That was my role in my house growing up 😂 my older sister and younger brothers would come to me anytime there was even a fly in their room and have me kill it! For some reason over the last year I’ve developed a fear of spiders and my 2 indoor cats are useless as one is a scaredy cat and the other just want to make friends with any spider or bug that that finds its way inside 😂

I honestly think that Matt waking up 10 seconds before that all happened with Chris was a like brotherly instinct because for example, with mothers and their newborns the mother sometimes will wake up a few seconds before the newborn starts crying so I literally think that it was just a natural protective instinct.

Why am I getting emotional abt Chris’ sleep paralysis, Matt sounds like such a caring sweet brother, Chris telling about his dreams & imaginative mind reminds me of me
I love how Matt was there next to him to comfort him letting him know he is okay. It’s a terrifying experience and to have someone next to you telling you your okay and it was just a dream is very reassuring. I’ve always been alone when mine occur and it feels like it lasts for hours. I just love the bond between Chris and Matt as well as the bond all 3 share, it’s very special and I gotta say this is by far my favourite podcast😊

@@solangeknight yeah totally! He’s also said it in past videos that he doesn’t like sleeping alone. It for sure is a twin/triplet thing especially when they’re together 24/7. Matt and Chris have never been apart for more than 18 hrs and it wasn’t till recently that Nick would stay in LA while Chris and Matt were in Boston or Chicago . Plus they shared a bedroom for more than half their lives before they had seperate rooms so makes sense Chris hates being alone in his room or sleep by himself. My younger brothers are twins and they shared a room till they were 9 or 10 when my parents transformed a deck into a bedroom for one of them so they had their own rooms. My brothers though they are identical and very close they didn’t always do things together and they both travelled to other countries without eachother and haven’t lived near eachother for many many years and ar now both married living in different countries from one another. What nick Chris, and Matt have is extremely special and rare.
@@solangeknight as someone who’s single and lives alone, I can’t sleep unless both of my cats are on my bed with me and sleeping between my knees. Nights that they’re sleeping in the living room I’m either awake all night, having nightmares or fucked up dreams, or a sleep paralysis episode. I find sometimes listening to guided meditation as I’m trying to fall asleep helps but sometimes I still can’t sleep.

I haven’t dream until it was about procrastinating on my traffic school course, was blowing it off and could’ve lost my license🥲I immediately did it that day, then got it all take care of. Dreams really are a window to your subconscious, listen to them
I really don’t think this is true, some people just don’t dream as often, I’ve always had very vivid dreams and sleep paralysis, even through some very dark times.
I don’t struggle with anxiety or depression and I have maybe 3 dreams I remember a year, I think it’s just different to everyone

I used to have really bad sleep paralysis when I was in 6-7th grade. It was the worst, and the most brutal nightmares too. I used to have a lot of nightmares of my family being brutally murdered and myself being murdered. Terrified of it coming back😅😭

I remember wondering if I actually see my room when I’m in a sleep paralysis episode or I made it up but I looked at my tv and realized I actually do see my room so I have weird stories but I can never find anyone who has sleep paralysis to talk about it they’ll think I’m lying
@@Mrs.pinkalicious that’s so weird! My episodes are always terrifying and I usually get them when I’m sleep deprived, really stressed out or very anxious about something. I hate sleeping but as long as my cats are on my bed with me between my knees I can avoid the episodes or nightmares in general. I started having sleep paralysis when I was about 5 yrs old and I’ll wake up with dried tears on my cheeks.

I was having CRAZY dreams and thought I was losing my mind. I finally mentioned it to a doctor friend and he said oh, you just can't eat late. Try not eating anything 2-3 hours before you go to bed. I thought, this dude is wacked in the head. Turns out, some people can't eat or even drink anything close to bedtime because the body will focus on digestion instead of sleeping so you can have dreams so realistic and they seem to usually be bad dreams. Another buddy was at my house and said, I am hungry but can't eat, will have nightmares all night if I eat. I was like damn! It isn't just me.
The fact that Matt’s immediate reaction was to help him and pull him close and hold him, melts my heart. I love the relationship these guys have. ❤❤

they were in my dream once like last week and it just made me think how weird it must be to know you are present in so many people’s dreams..
"REM rebound" is when you go to sleep and immediately enter in to REM sleep. This occurs when your sleep has consistently been interrupted before you reach the REM stage. My hunch is that since Chris's sleep was consistently interrupted before reaching the REM stage due to tour, travel, and weird sleeping locations and times, once he finally got home, he immediately entered REM stage and had that nightmare and sleep paralysis. (i just had a psychology lecture on this and thought i'd share)
This episodes had me sobbing because of Chris's sleep paralysis , I've never felt more connected to Chriss then now and it's because we are both very creative people and our dreams are both always about death the thing is I don't have death dreams anymore I use to get them alot when I was like 8 or 9 . Moving on to the whole sleep paralysis thing what so scary for me is that I can have sleep paralysis either way like on my back or on my side and it would happen when I really tired or just out of nowhere which is really scary for a 14 year old . I thought it was really sweet how matt pulled him close and started comforting him ❤

This is going to be a long explanation type thing but watching this video explains a lot about dreams to me. Like throughout the video during 30:26 Nick Matt and Chris were taking about how dreams looked different for all of them. Chris saw and lived his dream through a creative and almost like a directors stand point. Matt saw things from a very literal standpoint and very logical ex: if something was weird in his dream and didn’t align with reality he would wake up. Nick saw things from a producers stand point, he sees things from everyone’s point of view and the overall picture. Nick in real life is the same way he knows the cause and effects of everyone’s actions saying things like “we’re going to get demonetized” or “ this will get us a ton of views”. Chris is a very creative and imaginative person who lives in the moment and who’s thoughts are constantly rambling, his dreams are the same way being very sparatic and “crazy”. Matt is a very easy going but logical person if someone says something dumb he’ll call u out and be straight upfront about it. If he realizes something doesn’t make sense he’ll find the solution (in his dreams his body wakes him up). Anyway I just thought it was really cool how our dreams relate to our thoughts and even personalities. It’s crazy to think how intricate and cool our brains are.

actually one of my biggest fears is having sleep paralysis like fr it sounds so scary
ive never had sleep paralysis but ive had dreams where i had sleep paralysis IN my dream and i like couldn’t move and or do anything about the situation, its so scary
it's terrifying, I have episodes every couple months, the worst is when I get the hallucinations of a dark figure ontop of me pinning me down or standing in the doorway
it's the worst 😭 I've had it twice now and not being able to move or get up is the scariest thing but what makes it worst is if you see something. the first time i ever had it I saw two red glowing eyes in the corner of my room and ofc it's the corner of my room that i don't like for some reason so that made it way worse😂😭. the second time I didn't want to see anything again so i literally shut my eyes until i could move again.
Chris, if you put a bowl of chestnuts in the corners of your room and by the door to outside it will prevent spiders from coming in as they hate chestnuts, worked like a charm when I lived in a basement suite. Also peppermint oil and citrus oil also are great big repellants!!!

dude sleep paralysis is so terrifying i’ve had it before and i thought i was fr dead 😭 my mom was waking me up and i wanted to tell her i was awake and move but i couldn’t and i tried to speak but i couldn’t i could see her but couldn’t communicate. most terrifying thing ever

I’m taking psychology right now and we learned about dreaming and the parts of your brain and REM sleep, but it’s all so crazy, fascinating, but scary at the same time.
THIS IS SO CRAZY BECAUSE CHRIS LITERALLY JUST DESCIRBED WHAT MY DREAMS ARE LIKE. I CAN CONTROL EVERYTHING I DO IN MY DREAMS JUST LIKE LOCKING DOORS AND IVE HAD SLEEP PARALISIS A COUPLE OF TIMES AND ITS THE SCARIEST THING EVER.
It's called lucid dreaming. You can search that up if you don't know about that. It's like you are dreaming and you know it and can control your dreams.

nah but when matt reenacted the sound he heard chris making i honestly felt so bad, it sounded like he was having a full blown panic attack. and then when he turned around shaking and asked "am i awake now?" i cant take it

@elskulena depends on the person but on average this is the case. Don't think there's any known reason but my best guess is due to comfort or lack of comfort leading to awareness. For me I almost always get it when I'm laying on my stomach or when my face is obstructed by something for example. Aside from that though most of my experience with sleep paralysis is positive
