When you hear it like this, it really makes you appreciate that the composers were basically writing a new timeless classical piece. Everyone always plays the pieces Segovia did, but very few are writing their own in that same style. At least that I am aware of. Those composers are the gift that keeps giving. Very excellent rendition and performance of this modern classical gem.

This was the last song a friend and I shared before he passed. We spent all summer one year playing SoTN many years ago. Thank you for this. It is beautiful, and it meant a lot to both of us.
@@SamGriffinGuitar sam I sent you a message on facebook. It's a video of your arrangement of outset island played by myself. Was wondering if you could give me some pointers. I'm leaning this one right now.
It's been about a year now, had to step away from learning this I wasn't skilled enough at the time. But after learning several other arrangements of several different songs from you I can finally play this. And it's SO FUN Thanks again
I am quickly falling in love with this channel. Have been a fan of Super Guitar Bros for years, and now your solo channel is coming out with the same quality content. Every time either channel uploads my day gets instantly better. Thank you, Sam, for spreading the word of music and clearly showing that one man can play something as beautiful as a whole symphony could.
i agree with this, loved super guitar bros for years. as soon as this channel was announced, i had to sub right away. really great to see the more frequent uploads and quality covers
Once again Sam... you've absolutely killed it on the strings- taking music from our childhood that has been so overlooked by most for years and making these brilliant pieces shine once again also while catching the ear of people who otherwise wouldn't have known of their existence. Thank you so much for your work and posting here for all to enjoy! You really are a rare talent:)
Man, your good. You know Castlevania SOTN is one of my favorite PS1 games in the early 2000's, I even recorded the soundtrack way back when I unlocked it in the Librarian's menu. I jacked the red and white audio of the PS1 cable on to my cassette with a red and white port and recorded the soundtrack on a tape. That's why I'll never forget SOTN's music. I might say your guitar rendition of the Long Library's music (Wood Carving Partita) is flawless. Kudos dude!
You should be the first person on UA-cam to teach how to transform a piece of video game music into an original acoustic composition. I have tried for years and I can't seem to figure it out. I can hear all the notes but I do not know how to play them in a such a way that they sound good acoustically. Especially on one single guitar.
I lost count back when I was playing it on PS1 the year after it came out lol I have it for my Xbone now and I have 6 cleared files and I just started a new one the other day. I adore SoTN. Probably my favorite run is the punch only run (with the obvious exception of the Holy Rod for that specific encounter, for all of my veterans out there. Just didn't wanna spoil which one exactly for any that don't know about it). It makes so many of the later bosses much more difficult, especially Galamoth. Early bosses are an absolute joke regardless of strategy though. I just love the atmosphere and music so much.
Just finished the game for the first time, when I entered the library I was like : Where the hell did I heard this song? Here it is! Very impressive Sam. My personal 2022 objective.
More Castlevania SOTN, Chrono Cross, and Final Fantasy VIII(8)! Lol this and super guitar bros are probably my favorite channels on UA-cam definitely top 3. You guys are amazing.
Dude, the only thing I def HATE about this video is the fact that I can hit the "like" button just once, no matter how many times I've seen it! Awesome work! Thanks for making UA-cam a brighter and rewarding experience with your guitar👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
“But young master, I cannot aid in one who opposes the master...” “You won’t go unrewarded.” “Really??? In that case, just tell me what you need!” “I’m interested in this...” “HEHE THANK YOU!”
Such a vague offer and yet the librarian sells out immediately. That's when you know the guy running that castle has been acting like a massive douche.
This is amazing. To the thumbs downs, stop being jealous you can't do this. Maybe take that negative energy, turn it into positive, and accomplish something like this person has. On a positive note I noticed something that I might have forgotten about this song. The breakdown section or perhaps chorus sounds like something from Castlevania 3 I believe @ 1:09. Good stuff. Thanks for posting that good sir.
Are you directly linking into my brain to decide which songs to pick? I think I may have to become a patron now for these tabulatures. You still amaze me with how you learn these pieces by ear and are able to transpose them to a different key to make it (slightly) easier to play on your instrument. Also, I like your location choice.. excellent library you have there.
Fucking magnificent! Actually made me cry a bit because my older brother passed from cancer and symphony of the night was the first game I watched him play every step of the way and the soundtrack is near and dear to me along with legend of Zelda oot
I've been playing the guitar for almost 25 years. And this piece right here makes me want to cry. I simply can't play this, not because of technical difficulty, I could sit down and practice and play very technical and difficult pieces, I'd say maybe somewhere between 8 and 12 weeks if I gave 3 hours a day to it with Sundays to digest and process. But no, sadly, I can't play these particular pieces because of one reason, I have too short reach between pinky and index finger. Hurts the soul knowing ones absolute limitations sometimes. Still, this was a gorgeous cover. Well done, Sam Griffin. Well done.
I think a shorter scale guitar is a great idea. I too am having an incredibly hard time making these reaches. In the last year though I have stretched my reach from 1st to 5th to just BARELY being able to pull have 1st to 6th. I've been played 15 years at this point and was surprised i could still make new physical changes this many years into playing

Brooooo Sam how do you play like thatt. It's so cool how you can play the bass Harmony and Melody at the same time with one hand. You should definitely keep playing guitar and being awesommmmeeeee.

never had noticed how the pedal section starting on 1:09 nods so heavily to the Bloody Tears intro, great stuff
That was amazing. Playing a classical orchestra piece on a guitar! The Master Librarian would be proud.
