Very nice video mate ! Keep up the good work :) I love to fly with Icelandair in saga, personally I love to fly with them rather then Play.

Used to fly PanAm transAtlantic all the time, and Saga seats are similar to First Class forty years ago. The big downside of IcelandAir if you’re going direct to Europe is the rushed and chaotic transit in Keflavik, with the added complexity of Schengen immigration coming and going. Westbound flights hit KEF mid afternoon, and on July 3, 23 the terminal and gate areas were a madhouse, with such huge crowds you could barely push your way through to the gates. Airport staff and gate agents seemed overwhelmed by the crowds, and I wonder that nobody got trampled. Not a pleasant experience on the ground. BTW, Saga gives access to Air France lounge at Washington/Dulles which was lovely, and Frankfurt, which was somewhat less so. With the hectic KEF transit, no chance to even see their home Saga lounge. Good prices, but I’d think twice about the KEF ground experience.

The ground experience did leave a little more to be desired. A little more signage, perhaps.

That’s sadly the cost of beeing fastest growing tourist destination in the world, grown about 600% in 12 years…. But the airport is under construction to double the size to better handle the crowds :) And july of course the biggest travel month in the world ;)

My transit wasn't chaotic but yeah for most flights there's only a 1h stop-over in KEF. Enough to go get something to eat. One complaint I have is the boarding process in KEF. It takes too long. I ended up waiting in line for about 20 minutes before being let on the airplane.

Well another comment: Compared to let's say the Dulles airport, KEF is indeed (much) more crowded. Also hallways are more narrow

@@bjorgvinpIceland is a tourist destination? didn't know that. what's there to do in Iceland? thought it's mostly just a hub. I've never really taken a look at Iceland, stop-over period is just too short to leave the transit area

Well made video. Glad to see a direct flight option to Iceland from DTW. DTW is one of the worst most god awful airport SOLELY because of it being a Delta hub. The airport itself is great but the price gouging by Delta and due to it having a hub here is absolutely criminal. I hate Delta for it and often times I know people who end up flying out of Windsor, Chicago and Toronto and god knows all sorts of alternative options the difference between pricing from DTW vs. any of these other departing airports is 3-4x. How Delta is allowed this level of price gouging is beyond me.

I could not agree more. Delta, especially lately has been simply anti-consumer and it is truly unfortunate to be stuck with them as our hub. We go out of our way to fly United just because the flights are priced better. Chicago ORD also flies to way more locations than DTW could dream of, so ORD is our unofficial home airport, if anything to get away from Delta. I have also seen the blatant price gouging from airports like DTW where traveler's don't seem to have a choice. Shame on them.

that is a prem eco level of inflight service except for the champagne. Not my choice. You can have a better experience from St.Louis to Frankfurt on Lufthansa!

Really ,can you stopover with Lufthansa?

why should I. Icelandair is no longer a good airline. Very expensive and like I said. Only premeco service level in the so called Saga Class@@doddsalfa
