Vintage Lava Lite Motion Glitter Lamp WIZARD Red Stars Moon black Base

The lamp's design features a glass filled with red fluid. The mesmerizing stars and moons on the black base and cap are cut-out so that the light shines through. The lamp stands approximately 16 inches tall. This Lava Lamp is corded electric and has an on/off switch controlled by a rotary knob for easy use. It is an original and made in the United States, with a cone-shaped shade.
The cone shaped top/shade has some missing paint. The loss of its coating/paint on the cone was from the lamp leaking when it was stored. Unfortunately the lamp was stored on its side and it did leak some over the years. The Lava Lite original metal bottle cap type cap at the top appears intact, and I do not know why it leaked. There is a red plastic insert below the metal bottle cap that is somewhat rippled and that may be why?
The lamp works great. It is missing some fluid and the cone cap needs to be repainted.
