Excellent points, and i'm glad to see how appreciative these actors are. (I love all the shows they rep btw)
its so true about young actors because they don't realise that they are lucky and its not usual to get a job. They think they are there because they deserve it/are talented etc but then the tv show ends and they have nothing to go to. It happens time and time again.

LOL SO FUNNY!
This was a great interview! I clicked on it to watch Joshua Jackson, and was surprised to listen to a lot of thoughtful comments about these actors/actresses jobs. Especially Lucy Liu; her comments were great about feminism and multicultural actors. :D
I hope that Joshua Jackson continues to get work and I also hope that he does something interesting next. I really enjoyed lone star state of mind and I hope that he continues to grow as an actor. I have noticed that he never gets comfortable and complacent in a role and that he continues to develop and build his character in television which is interesting to watch. I also think that the girl from dexter has a big career ahead of her, she is an interesting, intelligent,committed actor.
Would like to see him in bigger, but not too big... darker roles..kinda like the roles Jake Gyllenhaal gets...because I feel he is so talented but so underrated

I know they don't get why fans are so invested in their personal lives, but it's about curiosity we all want to see how they are like us. Moment like this roundtable is when get to see them with out scripted or a publicist telling them what to say. It's just them talking about their struggles they had to go through to make it and still it's not easy because when 5 years are over they have to start all over again.
I think each of them has a point. Everyone has a responsibility and also has a personal life. David has some great points here. He has a lot of experience in several different fields within films and tv shows.

I didn't care that they were articulate, talented, yadda yadda yadda. That was great, but the fact that they all seemed so down to earth...that's what caught my eye. I felt like I could have been sitting there next to Jennifer or David or Stephen and just having a laid back conversation with these people.
I really love these roundtables, this is the part of film and tv that I love, forget all the celebrity and gossip and money, actors talking about the work and passion is what needs to be on tv. I love the body language in this as well, they all loosen up throughout the video.

great convo. I think people/fans forget that they are also "normal" in a sense and that acting is their profession. The characters they play are a mix between their input and the creative writers and not "them" fanatics can sometimes get out of hand. They are people who just live in the public eye a lot more than we do.
wow 19:40 ish Lucy just charged into this off-tangent spiel about the changing social platform and the limits of censorship by parents and stuff but honestly it was one of the more interesting talks of the roundtable so I don't mind at all.
Listen, Ginnifer has it straight: 16 hours on a film set as an actor is NOT the same as 16 hours on the crew, or 16 hours as a fisherman, or 16 hours as a family law paralegal (which I did for ten years every year around Christmas time) or 16 hours as an accountant around tax time. Actors nap while in the chair getting their make-up applied, they snooze or text in between takes, they hang out in their trailer reading ... just because they're available on set does not mean they are working.
