- This is my first entry for the Bubble Bobble Top Of The Pops challenge - a 1 life challenge to see how far you can get in any version of Bubble Bobble, with or without a friend :)
This is part of @raza_is_retro 's Shan & Raza cup, a fun competition run on UA-cam. You can play any port of the game, providing it is the arcade version - and this time unsurprisingly I'm playing the C64 version (the Hit Squad release, loaded from cassette). I hope to try a few other versions too.

Ah great video Rich it looks very nice on C64 indeed and I defo looked up to see how some of the basic items spawned etc before playing buddy, thanks for the kind mention. Interesting that the umbrella spawns there and skips more levels etc certainly seems to be differences on the various consoles/versions ☔. And it's definitely harder to play and narrate simultaneously so well done! Unlucky on that heart level you'll definitely beat it next time though.💪🕹 I also hope someone manages a coop effort at this.🤝🍀
Yeah there's definitely some subtle changes between the versions - they're all great fun though from what I can see. You're still in first place at the moment mate 🥇
Well played Richard. I used to be able to complete this in the arcades back in the day. But in truth my best mate always carried me, not only was he brilliant at it but he understood all the little tricks. I'm crap at it playing solo now😑
Ah thanks mate - I got close to completing the switch version with Alex a while ago but we got stuck near the end (lots of credits were used 😂)

Nicely played buddy and great to see the commodore 64 version it looks great. I think you will beat my effort as my practice runs have been terrible 🤣🙂
Good luck mate - I definitely got better with a bit of practice. Was hoping to get to 15 as I managed that a few times but I wasn't recording 😂

I have been looking for that compilation
for over 35 years - until i found it from
a finnish 🇫🇮 website in January 2023
and bought it for 18€ 😺👍🕹️.
Also, it was the first time, when i gave a try for the Commodore 64 version of this legendary classic Arcade conversion 😺👍🕹️.
And it is absolutely the best arcade conversion, besides the Amiga version 😺👍🕹️🕹️!
The original Arcade, Commodore 64 and Amiga versions of BUBBLE BOBBLE deserve the purrfect scores 10/10 😺👍🕹️🕹️!
And you, Retro Ricky, are an excellent gamer 🕹️ 😺👍.

Ah that is great to hear - that is a fantastic compilation and Bubble Bobble is the stand out game. It is a really great conversion :) Hopefully you can play some this summer :)

Well played Richard that was a fantastic effort, The C64 version looks And sounds great, PJ Venom was a Beast on this, He claims not to be a retro gamer But seems to be smashing in it on these Classics , Reading up beforehand though what a nerd He is 😂😂😂 Just kidding, I will be reading up on nothing though, I only have time to give these games one attempt on these challenges 😂 As this is on everything I really looking forward To seen which versions people play
