  • This is my review on the Yamaha P-45 digital piano. Awesome entry level piano with great sounds and a great quality 88 key graded hammer action keybed that simulates the action of an acoustic piano.

    Thank you for this review! I’ve listened to several reviews of this model, and you mentioned some features I hadn’t heard about. Getting a used one this week, and I’m excited to start playing!

      Thanks, glad the review was helpful. The P45 is awesome it has the same key action just keep in mind there is no app or rhythms (just in case those matter for you).

      There's a new version coming out as well the P-145; P-45's might go on sale once it's out in your area.

    This will be my first ever "Piano" - after a fair while of reading comparisons between the P45 - the Korg B2 - the Roland FP-10 - and a Casio - I decided not to worry about the slightly ageing features (or lack of) the P45 had - when I heard the STRINGS sound it produced in your demo I insta-bought it :-) - many thanks from London, England!

      Hi there! Congrats on your new piano! The P-45 still holds up and competes well, it has the same action as the P-125 and the brand new DGX-670 also uses that action, and while there aren’t a lot of sounds the ones it has (like you said) are awesome!

      Many thanks! I have subbed, and have another question - I already have a M-Audio Midi controller that connects to my PC (which only has 32 keys) - I know this P45 can be connected to a PC - so can it be used as an 88 key Midi controller in effect? Being able to generate any VST's sounds / like a Midi controller can? Or is the connection to PC only for recording purposes, and it can't generate any more tones than the 10 it comes with?

    • @PianoTone
      @PianoTone  2 роки тому +3

      Yes it absolutely CAN be used as a midi controller! The USB connection is MIDI only actually (the P125 also has audio through the USB, with the P45 it is MIDI only)

      That's a sheet that comes with the piano that shows what key combinations you use to change all the settings available on the piano. It's helpful to have handy since this piano doesn't have a menu screen. Thanks for visiting the channel!

    Do we have option to use External speaker by using 3.5mm Jack in Yamaha P45B

    • @PianoTone
      @PianoTone  7 місяців тому +1

      Yes you can - the headphone port is stereo, so if you are connecting to something that has 2 inputs/channels on it you could use a TRS (headphone side) to TR splitter cable, or if you are just connecting to an amp, just use a single cable.

    Hello, I would like to ask one thing.. If I set a specific imposition on the p45, such as the hrz at 432, does this setting remain even if I turn off the keyboard? Thank you

    • @PianoTone
      @PianoTone  Рік тому +2

      Hi there! I’m not sure about that actually - maybe try checking the manual on Yamahas website. Thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe

    Are you using the internal speakers I always see people using external speakers and I can’t accuratelyjudge the sound quality

    • @PianoTone
      @PianoTone  2 роки тому +1

      The sound demos were recorded by connecting the headphone out with a splitter cable to my Roland GO:Mixer Pro audio interface which then sends a clean direct digital audio stream to my iPhone (which was doing the recording; so there are no speakers being used in the recording). The speakers are 12 watts so not super powerful but they are more than fine for practicing and sound good. I currently have a P-125 which has slightly bigger speakers, and if not using headphones I barely turn the volume past about 10-15% volume (I live in an apartment).
      Hope that helps, thanks for visiting the channel! I also reviewed the P-125 if you want to check that one out here: ua-cam.com/video/xWqilIX-0l0/v-deo.html

    How to do stage,hall.room? Which key can I touch?

    • @PianoTone
      @PianoTone  5 місяців тому +1

      Hold down “grand piano” and press keys from C5 to E5 to choose reverb types (E5 turns reverb off). It’s on page 13 of the manual you can find on Yamaha’s site.

    is there an output jack for plugging into an amp?

    • @PianoTone
      @PianoTone  10 місяців тому +1

      No your only output is a headphone port - the P-125 has L/R line outs

    What about the noise in the keys when you press them? it´s very noisy?

    • @PianoTone
      @PianoTone  3 роки тому

      It was a while ago now that I reviewed that one; it does have the same key action as my P-125 though, and I don't notice key noise at all. If you search online for ANY brand/model + "key noise" you will find people complaining; pretty much all digital pianos will have some key noise, and it will often get worse with time as grease dries/evaporates.

      Yes, mine is 11 weeks old, played about 300 hrs so far, the middle section is noisy, clunky and feels loose, I'm very disappointed with my P45, I will be contacting Yahama for a solution..
