Much like your entire comics? DOA because you can't compete with marvel or DC and I'm going to compare you to wrestling promotions that try and compete with WWE: it doesn't work with hard core fans... your fan base will be much like Impact wrestling fan base... a small crowd. "Competition" lmao gtfo old man
@@ezyahcreates7438 lol wow you are bitter
@@ezyahcreates7438 Ethan Van Sciver has been doing well with his own comics and he's not apart of Marvel or DC.
“Promoting” Falcon to Captain America kind of proves that Marvel doesn’t respect his character. They think of Falcon as lesser character than Captain America and they think this is better than just giving Falcon more depth and support.
I’m glad that we have creators like you. I’m a 23 year old artist and you’ve inspired me to create my own stories. I hope your series becomes bigger than these hacks.
Bingo, they don’t like Falcon for who he is so they try to make him Cap instead.
Falcon sucks they had to do something lol
@@htownboss6422 He was good and original
@@SnipingIsFun No he wasn't lol
@Knox2Don I will do as I please boy
Back in the '80s, the supposed "Dark Days of Reagan", black characters were better written, better represented and just better overall as they were written as distinct PEOPLE, just like their white counterparts. You had Black Panther, Storm, Blade, Luke Cage, Cloak, Sunspot, James Rhodes, Monica Rambeau, and yes, the FALCON, and all were their own well-written, fully fleshed out characters.
Today, in the "enlightened world" (lol) they're all the same: "America bad, white people bad, I'm oppressed, police are evil, all black people are friends who know each other etc." and it's just tiresome for the millionth time.
Not to mention spawn
While I do agree with those other characters that you mentioned can anyone name anything that the falcon has done over the years that's even remotely remarkable?
I'm pretty sure He's basically just Steve rogers sidekick
@@derrickcrawford1081 yeah agreed falcons pretty lackluster he's the same as hawkeye in the way he is just a guy with a bow, hes just a guy who flies
What are you talking about? Lets not get ahead of ourselves I don't like tokenization but a lot of the male black characters in the 80s were terrible.
Black Panther, Photon, Storm, Static Shock and Spawn are perfect examples for why BLM pandering fail...
They are COHERENT by their own.
When people talk about captain America, they don’t ask “which one?”. Enough said, Steve is captain America. Imagine that. “My favorite superhero is Spider-Man. Oh which one?”.🤦♂️
There is only one.
Spiderverse
@@GenryuSaito spiderverse is trash
D-duh.
@@GenryuSaito dunno why they keep trying to praise Spiderverse. It was $#¡+ty and mediocre.
Why not call him Commander Falcon instead and give him a revamped version of his old suit, it would be better than giving him the hand me downs of a another character.
Because people like Captain America way better than they do falcon.
I mean can anyone name any remarkable thing that the falcon has done over the years?
@@derrickcrawford1081 not his fault, marvel is talentless. Giving wilson the shield doesn't change that. Stolen glory.
@@derrickcrawford1081 To be fair to Falcon, he hasn't done anything remarkable within the last few years because hack writers are solely focused on the color of his skin. They can't have him do anything remarkable because they have to play identity politic bingo all over the pages of their comics.
@@olli8426 it's because the character sucks
Triying to be other is not real Pride.
my issue with Falcon becoming Captain America is the same issue I had with Nightwing taking on the mantle. It's a regression of the character. They've both had worked hard to carve out their own identity (Dick Grayson especially, it's where most of his adolescent angst went towards) and them being consumed by the identity of another hero makes it feel like they were cementing their unique alter egos as less than the ones they were taking up.
Same, ppl saying "its cuz he is black" and im like "no is not"...
I followed all the Ed Brubaker Captain America Run, and i liked Bucky but even me, a 10 years Old kid, knew that on any moment Steve will return, cuz he is Captain America, and he did it on Captain America Rebirth.
Same with Dick Grayson being Batman, even he watched Bruce is The Batman cuz its too connected to how destroyed is Bruce Psichologically...so he is better on Nightwing.
Robin is the only mantle thats fine because it's only a stepping stone
Exactly. Someone gets it. In the old days people always say be yourself. Carve your own identity and stand on your own. Not these days that's all toss out for being second rate identity characters. No matter how much anyone says it. When you think Captain America you think Steve Rogers first no matter period. That's a fact.
I didn’t like Nightwing becoming Batman either. I guess you could say that certain criminals and villains are scared shitless of Batman, and will surrender almost immediately when they see him. This makes sense because it’s more about upholding a symbol of fear toward crime in Gotham. I just think Nightwing was so cool when he got his own brand. Some people started to like him even more than the Dark Knight himself (myself included, but that’s just subjective opinion).
@@fw420 You’re right. Tim became Red Robin, Jason became Red Hood, and Damian became . . . even more annoying Damian. I think he was referring to Nightwing becoming Batman, though.
Marvel: goes woke

I have mine, he is an astronaut, he is kinda like Doomslayer or Master Chief or Samus: Space armor and weapons, defeating creatures, etc...
I called him the Worldwalker.
Accept it, Marvel... Only Steve Rogers is Captain America, The one Who fought on WW2, The one Who lead the Avengers, The one Who defeated Red Skull, Baron Zemo, The Serpent Society, The one Who was against IronMan on the Superhuman Registration Act, The one Who punched Hitler on his face...
That is the Captain America.
Captain Falcon bored Rippa so much, he decided to catch up on some much needed sleep.
It is pretty clear to me, that the goal in all this is to keep racism alive. As a white male gen X, I can say that I grew up, and have since taught my kids, that race doesn’t matter actions do. Skin color is as relevant as height or shoe size.
'Racism' is kept alive by the state, race grifters, and politicians. Without it, these groups/individuals' revenue stream would cease to be.
Back when I was in college, had a friend who was a Trump supporter. During one of our classes he got called racist for being open about it. Stood up for him and got myself called a racist and Nazi. These weirdos need racism alive to continue have a righteous fight.
Critical thinking is too hard and they can't realize the world isn't racist and the failures of people usually boil down to their own decisions.
"im gonna be competing against these guys soon" considering that manga loses more from piracy than from dc/marvel comic sales i think youll be fine lmao.
Why can't we just have Falcon he's a good character in his own right.
Marvel: Nope
Falcon was always a shitty background character. He always sucked
@@HiddenHandMedia it's because they're untalented and can't build characters.
because they're untalented and don't understand how to build characters - the shitty excuse of they're not famous characters is trash as manga churns out and builds characters regularly.
@@HiddenHandMedia see this is why you guys who are more openly racist caused all these changes. So now I appreciate Sam Wilson as Captain America
Marvel is losing its legitimate fans in droves my brother and I both lifelong fans of many different marvel superheroes have pretty much walked away from all the series... The agenda that marvel and Disney pushes is one of hate and they claim to be against it but everything they claim to be against is exactly what they are and what they do..
Lmao sure whatever.
We know damn well bucky deserve to be Captain America because he knew Steve longer and has just combat experience and leadership as him , they stay taking black characters we like and making them the black version of shit , this like if the DBZ manga took Uub and made him the Indian Goku
Stop it. Who was actually raving about Falcon, when was he ever trending or popular ?! He was actually a token in Winter soldier. And in movies like Ant man, saying stuff like “it’s very important cap don’t find out about this” many only cover tokenism when it’s suits their narrative. Tokenism is not race swapping. Tokenism by definition is adding a black or minority character to not appear racist. Tokens usually are comic relief(Tyrese in fast movies) or characters that have minimal speaking lines. People can hate race swapping but it’s not tokenism. Race swapping been going on for decades. Gotta be consistent. Us agent was given the shield also. Colorism is still a problem in Hollywood.
Why does every story involving Sam’s Cap have to center on how the world sees him as a black man? There’s more to black characters in fiction than “Racism bad”. If it’s about identity politics then I don’t wanna read it. Those Alex Ross covers are great tho.
"I am Captain America! A shining symbol of what it is to be a liberty-loving American, from sea to shining sea! The founders, the patriots, the huddled masses yearning to breathe free! But first, let's focus on my blackness for a year. (Do you think we can get a year before this ish is cancelled?) Let's focus on my blackness for eight months, and educate Americans on blackness, because _that's why people by comic books!_ Excelsior!"
Your send-off on these clips has gotten better (they used to blast my eardrums louder than the rest of the clip)
Last time I checked, Captain Falcon was a Nintendo character.
It's culture appropriation on Japan lol.
Miles morales is peter darker. Falcon cap needs a nickname too
It looks more dead than Sony’s stock value this morning
But only one of them will deffo make a comeback lol
I feel Bucky should have become the new captain America. He has practically nothing going on now. But then again, he IS white so I don’t know what I expected.
Tbh the only reason I was ok with him not being Cap in the MCU is so he can become the white wolf. But I doubt that will happen
@@BenjiM514 White Wolf is someone else’s identity.
Or just, y'know have Bucky maintain his identity as The Winter Soldier? It'd be like some MLB all star calling themselves "The Great Bambino". Sure plenty of people have outperformed Babe Ruth in baseball, but if someone were to try to claim the title they'd at best laughed at and at worst have the whole of baseball hate them for the disrespect towards one of the greats.
Steve Rogers is Captain America, Sam Wilson is The Falcon, Bucky Barnes is The Winter Soldier, etc etc etc...
@@sackofpeas2470 I agree but his whole arc in the MCU is that he’s done being the winter Solider. He wants to Move past that.
@@BenjiM514
That's fine, but that doesn't mean he needs to become Captain America. He should forge a new identity all his own, not ride the coat tails of his best friend.
Tell marvel to use the name Captain Falcon.
I don’t remember a character by that name.
Somebody should make “dead on arrival” shirt and put Rippa‘s face on it 😂
What if the Falcon, was just the Falcon? ....nahhh make him Captain America. - faithless writers.
I'm old enough to remember when Falcon was so popular that Cap's comic was called Captain America & The Falcon on the cover. Sam was always a fan favorite.
I love Anthony Mackie as Falcon in the films but I'm not interested in Falcon as Cap. Cap is Steve Rogers.
How are these guys even making money? How are they not bankrupt yet?
Excessive support from establishment hacks
The movies making billions I guess
There’s a huge percentage of people who will go watch any movie if it’s in the mcu now. Don’t expect this to stop anytime soon unfortunately.
Never accepted FALCON as Captain America tbh ..also Falcon ain't replacing Steve. Both in comics and MCU. I have read only few essential Captain Amarica comics but as far as MCU is concerned , Evans Cap is on a different league altogether.
No it's not about his looks, skin color or anything. Evans Cap was simply legendary , same goes for his comic book counterpart.
They really don't know what to do with this...
DoA
I never understood the obsession with Falcon as Cap. Falcon had his telepathic link to Redwing and a jet pack. I don’t remember the enhanced strength and abilities would take to be Cap. Bucky had the serum, but I really have issues with cybernetics. I mean it’s still attached to basic human skin and bone….
can't wait for him to fly around telling global leaders to do better
Hello Fellow Leadership!!
You must role model to the best of your abilities! The followers are counting on it! Just remember though fellow leaders, we are in this together!!! Carpe Diem!
Has Cap ever taken the Falcon's "mantle"?
Surely there must have been times when Sam had the sniffles, and Steve "had" to take over for him, to keep the Falcon name alive?
Black fCe?
"Omg, that's cultural appropriation"
Falcon isn't Captain America. Falcon is Falcon. Wow tough to grasp I know.
Rippa.. I love hearing you talk comics and Characters. Dont apologize
Why tho? Why can't Falcon just be Falcon? It doesn't make sense for him to be anything else but who he is and became as a character. Captain America will always be Steve Rogers. All the other carbon copies are just "What If" fanfiction ideas that belong as fanfiction and are not part of the main continuity.
Even in the Comics. Who flipping wanted or liked this? Falcon is a great character. Leave him alone. This crap started in the comics way before it got on screen.
u r right...falcon was cool as falcon!
Cracks me up every time these played out race goofiness storylines give Eric a narcoleptic attack 🤣🤣
I can’t wait until they cast Ian Sommerhalder as Blade!!
Winter Soldier as Captain America would be real dope. Mech arm & shield... dope!
I actually love to see Sam Wilson the Character get more prominence. He has been a stalwart "second string" character in the MCU since I was a kid and I think we all like to explore those characters a lot. (Also, the version played by Anthony Mackie in the MCU is even more compelling to me than the sort of confused version in the comics continuity.)
The problem is, you can't say _"Let's take the wings off this jet, and it will probably be a good tank."_
I would love if they did up the Falcon's own outfit in the colors of Old Glory and promoted him as the new patriot hero. Hell, I'd even try not to cringe if they called him "The Eagle" or something. I LIKE Sam, but his destiny is not to become Steve Rogers. It makes no sense. Make him a prominent Black Character by just focusing on THE FALCON. The Falcon has always been good enough. The Falcon matters.
The snoring!!!!! 😂 😂 😂 Brilliant!!!
It's actually insulting that they keep pushing Black Cap, they just need to give The Falcon more attention and better stories. Enough of the social justice nonsense Marvel.
What about a Steve Rogers Captain America show in the 40s to the present where he tries to prevent every atrocity and global catastrophy he knows is coming?
"Why don't we just do what the last writer did... but on a bigger scale?" GENIUS! They'll never see it coming. Don't bother with reworking the script, just get it to print as soon as possible!
I'm very happy the Infinity Saga was fantastic and the stories were neatly closed off so it didn't feel like we needed closure. Everything from phase 4 onward won't carry as much weight 'cause we've pretty much done it all and if it goes off the rails then it won't be a big deal, for me at least
Hahaha! Had me dying when ya fell asleep. 🤣
This just makes me want rippaverse more. Take my money already!
Remember that one X-Men comic where Mojo loses his video feed of the X-Men and thinks they are dead and realizes his number one money-maker show is gone, so he tries to replace them with tokenized versions? That is back when Marvel knew that just gender-swapping or making baby versions of characters was a stupid idea.
Growing up, there was a Marvel comic book series called Captain America and the Falcon. I loved it. It had two main characters who were both strong and well-written. I don't remember race even being discussed, which seemed appropriate, because I was brought up to believe that all persons were created equal and we shouldn't put emphasis on race or religion. It's a person's actions that count. We should enjoy and celebrate the differences between us, understanding that there are differences but we all balance out equally. Now, ALL the emphasis is put on race or gender or sexual preferences. Maybe it was edgy and new at first, but now it's just a played-out trope that is predictable and boring.
Yawn and hard pass...
100% facts
I prefer calling him Captain Falcon, and I'm sure the mouse wouldn't sue because he owns Marvel.
Captain Falcon is a badass race car driver that punches a fire bird in Smash Bros. That’s the only Captain Falcon I will ever acknowledge.
Yooo😂😂🤣 you be killing me when you fall asleep 💀💀😂😂 Mr. July not all heroes were capes 😂😂😂😂
"You've gotta do better Senator!"
This is so depressing to me. I admit I never read comic books, but as the movies came out and the more I read about them, Captain America is my favorite superhero.
The shit you do when you fall asleep kills me everytime. 😂😂
Captain Falcon is a pretty good name. Might have to use that one.
I'm 51, soon to be 52, I enjoyed The Falcon growing up. I've got no use for him now, I don't care what they say he's not Captain America, I'm tired of this tokenization and (to use their terms) cultural appropriation
"What does it mean for the rest of the world to accept a black Captain America?" Does it matter since they are saying he's a figure head Captain America while Steve Rogers is still the real one?
I'm dying for a taste of the Rippaverse!!!!!!
7:56 omigosh! We killed Eric!!!
Uhh... did they not learn from the first time this wasn't successful in the comics? LOL
If they really wanna be serious about all this virtue signaling regarding race, then why are they propping up Sam Wilson when the character was created by a white person? Why aren't they tasking a black person to come up with an original black character? Oh right. They're creativity only extends to swapping comic color pallettes.
Oh boy, I can't wait to see which Captain's book sells better! I can already hear them calling the fans racists... 🤦🏻♂️
He's just Falcon with a shield.
Exactly. Sam Wilson is still the same character. They're crying in vain, he's still gonna be "Fly" regardless. As long as he's presented as a man first. In the early writing of Falcon, he was hesitant in joining the Avengers because, he'd rather put his community first and far most. That's honorable.
i laughed so hard way to much at rippa fake dying when he read that they will focus on being a black captain america Rippa make sure to Add woke comics in your comic book universe and just have woke comic on sale for a penny

Your comic book line will be awesome you understand comics. I still always love Spider-Man though
So Steve is telling Sam "let's be cap together." Who is this poser? The real Cap would tell Sam to be his own man not to live in the shadow of someone else.
Who hasn't been a Captain America?
Even the Punisher was Captain America....twice
Man looking forward to that Rippaverse
It's dead on arrival with no chance of survival.
I don't see why you cant just have falcon or winter soldier both be themselves. If Steve is dead they can just carry on his legacy without being captain America. At most just give them a shield patch.
I literally said that the yesterday lol
Man.. I wish DC and Marvel would listen to guys like Eric July, every time I hear this guy talk about this stuff I always agree and find myself learning new shit all the time. The guy knows his stuff. Makes me very keen to see what his incoming Rippa-verse has in store for us. I'm sure when your ready we will see it but id love a sneak peak or a character a shot.
You see, I’ve been saying this entire time that they are trying to outlast us, they believe that the main stream will except these characters that the geek them has rejected. Now, captain falcon has been brought to the main stream, although I did not get the impression that it went over as well as they think. It will take captain America for tanking at the box office, and it will, for them to give this up.
Yes, young Rippa. Steve Rogers is Captain America and Falcon is FALCON
A unique black character is not as good as a second hand white character.
That's what their actions say.
I'm really looking forward to picking up your comic books, I just hope they're availabe in the UK.
We need the reppaverse asap
The thing that was so compelling about Captain America: Winter Soldier (the movie) was the fact that Steve and Sam shared a strong bond and mutual respect that completely transcended race or other superficial elements. Race was never brought up BECAUSE IT DIDN’T MATTER! Steve and Sam were two patriotic good American men who fought for a common cause.
But now that we live in the Marvel Woke-inverse, everything has to be about race. There was such potential for Sam/Falcon, but now he’s just a one-dimensional token who is preoccupied with the aggrieved mindset of the insufferable lefty wokesters. No thanks!!
So we not only got tokenized Cap but tokenized Falcon as well, smh.
How will her take down caps enemies? You know super soldiers? demi gods? Most of the Avengers could back hand him into another ethnicity if they wanted to. Did they decide they needed someone weaker then Black Widow to make her look better?
Just what we need... More talking about race in comics :-/
Steve Rogers is Captain America. Sam Wilson is the Falcon. Peggy Carter is Peggy Carter.
Shocker! The comic 'cap' Falcon strongly resembles Anthony Mackie. The MCU leading the comics when it should be the comics leading the MCU. Ya, I'll stick to my 70's-90's back issues thanks.
They could at least have given him a better costume this time.
Welp, dig a grave for Marvel and DC Comics. Right next to Star Wars.
Maybe there will be an Irish version of the cap when we replay this in another 100 yrs
Bubonic Plague 1720
Cholera Pandemic 1820
Spanish Flu 1920
Convid 2020
Well Steve Rogers is the son of Irish immigrants so technically there already is an Irish captain America.
I don’t mind it at all. Passing of the torch kind of thing. Only thing I can’t see past is that falcon isn’t a super soldier. He’s just a normal human.
Agree it's DOA.
I’m really not a fan of Marvel’s insistence on brand synergy. The fact that we’re back tracking to Sam Wilson Captain America, just because it’s in the MCU.
I love the concept of falcon with the shield. It leads to fun action! But I think if your going to give him the shield then honour the past and make him "Captain Falcon".
As a Scot from Scotland, I've spent my whole life seeing stereotypes on screen wearing kilts and eating haggis. I would be so pissed if they did a 180° on it and started doing Scottish stories to show what it means being Scottish in this world. In this world, being Scottish means nothing aside from someone pointing out my accent or asking where I'm from. Aside from that I am a normal human being and wish to be treated as such. I imagine that the majority of black people feel exactly the same. They don't want negative or positive discrimination, they just want to be treated like the normal people that they are, and I had thought that by the 80s and 90s we had reached that level.
LOLOL 4:54 when I heard you say that name aloud, I thought "Man that sounds Japanese!" but then ya hit me with the African decent BUT THEN you come back and say it could be Japanese. BUT THEN it is African lolol. Dude I'm already subscribed but your audible sigh after reading at 8:01. I'm joining as a Mega Mack.
So the Cpt America and U.S.Agent scenario all over again.
You are 100% right that Sam getting called Captain America is a promotion since they couldn't justify leaving him as Falcon and saying that he is already a hero and doesn't need to become Captain America
SPOT ON
Marvel is FKING up a good thing!
