- This was a very short notice ride as I was passing by on my way home from my weekend down south for my recent competition, it's hard to pass up riding in such amazing weather in one of my all time favourite places (Shipley Glen) with a rider like Jack!
My previous video with Jack here at Shipley Glen went down really well so I figured I'd film here again and give you another long video to watch. I had a slow rear puncture but still hit a couple of lines and got some great tips from Jack which seemed to really help!

I then suggested a rock for him to get up which I had always dreamed of doing one day...sadly I'm never going to do it myself so I set Jack the challenge, turns out even a multi-world champion can still be challenged!

He’s a machine! Not easy to film but a wider lens, closer distance to subject and a lower viewpoint is what people shooting skateboarding use to provide or even exaggerate the sense of scale. Easier commented than done mind you.
The skill level is mind blowing. Ali your great, but Jack is, well unbelievable.
After learning to track stand my mtb from your video tutorial i think it would be a well received video for some very basic trials videos. I'm 61 but still keen to learn as insure itcwoukd help my overall bike skills

The bike was in a stable position, possibly rear wheel standing between two rocks.

At 9:00, Jack makes many slight reorientations. True he is an Energiser Bunny. Is it better to use more energy on many small hops to insure continuous balance or bigger initial reorientation with few small readjustment? Or it just depend on many elements of the situation?

@@jamesd7786 Ali locks his brake before gapping, so the weel does not spin + when gapping strait forward you don't change the angular momentum so does not really make a difference.

Keep Jack, but ditch the comp bikes. Shipley Glen is good for dozens of videos. You should climb a few of the classic routes.

Noticed your cranks are moving forward when you wheel your bike. Same thing happens to mine, does it need fixing or is it ok?
This is completely normal, your freewheel/freehub springs are stronger than any resistance from your BB bearings, so your cranks will therefore rotate as you wheel the bike forward.

Rock riding is a cool thing to do, but boring to watch.
