@@BryanJohnson81 Another question, using the ground wire method, did your low beams come on when the ebrake was released without turning on the headlights? If so, is there a way around that without adding relays, fuses and more wiring?
I couldn’t tell you. I never tried it. I just did it that way real quick just to see if it would work. If it’s dark enough the lights should come on with the e brake released anyway.
@@BryanJohnson81 I disabled the auto headlight with a resistor. I also took out the drl shunt/resistor under the hood so the drl's don't work. Guess I might be doing it the way you have so the lights are on only when I turn the light switch on. Thanks for the response.
@@little_rob2k184 i rerouted the ground to one of the fender bolts. Wish I could send a picture, but I pulled the wire up from under the battery tray, loosened a fender bolt, stuffed the eyelet connector under the bolt and tightened it down because it happened to me twice too. No problem as of yet
@@BryanJohnson81 Found the problem. That spot for the ground didnt work for me. tht dill that u screw on the left side i turned it counter clockwise 90 degrees and the. fed the ground wire up against tht post and ground the wire w the screw tht hold that bar on top of the battery👍🏽

Sucks ya can't do the diode trick on these trucks. Also, why not put the halogens in the low beam and the HID's in the high?? That way you're not blinding people while driving around town. Just a thought.
it does suck that you can’t do that with these trucks. I have hid’s in the high and low beams now. The low beams are projector headlights so they don’t blind oncoming traffic

What is it you don't like about just grounding the yellow wire?
I’d rather have some type of overload protection rather than taking a chance of burning up the wiring.

I have a red wire instead of orange is the red one suppose to connect to the orange

i tryed grounding out the yellow wire and it didnt work, do i have to have the headlight switch on befor it would work rather then jus dtr lights
If it’s too light outside for the headlights to come on then yes, you will need to have the switch on

will you be able to control fog lights with high and low beams on?
The fog lights work like they should. They will still go off when high beams are turned on

I just popped a kit in mine and it didn’t work right away, it was the ground if anyone has the same problem

Mine doesn’t work. im pissed off checked everything n still doesn’t work
Only thing I can think of is there’s a bad connection somewhere unless the relay is bad for some reason

03-07 you can do the diode trick or there is a company that sells plates that you can put on the fuse panel
