I think I would try to love it. I live in a house that I made some changes to, but there are many things that can't be changed. For example, in my home I think the flooring is beautiful but it's full of patterns and it's the same flooring throughout the house. It's a bit over the top but I like to think that the person who chose it really liked it, and a house with a floor is better than one without it. And I've gotten used to it and I can see beauty in it even though I want a floor without patterns.
That cactus tree is gorgeous. You might want to put it on a wheeled plant caddy, would look even more impressive and easier to turn around so that it develops evenly on all sides that need light, for cleaning as well. A regular terracotta or black pot wider on top and narrower on the bottom would make it even better.❤

Is that a spring rod that you used to hang the curtain from? I'm interested also in doing something like that too, but I was wondering if a spring rod can actually stretch that long from corner to corner and will actually hold the weight of a light curtain. Your rent may be high, but it's nothing like the San Francisco Bay Area, in California
