Challenge Rift 500 baseline:
7k armor and armor penetration
6.8k potency and resistance
Combat rating: 34133
Why didn't you go for the usual Ice armor build?
The reason I did not use the go-to build for challenge rifts (Ice armor with Halestone offhand essence) is because the damage was too low when losing the 30% black hole buff. The survivability in that build is much better than this one since you can take 6 hits while being immune. The issue is that as you can see the HP of all monsters in the challenge rift is super inflated in rifts 495-500 (I expect this to get nerfed next patch). The only way to clear it as it stands especially for low resonance players is to stack as much damage buffs as possible. Then fishing is required for the correct mobs (demons), map layout and boss (demon) and try not to get 1 shot too many times on the way 😅

Wow, amazing achievement and guide! I didn’t know that the armory pet trait worked in challenge rifts, nor did I think to check the recommended secondaries to see how insanely high they are.
I also appreciate your trying to refocus one of your commenters on magic attributes over triple primaries. It seems like he still doesn’t realize how much more impactful they are. I admit that certain advice (including that) has taken a while to sink in and convince me to change my priorities, but the more people emphasizing the things that min-maxers should really focus on, the better.

It's one of my tricks to push CRifts. I've done 2 while 800 under CR!
6pc Angment also melts large packs like in CRifts. Even with 90% less damage done.
The tunes fully reminded me of Killer Instinct, ahh memories. 😊

I don't understand where these gems 5 came from in the bag, they burn gray, as if they are inactive, then you revive them with the usual 1 and 2 + add resources and they start working. How is it possible, please explain?)
Hey! Its a new feature which came with the update in November last year. You can choose to make any 5star gem which has rank 2 or above into a "dormant" gem. It will become inactive and give you back the gem power which was used to upgrade it. To reactivate it you will need to spend the gem power back into the gem. In this case since I didn't have the gem power to reactivate them I used my 1 star and 2 star rank 10 gems directly as gem power to activate. I was using those old 5* gems for a long time until this feature was added. I then made them dormant to upgrade and try out other more useful gems. 10% damage increase bonus is nulled when fighting against higher Cr and 10% cooldown is just around 1 or 2 sec depending on the skill's original cooldown.

Hey! Are you above combat rating requirement for the rifts? I'll have a vid up in the next day or two for my top challenge rift tips. For now I would say try finish off your battlepass tasks this week to get p1200 as fast as possible. Once there equip all inferno 5 pieces you have (you can get a few from yakkin in Westmarch or free legendary item/set rewards from events). This will give you a huge combat rating boosts which should make the rifts a little easier
Do u think armor pen matters in Crift?
Yes under usual circumstances it helps. But the baseline armor/armor pen required for CR500 is 7k, and the baseline for potency/resistance is 6.8k. So unless you have 7k+ secondaries it will make 0 difference. That's why i wasn't bothered with getting 3 socket items because for me it would have not made any improvement. If you are a high spender then this could be worth optimising
Will done but you do know that reso doesn't affect pve at all, for rifts its all CR + 3k secondary stats
I did not make the switch for the reso. I needed the extra 200 combat rating. I had all pieces 1690 or 1670 from Inferno 5 but my combat rating was 200 under. That's why I switched back to my old setup. The requirements for rift 500 are:
7k armor and armor penetration
6.8k potency and resistance
Combat rating: 34133 (with 2.5k resonance I was -200 under this, with 3.6k resonance I was +3 over this)
hey bud, what's your advice farming 3 stat set items? im in 1200 and have none
Before you start take a good look at your build and try to optimise it for damage and mobility since you're doing PvE content. Make sure you have good damage essence/sets for your class. Take as many good magic attributes on all your gear like crit chance, crit damage, attack speed, base damage increase, primary attack damage, cooldown (set only) etc. Also prioritise getting close enough to the recommended combat rating for Inferno 5 dungeons or your damage/survivability will be too low. If the combat rating on your items is too low (no exceptionals) then don't be afraid to farm Inferno 4 for a little longer. Don't forget that everyday you have a free set item from you current difficulty for completing 3 dungeons
At this point get into a random dungeon group for Inferno 5 and invite as many friends as you can to run with you. Go through random dungeons as efficiently as possible together. You want to maximise the amount of drops per hour to also maximise the chance of a 3 stat item and the amount of wisps you're farming. If you get no luck with drops then use your wisps to craft the item in the slot that you need. 3 stat items are roughly a 1 in 30 chance to drop. So for every 30 greens you farm you should get 1 on average. So don't give up! Good luck!

So when would you say it’s a good time to farm inf 6. It’s tough trying to do both dungeons and circle farm. Circle farm to get 3 attributes drop and then wisp? Or should I live in dungeons inf 6

Yup, as predicted! I'm sitting at 540 with no effort now (5min clear). It was a still good challenge for me to complete this especially with my reso. I got first clear on my server even though we have a bunch of whales here and I also got Rank 1 for end of season ☺

r10 2* gems are nice, but when you spend some money on the game, they feel flat in the long run. I have 4x r10 2* and it breaks my heart thinking about feeding them to upgrade my 5* which on higher ranks will have bigger impact on my character dmg output.
Yes! I was heartbroken! But it was the only way! You're right about 5* gems but at 3.5k max reso I didn't feel I'd reached that point just yet. Even with switching it was not guaranteed I could clear the rift. I sacrificed so much that if I didn't get it I would have been livid! 😤
well done. I am still missing something like 120cr on 500 crift. 499 was easy but when i step on 500 ohh boy 20mln hp on normal mobs is insane. even without penalty i don't think is doable for me. i see for ranged classes is much easier.
Thank you! What resonance are you if you don't mind me asking? For me I cleared everything until 498 with 2.5k resonance and everything after 495/496 was a pain. 499 took me 3/4 hours to fish for the right rift even after I switched to my old 3.6k setup. 500 took me over 9 hours fishing 😅
@@Mao_DI my res is exactly 4k. i have 6x 5 star gems rank 6 and 2 rank 10 2*. but i do much more damage if i switch one of my 5* to rank 8 Fervent fang. but than i lose to much cr. today i managed to clear gauntlet 5 (pretty easy since i did it alone) and get few upgrades so i am only like 40cr below 500 crift requirements. Unfortunately barb is quite bad for pushing crifts and overall for damage output. My few friends who recently switched to BKs saying they do almost double damage on dummy what they were doing on Barb hehe I still have tomorrow to find any upgrades and try 500 again. On monday will be game over since most of whales will hit 1200 and crush 500 in few minutes ; )
@@arkadio638 Wow thanks for sharing. That's impressive! On my server a few whales have reached 1200 now but only 1 had been able to clear it so far with time of 8:30. So maybe it's not so easy for them either

Yes, I really enjoyed playing with that setup. The only downside is less combat rating. This was a desperate case to go for glory otherwise I probably wouldn't have switched back to my old setup. You can go very far with gems with useful effects even if 1* or 2*
