I really like these videos where you solve harder puzzles. They are very educational for a newbie like me. I'm always amazed how people can solve these harder puzzles in such a "short" time :-)

Anybody else screaming at the screen when he leaves the 45 pair in r8c9 with the 4 in r8c1 at 16:03?

Just over 40 minutes for my solve. I wish I had noticed the 6-7-8-9 quadruple in row 2 that you did, would have made my deductions much easier during the first half. Most of my focus revolved around what the bottom right box could contain, as did your solve, and specifically how the pairs in boxes 6 and 8 restricted movement of particular numbers.

You can also observe that the 11 and 5 cages in the bottom row are 5 cells that add to 16, so must be 12346 in some order. Feels slightly easier than checking all the 11 combinations.

This was the first level 9 puzzle I was able to solve on my own!

I did too and was amazing. However, it took me 2hr 49m 32s to do it!

Because of this video I tried a killer sudoku puzzle for the first time in my live. I solved a level 1 puzzle in 1 hour 30 minutes, with just one mistake. I loved to do it on this dailykillersudoku website. Thanks for introducing me to this puzzle world.

is it a sin if I keep checking the puzzle(by pressing H) every time I put a number?
    anyway, good video!

Got it right at 3rd attempt! I fully expected that the centre block would be the last to resolve, but in my solve I finished it 7th of 9!

Interesting watching you do it. I did it in 2hr 49m which is a long time. I started with the 33 cage and worked the bottom row and top right combinations. I dont notice the patterns so use trial and error.

Took me about an hour, bouncing back and forth between working on it and watching how you advanced. The main things I missed were the 8 cell restriction in the bottom left, and the 3/7 option in the top right, the latter of which is one I probably never would have spotted on my own. There were a number of things I approached a bit differently, but work better for me.

I did pretty much the same things you did. It just took me twice as long.

Took me about 33 mins to solve. I had a similar start but I had a different end getting stuck on a set of numbers not seeing the given 7 for a few minutes while I struggled. Great video and keep up the quality content.

Wow, this one was tough. A lot of progress requiring that multiple clever observations be combined.

Great puzzle! Unfortunately I got stuck where you determined that R3C7 was not a 3 because I did not spot the logic with the two 11 cages (regrettably). I actually bifurcated that cage as a seven and it worked out so I ended up still following a very similar path

from me what broke the puzzle was the row 9 11& 5 and it's interacción with the 9 cage on the left. Amazing puzzle

These are so hard. I had everything up to and including the 1 in box 9, but my next bit of logic was false. I placed another 8 or so numbers before I ran into a contradiction and gave up. I don't know why I'm so incredibly error prone with DKS killer sudokus in particular, so much more so than any other puzzle type/interface I've tried -- even after I've gotten over some of my issues with the interface itself. But that's life I guess.
I totally agree about the erratic difficulty levels. I've run into level 5s where I've had more trouble getting out of the starting gate than this one.

I seem to be one of the 43% who could solve it, but it did take a long time. If there was a time limit, I probably failed.

  • @bigpops74

I've never managed anything over a 6 difficulty on there. 23 minutes would see me do a difficulty 1-3 puzzle on that site.

    • @GlennBroadway
      @GlennBroadway 5 років тому +2

bigpops74 I’m in the same boat. I think my problem is relying on the tools they offer too much. Simon always does that thing where looks for the sum of the remaining squares and rules out which pairs can’t be used. I need to do more of that.
