis ngannou) batman isn't as big as Francis but strength wise he is- Not to mention when you knock or choke somebody out they don't stay out until you finish the mission . They wake up in a few seconds to a few minutes TOPS - edit : to sound an alarm or create disruption . Not to mention suplexing guys through mahogany tabels or on concrete floor or throwing them through windows .....like c'mon man . People would die from that shit .

@@Pepespizzeria1 Nah that was only their second interaction and the first one didn't yield anything which could even remotely make Batman feel responsible for Joker. They didn't have any history together at that point.
*Unpopular Opinion* this was the best Arkham game story-wise.. Batman actually had an arc and changed as a character from the course of the beginning to end. The other games were basically a night in the life of Batman as he stopped some villains.. Arkham Asylum is still my favourite game of them all tho.
If this game was made by rocksteady and with the same voice actors from Arkham city/asylum such as Mark Hamill’s joker and Kevin Conroy’s Batman to name a few, this game would’ve been the best of the Arkham series
@@elpiton9699 Nah the voice acting was fine - and The Rocksteady stories weren't always all that good tbh - especially with Knight.
@El Negro there was no issues with the voice acting... there were small bugs and issues with how smooth the game was, other than that, it was a great game. Better than Knight.
Peoples nostalgia gets in the way of judgement sometimes, the voice acting was brilliant in this game and the story arc was incredible. Arkham City is far and away the best game but Origins is nowhere near as far off knight and asylum as people say it is
@@niceone1332 yeah Roger Craig Smith did an amazing job. If they rebooted the Arkham Series or made another Batman series I wouldn’t mind if Roger was Batman, Conroy will always be the GOAT but he’s been the go-to Batman for 30yrs & I think some other guys should get the chance to fill the cowl.
Arkham origins had it problem but the soundtrack , the Christmas theme to the game was on point

@@GodOfCasuls I think you idea might become true because Matt Reeves already said he wants to use Mr. Freeze, and in The Batman's whole marketing campaign and in the movie itself the red colour is the main element to represent Batman; given how blue is the opposite of red it's very likely that's gonna be the main colour used in The Batman 2.

Damn this game is massively underrated. I remember this was the very first Arkham game I played, and the memories still hold up. The story, as many people said in the comments, is one of if not the best. I definitely appreciate Arkham Knight for how good it was and its replayability to this day, but there was something about Origins that was just comforting, charming, and way more exciting for me. Could be nostalgia talking but still
Yeah same this was my introduction into the Arkham Series and I still consider it one of my favorites at least story wise. Even though I think the other ones do somethings better this one always stands out to me.
Arkham city was my first Arkham game and I loved it but when I played origins for the first time hoooolllly, in my opinion it captures the fear factor the best out of all the games

@@frogglen6350 they're far more dynamic and interesting than Rocksteady's cinematics pre-Knight. those were quite literally just "shot reverse shot" most of the time, and not very inspired visually.

God this game is so good. Every cinematic of the game is gorgeous (the cinematic after piecing together all the clues at Sionis' safehouse remains a favorite). My favorite Arkham story, easily my favorite Arkham game atmosphere. I also love that it really highlights that Joker is criminally sophisticated and meeting batman actually makes him crazier

The fact that the first time Joker finds out/experiences the no kill rule he gets unbelievably pissed off is such a golden spark for his amusement down the road. It shows he never really did find it funny or amusing no matter how often he played it that way. He was always just pissed about it.

Yeah. People tend underrate Origins. But I loved it too, much more than the other Arkham games. Origins tone is more grounded, the character design is more realistic, and cooler, and the bossfights are good in this game.

You know what I've been thinking lately, I think that they should make a Superman game I mean they made a Batman game out of this what's to say they can't make a Superman game.
No studio wants to take the risk to handle Superman in a video game because he is op as all hell of course. How would you handle super flight super strength super speed and all his powers? Batman is a human which is why he has such a focus in video games. If the Wonder Woman game that is currently under development does all these things well and sells well we might eventually get a Superman game but i doubt it cuz i cant see how they can actually pull off a good Superman game in the levels of Batman games epicness and do the superhero justice.

I truly believe the moment Batman saved Joker is where he truly started to hate him. Before that, Batman was just a nuisance to his plans, but when Batman saved him (a psychotic maniac), he realised that Batman was his natural antithesis. His polar opposite.
Saving him is so dumb imo he's just gonna kill more people. Batman has a rule to not kill but that doesn't mean he HAS to jump off a building to save the Joker.
@@shadoka9409 100% agree. Batman always says: If you kill a killer, the number of killers in the world stays the same. Which is a very stupid philosophy considering what he does on a daily basis. Because he doesn't just deal with one killer. Practically every one of his enemies are killers, and most of them are serial killers. So if he kills all of them, the number goes down quite a bit and not just that, the number of innocent people who will be saved grows immensely.

I've been replaying AO lately and it's just so fucking good. Diehard fans of DC and the Arkham series will always have their complaints, but this felt like the quintessential Batman game to me.
when diehard fans complain about something, it's almost always a mark of quality. AO is no exception, it's easily the most underrated of the Arkham series

I honestly think Arkham Origins is unfairly treated. It is treated like it doesn't deserve to be an Arkham game and is excluded from remasters, when there are clearly some story links to it, the series is weaker for not including it, and trying to obscure it. I also think that instead of making Gotham Knights which kind of sucks, instead of having a massive gap, when Rocksteady finished up, WB's team should have immediately started working on a sequel to Origins, starring the younger cast.
