I’ve spent nearly two years in existential depression unable to work, in isolation after listening to Tony Parsons, Jim Newman, Kenneth Madden. Didn’t realize until a few months ago that I now have a nihilistic view of the world. Unfortunately I feel very stuck unable to see through it. Also started listening to speakers that say you have to heal your trauma and feel everything you didn’t feel as a child in order to “wake up”. Feeling so stuck with that as well. Haven’t listened to you for a long time Emerson. I appreciate your pointers of “between” they’ve unearthed a clarity I seemed to have forgotten about with all the adopted beliefs of no self and nothing to do. Thank you.
Melissa. It's time to stop trying to get something from Nonduality. It won't deliver what you think it will. Nonduality is good for dispelling a lot of misconceptions, but every teacher puts their own interpretation on it, and it becomes misleading. STOP. What's is in front of you, right now, without thinking about it.... Disappointing isn't it. 'You' wanted something else. Well that's the 'you', you need to ignore. It's just a thought. It won't go away, but you can stop entertaining it.
@@StuartJ Thank you Stuart. Absolutely hijacked by thought/belief and concepts once again. Been feeling the strong desire to walk away from non-duality for a while now. Just let what is be whatever it is, raw and unfiltered. 🙏🏻
@@melissarose749 the depression won't necessarily go away. But there can be a sense of relief in dropping the seeking. It's time to be authentic. If your body wants to be depressed, let it be. Don't push it away, but don't entertain it either. I found Douglas Hardings headless way helpful to remember your everything and nothing at center.
Your depression has nothing to do with the message. Tony says there is just what apparently happens. This doesn't consider the individual at all. Sometimes, they say there is no individual... just words in the context of a dialog. There appears a impression of an individual, that's all, there never is a "real" individual, a being with free will and choice. Emerson says the "me" is just a collection of thoughts. Is there a difference? No, it's the same message with a different words. This doesn't deny the individual. There is no individual to be denied. Depression happens, so what? Doesn't matter. It just apparently matters for the impression "it's my Depression". These messages don't want to make your life good, enjoyable... they point out you never had a life. Is this nihilistic? No. To be nihilistic, there has to be someone who is this. It's a position a someone has to take. There is no "me" needed to have goals, to be loving kind, to look a trees and be completely blown away by the beauty of it. It can of course also be the case that a person takes on nihilistic, stoic traits. That doesn't contradict it. There are simply no rules.
feeling contracted energy = feeling separation however if there is no separation, then there can be no contracted energy; yet the body may still sense 🎉❤
I was listening to a speaker the other day about Contracted Energy. What he said that it's a misunderstanding... This "Energy" is the energetic feeling that wells up and normally labelled as fear or anxiety. It's simply a rejection, or a pulling back from what's appearing to happen, a Contraction or recoil. ** That's what Contracted Energy actually means, nothing to do with energy transferring or some kind of aura/energetic field around you.
for me personally returning to see speakers at retreats allows the camaraderie to be with like minded people who can speak about the illusion without fear of criticism ❤
Some of these "radical" speakers as you named them, say it has nothing to do with words. Mostly, the one who feels "I'm here" trys to understand this. Trys to understand it has nothing to do with understanding. Yeah and it can be a trap. Until it's "heard". - "Okay, now i have to wait until i hear it." - its futile. We apparently communicate with words, made up words, concepts. These speakers only can share a concept and can directly pointing out it has nothing to do with the concept, that words are completely empty, that the words, the concept is already what is pointed out. The apparent pointing out is already blindly itself... just another empty appearance

@@RobbeyT1 i think it's entirely psychosomatic. Your body reflects whatever is going on in the mind. Once I "got this", the body relaxed.

Will this help with my brain tumor?
You seem to be waiting for "something" or "someone" to take over what you perceive and label as a problem. I can asure you, this wont happen.
@@vanleen How you mean? I simply cause my brain tumor to be relevant?
