    Amazing content! Love the automated granulators. Really looking forward to the refinery setup and seeing the heat used and not just deleted! I usually end up deleting heat with power and wheezworts as i put in my refinery before i can do much with the heat. I don't like losing half my metal in the granulators but at least with your setup it is so simple to manage. amazing amazing setup

    Insulated tile on your leaky oil fissure in the oil biome will keep it from melting the cold biome, and in my experience the vents shut themselves off from overpressure long before they will break any tile type.
    also an algae terrarium will suck up all your co2 from the chlorine trap and the oxygen it produces will just float out until the co2 is consumed and you disable/remove it (seems like the easiest fix??)
    i'm not even waiting for you to do it i'm going to go make a closed loop petroleum cooling setup for my metal refineries that use steam turbine for cooling immediately!!!

    Hey Brothgar, don't forget that you can literally get the most of the natural gas geyser using a punch of wheezeroots virtically above the geyser through a tunnel, i learned it on your channel and it was so much useful, i was able to stack more than 40k kg of natural gas and having even more and more comming as time pass. i also did it for the hydrogen geyser, i wonder what should i do with it tho, maybe launch a rocket?

    Brothgar The funny thing is, I already tryed to use the refinery to heat-up water already, around the time the it has been added, and also I've used oil in the end (I tryed water-cooling it ;) , but after enough of continuos usage it keept beaking the pipes, even though the flow rate was at the very least 700g/s, more like 1400g/s, and maybe even at 10kg/s, and water entering the machine was at ~33°C, I'm not sure about values since that was a long time ago), and it feelt like having a less powerfull, "manual" liquid tempediser that had customisable footprint, and that was only 1 of them; but things propably changed since then, since around the same time I were using naptha to freeze CO2 and/or O2 to compress them, because I've had too much of them, and back then naptha had the freezing point of -300°C (it essentialy was supercoolant) and that was kinda broken.
    And if it is still as good, it will be kina OP with the steam turbine, providing you have enough metals to refine at once, and thermaly insulate the steam from getting too cold, when not in use. And it would be even more OP if you would loop it with a mod that reverses the process.
    What happens when you cool down/heat up liquids in a liquid storage tank or cool down gases in a gas storage tank? Do they freeze/boil/condense outside the tank, without damaging the container itself (providing it's not overheating)? That would be simmilar to what happens with solids in storage containers.
    On the other hand, that might be a better way to transfer heat from one fluid to another (in a gradual/more stable way), either without spilling fluids or not using radiant pipes to do it.

  • @PashaGamingYT

    I keep the starting shoes and add no one else. If someone dies, just LOAD a SAVE. I make sure they’re all diver’s lungs and at some point I make sure they all get deeper diver’s lungs. That’s just 75g of oxygen per second! Also, when they’re not breathing, they don’t consume anymore oxygen whenever they recover their breath afterwards! This means you can ration oxygen/ have an oxygen room with nothing else inside so that they come there to recover their breath whenever they run out, then get back to work again! Of course, this would be inefficient, since the dupes would have to travel there and back all the time and also dangerous. So don’t.

  • @dragonheart9965
    @dragonheart9965 5 років тому

    Why not have a low priority storage to hold any overflow? So the sensing containers get filled first, and the overflow gets emptied first. Or does the prioritization not quite work that way?

  • @SergioPolimante

    hey, Brothgar, you cold do a farmer challenge where all the refinery possible would come from animals!

  • @atomlight5568
    @atomlight5568 5 років тому

    oh i can do the same and automate refrigerators, i like to put a single refrigerator beside mess tables so my dups don't travle so long, also put one at the kitchen for ingredients to make it easier and faster to cook.
    oh also i used shine bugs to power my kitchen using solar panel, first you make a ranch for them, second you let them bread, then you let them out of the ranch everytime they exceed 8 critters so they can bread more, after you reach a good number of them you open up one or two tiles and build a lure next to solar panel, then boom you have free power

    Followed the instructions twice, and Dupes still make metal even when storage full as they just drop it on ground. :s

      @Hobble. 5 років тому

      I see what was missing or I missed. Anyone having the same problem should finish connecting power to the smart storage, not just half way down like I saw in the video.

  • @justinsweeney6528
    @justinsweeney6528 5 років тому

    Couldn't you use another memory toggle on the power to the smart storage to keep it on when not full and then pulse it only when empty?

    • @justinsweeney6528
      @justinsweeney6528 5 років тому

      @@brothgar agreed, but that would be a way to avoid the run off, plus with your unlimited power that you'll be building why does 60w scare you?

    • @justinsweeney6528
      @justinsweeney6528 5 років тому

      Of course no disrespect, I just see the trade off of power as something that would make it more efficient, that being said I essentially work in automation for a living so I try to find anything to automate I can.
      What if you set it up so that it's on whenever there is room in the bins but you also only allowed it to run during a specific time during the day, sort of a hybrid of what I originally suggested and what you have now

    • @mrShift_0044
      @mrShift_0044 5 років тому

      Some cool dude, he mention in the video is already cover that in his automation setup, and there is options: you can save more power but less metal via this "timer check lag" or you can have more correct system BUT you need to run smart storage more = more consumed energy.
      So solve this equation to yourself, what are you want: more power efficient or metal efficient ?

    • @justinsweeney6528
      @justinsweeney6528 5 років тому

      @@mrShift_0044 I don't disagree, but i feel like with that sour gas boiler system he will make, power will be to brothgar as money was to John hammond's, they spared no expense

    • @mrShift_0044
      @mrShift_0044 5 років тому

      well it's his chose. i personally would prefer every half minute loop and auto sweeping system and that's more than enough to pretty efficiently run this setup even with super fast megadupes

  • @justinwhite2725
    @justinwhite2725 5 років тому

    Instead of a memory toggle and a clock ticker why not just st use a not gate? Run them when it’s not full and stop when it’s full? Edit: okay I’m guessing you are doing it to save power so that the smart storage isn’t constantly draining power. Good idea.
