Fantastic recording Salop box for nostalgia before its history 😢 Hopefully Crewe heritage centre can recover some of the fixtures and fittings 👍🏻

White/Blue and White/Black levers, former FPL/ Point levers worked to maintain locking? Those Fletcher blocks have seen some sterling service judging by the state of the woodwork.

@@SpoonyMcSpoonface yes, when you don’t want to remove the locking due to complexity/time available or cost but wish to take the equipment out of service so even though the equipment is not there the locking still is in the frame
Dinting was another example. Went from Mechanical points and fpls to motor points, the fpl lever still was kept and used so even though the motor point did all the work
You had to set the non existent fpl lever to clear a route

damn, that box is gone now, wonder how long Severn bridge Junctions box will survive, replacing that will be a task, also sad when it happens, not the topic but its sort of relevant, right?

@@The_Grand_Autismo1 it’s an important question, listed or not the underlying keep of structures still continues and with limited access it’s ability to serve visitors is not helpful
