- Topper Toys Suzy Homemaker Doll Clothes Miniature Washing Machine! I hope you like these vintage toys. This has to be pretty rare original in the box like it was. I bet lot of these got wet and had issues with rust in the battery compartment. It was funny when the tubing fell apart :) Part of working with a vintage toy like this is being able to fix it and get it up and running.

True, but at least in some case I'd just as soon teach them how to use the real thing safely and with close supervision.
I remember one dinner I had my 2-3 year niece cutting up the cheese for a spaghetti dinner. Of course it was a plastic butter knife and string cheese. But I still showed her how to do it.
I don't know why I watch these videos, I don't know why I like these videos. But I love them, I can't stop watching them and I absolutely love them.

Love to see vintage toys. You wouldn't be able to repair toys from present time.
I think the clothes ideally should be lightly soiled, the water hot (quite hot but not scalding), and maybe just about double the soap used. Just my take :)

I was born in 1965 and had one of these as a little girl. I would set it on the bathroom counter and drain it directly into the sink. I’d wash my Barbie clothes and hang them to dry, but they were never really dirty.
I think this clothes washing machine worked great. The only reason I
put dirt on the doll clothes was because if I didn't then we would never
know if it would clean that much dirt. Like I mentioned in the video,
normal doll clothes under normal play can be washed and will smell fresh
after you use this toy.

I remember the Suzy Homemaker toys and commercials. They were quite a thing for the day. Amazing that it works after all this time.

This is just as loud as a real washer too 😂. It is a really neat toy .. I do wish the quality of toys today were made as well like vintage toys, toys were made so much better back then.

To keep this toy being valueable, MAKE SURE to make copies of the instructions. They are a valuable sell on EBAY or have them laminated. ALSO, when using detergent, make sure you put the soap in AFTER adding water for better agitation results. It would be help to keep the gears covered with petroleum jelly after it has been used to keep from drying out or rusting.

I had one of these! Washed doll clothes in it all the time. I also had a non-Easy Bake toy oven that was copper colored and looked like a real stove, that baked with a lightbulb. We bought tiny boxes of cake mix made for it.

For me, this was exciting to watch because i had that same exact washing machine back in my days!! It was nice to stroll down memory lane.. Back when i had the washing macine. I thought it was amazing that a toy washed doll clothes.. lol.. I do know that Times was much simpler then!!
There was an episode of Seinfeld, where Jerry was dating a lady who had a Mattel toys collection in her closet, still in the boxes. Jerry wasn't allowed anywhere near them! Well, I won't give it all away, but Jerry, George, and Elaine do end up playing with this gal's toys, without permission. Of course this comes back to haunt Jerry, and the relationship ends. And that's related to Kramer finding the old Merve Griffin TV show set in the dumpster, taking it home, and setting it up in his apartment. He then plays TV host! Quite an episode.

I had this toy as I a child. I wanted the oven, but mom got me the washer. When this toy came out liquid laundry soap wasn't available. Everyone used powder detergents.

Although playing house wasn't ever in mind, I always tought that these real working house appliances were cool. The machine works quite nice. I don't wanna be boring but, I think that pouring the soap before placing the clothes would mix and work better, most of it stayed over the clothes and out the water. Anyway, nice presentation.

I want the washing machine
eBay is the best place to get them. Note this Suzi machine comes in two sizes.. this smaller on and a much larger one with true agitation, a water pump spout and fast spinning.
I had a Suzy Homemaker Oven, same colors as the washing machine, it had a light bulb inside the oven door, a strong oven door that would hurt your fingers if you were t fast enough, that oven door was hinged on there tight! And it came with cake mixes bags and icing, my parents gave it to me on my 5th birthday and I got to bake my own birthday cake, chocolate of course! It was yummy! My dad has home movies of everyone around me singing happy birthday...there wasn’t any sound on my dad movie camera then lol 😁

I had a hand me down one of these from my aunts(I was a kid in the 80s). My mom was and is an obsessive cleaner, even though the house can't get dirty in the first place. I was never allowed to actually use it the correct way. I just had to pretend. Same with my easy bake oven, Barbie washer and dryer,Barbie swimming pool and any other toy that might make some type of mess. Moms sister is/was the same way. My cousin couldn't play with his Hotwheels in the house. So, he played with them outside, but then he couldn't bring them in cause they were dirty. He wasn't allowed to use the water hose, so he'd lick the dirt off. We had traumatic childhoods.

I thought American toys back then were really made high quality and with like metal and stuff, didn’t realize it’d be made of cheap plastic. Disappointing, but still fascinating!
Toys in the '50's were commonly made of metal. The '60's came along and toy companies wanted to save money by producing cheaper toys, so they went to plastics.
