      Derrick has too many boxers under his wings. He needs to let some boxers go. No matter how great he is I don't think he can train his boxer well if there are too many. By the end of the first round and in the beginning of the second, Bud knew exactly where Spence would move his head in reaction to the jab. You could see Bud place his left hand where it needed to be without throwing the punch, then the next time he executed perfectly to score the first knockdown.
      Spence tried some adjustments, Bud kept mapping out every single option then executing

      Same here. I had never heard of him up until this video but I like is mind and breakdown of the fight. I honestly thought that by round 4, Crawford was gonna knock Spence out. When he parried Spence’s jab and at the same time threw his power jab that was snapping his neck back I was oh shit. I believe that’s the round he started throwing that short left uppercut inside too and it was JUST missing by a little. I called for rounds 4-6 to be the ones where he would stop him but like Greg said, he let him bleed out. I think part of it was that Crawford just want to show everyone (media especially) that Spence wasn’t on his level and he dragged it on longer. Bo Mac was also calling for the right things at the right times in the corner between rounds. After 3, start coming over the jab, after 5 start turning the jab to the hook, after 7 start catch an shoot. James, can’t say the same.

      The psychological damage may keep Spence idle for a while. He mentioned the rematch In December, it makes no sense but his ego was talking then. Hopefully his family has talked him into taking the rest of this year off.

    • @mrgrandi
      @mrgrandi Рік тому +3

      @@Basslines66 yes I agree. He needs to rest and regroup. I personally don't want to see him rematch Bud mainly for the sake of his wellbeing and he should definitely have a few light tune-ups at 154 first before going for a rematch or against the top guys there. But like you said his ego might be his biggest downside

    Of all the commentary on here about this fight, Greg Hackett's was the one I was waiting for and he never disappoints. He called this long ago but we all I suppose hoped for rather than expected a more competitive outcome. What struck me, was the difference in both corners. Spence was not the only one exposed as for me, Derek James was every bit as out of his depth as the difference in class between the fighters. Maybe James is JUST a trainer and not a strategist like say Angelo Dundee who always knew what to say in the crucial moments. For me, James came up shockingly short.

      @@Supersupremegang so what is your point? I mean really what are you trying to say? That only unbeaten fighters in their careers make the best trainers, managers and strategists? Really? You only need to listen to Greg Hackett to appreciate his knowledge of boxing. His own record demonstrates his desire for the sport regardless of the outcome.

  • @thetruebatman4632
    @thetruebatman4632 Рік тому +2

    I’ll be checking on Hackett’s input from now on. He said some things here that I hadn’t heard yet, that makes a lot of sense.
    Here in Texas we still love Errol like the champion he is, but I don’t want him to fight anymore after that. Go listen to his interviews after the olympics, then listen to his interviews before this fight, and then listen to him immediately after. That punchy slur comes out of nowhere and gets worse and worse and worse. You don’t heal from that damage, you wear it for the rest of your life. He’s done more than enough in the sport, I hope he changes his mind on the rematch. I don’t think many people want to see that again.

    Adrenaline is a powerful thing. It can carry you for a minute, but if you don't control it, you will burn out quickly. Around the 3rd round, ES looked tired and drained. TC looked fresh the entire fight.

      @Prophetgoodwin Рік тому +4

      So you're kind of saying Errol panicked after that knock down in the 2nd and didn't control his composure . So he deflated in gassing out.
