  • "The Space Between Us All" is an original solo for tabla and accompanied backing track of ambient guitar drones, and sitar. This composition is inspired by the works of the legendary George Harrison, lead guitarist for the classic rock band, The Beatles. In 1966, Harrison ventured on a trip to India where he studied Sitar under instructor Ravi Shankar and delved into the beliefs of Hinduism. These Indian influences found their way into his later works with The Beatles on songs such as “Within You, Without You”, from whose lyrics this piece’s title is derived. This piece explores different variations of 5/8 and 5/4 time signatures, as well as different metric modulations.
This performance was a part of my online senior recital to complete my Music Bachelors of the Arts Degree in Percussion Performance from the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music (Class of 2021).
Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy my performance!
