Hi Sarah, Greetings from the San Francisco Bay Area. Enjoyed your posting, loved what you have made for yourself. Your garments have turned out well, they have a great fit, and are stylish too, so I like watching UA-cam posters who have a skill level I can enjoy and watch while I sew or knit in my sewing room. Since you travel for work you have the opportunity to visit the fabric centers from different parts of the world to build your stash. I had that same opportunity during my work career in the 90s thru 2010. I figured since most US fabric stores have gone crafty and fabrics they stock are definitely at the bottom of the quality spectrum, I should buy fabrics for future projects. I'm not psychic but not going to lie.....glad I built my stash to enjoy in my retirement. I'm doing that now and so glad I can stretch my creative wings out to use stuff from my collection. What a joy to have this hobby!!!!! Love your wedding plans and look forward to seeing your dress and how it looks on you. You are so fortunate to have a friend to help you design it. She can make sure the fit is perfect. Have fun during the process. Thank you for sharing.😘 Carrie
How exciting! Please don’t get sick! So you can take us along on your wedding plans. Will be waiting to see all the content after your wedding! Love your videos😊
Congratulations. How exciting. Having looked at how lovely all your other me mades have turned out your dress is going to beautiful . Enjoy your travels
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I’ve been married for a long time now but I still love watching videos about people making their own wedding dresses 😊
Your coat is amazing! Best wishes for a beautiful wedding. I know it will be perfect. I have been sewing on and off for 70 years and love to see others take an interest in the craft. The item I have made that I was the most proud of was a christening dress for you grandchildren. I took lessons on heirloom sewing to get me through the process. I still use the things I learned in the classes. I still use the method to embellish lingerie.
Thank you! Those christening dresses must have been such a joy to sew, and so interesting. I would so love to take an heirloom sewing class. I've seen the linens my future mother-in-law has from her mother and they're so beautiful. I'll keep an eye out for one, maybe it'll come back into practice!
Thank you for sharing so much with us, lots of content here. I enjoyed watching your creative video, I liked how you blended images of your town, it gives a nice perspective. Congratulations on your wedding and don’t worry, we’ll be patiently waiting for your reveals. Please stay healthy, enjoy the journey and keep stress at bay.
Aw, congrats on your upcoming wedding. I also made my own wedding dress 24 years ago and it was such a proud project and very special. Good luck, you will do fine, I am sure
I really enjoy your videos, partly because I love sewing and partly because I love France! I'm looking forward to all your projects for the wedding. I am sure you will look beautiful in all of them.
Congratulations on your big news! What an exciting year 2023 will be for you.I'm definitely wishing you all the best, easiest and successful sewing on all your wonderful projects!
Congratulations! I love your enthusiasm. Your videos are a pleasure to watch and I can’t wait to watch your wedding/sewing process. Also excited to see any content about your travels + fabric you may pick up during your trips☺️. Enjoy!
Congratulations!! 🎉🎊🥂 I just finished making a wedding dress for someone (along with 2 others in the wedding party) so I know how intense it's going to be. But with what you've made so far, you'll do great!! Keep that knitting handy to de-stress! 😊
I'm excited to share it! And I feel so lucky to have found Camille - it has been fascinating to get an inside look at her process! I have met the most amazing artisans in the preparation of this wedding, it is already such an enriching experience 😊
Sarah so glad you are giving us an insight! It all sounds so wonderful and I am so glad your family will all be there. Your Mom is getting excited!! Your are taking on so much but I have faith that you will pull it all off ❤️
Congratulations to you both! You have a big year ahead of you. I really love your style and enjoy your videos. I look forward to any that you release but those coming this year will be an even bigger treat! All the best with your preparations.
That's really interesting you learned to knit after learning to sew clothes. I learned to knit and crochet first, then picked up sewing clothes years later. All the stuff you've made in 2022 are very pretty
Can't wait to see how the dress comes out! I think the idea of someone who knows what they are doing helping with mockups and then helping with instructions is an amazing idea!
That’s wonderful and exciting news Sarah! I wish you the best in all of your preparations, especially the sewing. You’re a talented seamstress and I’m sure your garments will be beautiful.I look forward to seeing more. Thank you!
Exciting indeed!! I’m new to your channel and this big project is very interesting. You’re right, there’s not much content about it on socials. I’ll be waiting for those videos patiently 😊
Thank you... I'm so inspired. In the past 8 years I have barely moved past looking at clothing patterns and I have so much fabric waiting ...I decided that 2023 is the year to rediscover and improve my sewjo specifically for clothes. Now I have found the perfect videos for inspiration. Wishing you both the very best for 2023 and beyond ❤️
All the very best for an wonderful 2023! I look forward to watching your videos documenting the proce ss of making your wedding dress and other wedding outfits 😊
Love your videos Sarah, you always make me smile. Can't wait to follow along with all of your projects and to hear more about all the wedding planning - sounds so exciting! 💕
I've just run across your channel today. Wow, you are going to be very busy. Congratulations to you and your fiance on your upcoming wedding. I'm really looking forward to seeing your videos. You did a great job on your knitting project - I might look into that pattern. The sauvie dress looks adorable and your coat is absolutely amazing. I'll be interested to hear what material you've used on the Clarke top you're wearing. It has a very nice shimmer. Again, Congratulations and best wishes for your wedding and wedding plans. I'm sure you'll do a lovely job on your wedding dress. Just don't panic, it'll be fine.
Omg congratulations on the big news!! 🤗 I cannot wait to see your journey to your wedding dress! So funny, we also got married basically on the day of our 10 year anniversary, now 5 years ago, also an international wedding and even though I didn’t make my wedding dress I made the rehearsal dinner dress out of a special satinized silk and I will cherish the experience, the dress and the memories forever!! Love your other projects too and your plans seem great, I also need/want to get into making a bathing suit and a silky-lacy nightgown, so please keep sharing your experiences!! I can relate so much to your work travels too, I used to LOVE my internatioal work trips and also tried to combine it with a few days off to explore and get a special piece of fabric as a memory 😊 I wish you all the best with everything this new year will bring, but most of all, pure happiness!! 🥰take care 😍
Thank you for your message! It must have been such a cool experience working with that silk for your wedding! I will definitely be going fabric shopping in both Taipei and Tokyo - I do love bringing back a little bit of fabric as a souvenir 😊 Happy new year to you too!
Sarah, congratulations! Wanted to tell you about Tokyo’s fabric town. It is streets and streets of fabric shops. Please enjoy your trips this year. Fabric can be expensive here but bargains abound in Tokyo Fabric Town!
Just found your channel. Happy to become a new subscriber. Looking forward to watching your videos.😃 Also, congrats on your upcoming wedding. I can’t wait to watch you make your wedding dress. So exciting!
Congrats on the engagement and best wishes for the year! A chateau wedding sounds like an absolute dream. Particularly excited for the jeans, would love to hear a review of the fit and pattern! One thing though - speaking as a Mandarin speaker - hearing you pronounce Taipei gave me a bit of whiplash 😅 Taipei should be pronounced more like *tie-pay* _[Tie like hair tie, pay like paying cash; with a slight upward intonation on ‘tai’ like you’re asking a question. In Mandarin pinyin it is _*_Tai Bei_*_ (bay), but for some reason it’s been Romanised this way.]_ Do take advantage of the street food while you’re there, Taipei is one of the best places for street food that won’t make you sick lol
Hello and thank you so much! Silly me, I was pronouncing it the French way since I work in French and I've gotten used to pronouncing it that way at work. That said, it sounds like the French pronunciation isn't very accurate either! I appreciate your note and I'll keep it in mind especially when I'm speaking English. I'm so excited to try the street food in Taipei, I've been reading all about it! Is there a dish or dessert in particular you'd recommend? I'll definitely be making those jeans in the new year (probably after the wedding), so keep an eye out for the review! I wish you all the best in 2023 as well!
@@Sarah_Naomi if i had to recommend one thing it would be 葱油饼 (spring onion pancakes) - hot and fresh with an egg is The Best breakfast. But it’s good at any time during the day. The other main recommendations would be beef noodle soup, which is not exclusively Taiwanese but they do it really well. Then there’s 卤肉饭 (loo-rou-fan) which is hard to explain, but it’s basically pork belly and meat stewed in sauce and eaten over rice, and if it’s done right it should melt in your mouth… it’s basically the first thing I associate with Taiwanese food. In the night markets you’ll find all sorts of interesting fried meats and seafood (skip all the fruits if you don’t want stomach issues), but the beef cubes are also worth trying! And of course Taiwan does great tea so you should take the opportunity to drink All The Milk Tea - the boba balls there are also fresh so their texture is *chef kiss*. I think I had milk tea or brown sugar milk every single day when I visited, and I’m saying this as someone who lives in an asian city with tons of milk tea/boba shops😅
@@saint-miscreant Thank you so much for all these recommendations! I've been reading up on Taiwanese delicacies and I will definitely be trying all three you've mentioned, especially the savory breakfast foods! I love milk tea too and I cannot wait 😊
I’ve just stumbled across your channel and am enchanted. I knit more than I sew (and congratulations on your knits this year! For a complete beginner you have managed beautiful sweaters! Obviously a natural 😃), but I do aspire to return to sewing more this year. I find your makes very inspiring. I am years away from managing a coat (exquisite!) or a bathing suit (tres chic!), but I would like to try a couple of dresses (have previously only made tunics and skirts with elastic waists… no pockets, no zips….). Congratulations also on your upcoming nuptials, your dress making process sounds fascinating! If you ever managed to find the time, I’d be interested to know what machine you have, if it is what you started off with, or did you upgrade? You mentioned a few videos back you’d be making one on essential sewing items… maybe you could mention it there? That would be interesting for me. I look forward to seeing more of what you do! Take care!
Thank you so much! My first machine was a basic Janome 19JAGREEN NE (I'm not sure if it's still on the market), and now I sew with a Janome Skyline S5. I haven't tried out a lot of different brands, so I can't say it's the best, but I'm very happy with Janome. I hope that helps! And I'll talk about my machines in more details when I get to that essential sewing tools video 😊
I just found your channel and I'm really excited about your content! A few years back, I helped a close friend to make her dress (a very ambitious project, she's the kind of gal who shoots for the stars 🤣). It was intense but I learnt so much! She and I were the only silly ones who didn't cry when she entered the church, but did cry when she put on the dress because we had worked so hard on it 😭🤪 Wishing you luck and a great wedding! Now I'm off to watch your past videos
Happy New Year and what an exciting year you have ahead. Congratulations. Your plans sound magical for your wedding. Can’t wait to follow along with you this year. Love your videos. Do you watch Sarah @superbailles sews? She is lovely and also getting married in the Autumn and making her dress and wedding wardrobe. X

I could never wear that dress because I am not slim like you...I would look like a lovely blue potato. so sad.
I’m not sure how long you have been in France but based on your fashion and demeanor I thought you were French 😅 English isn’t my first language so I was wondering why you sounded American since most of my French friends speak with a slightly British accent. I spent the video thinking “wow she didn’t make x or y common mistake, she must have lived abroad” hahaha
