Trivia: The Painting was actually hanging so at the end when you two rested on it, it would possibly MOVE back and swing....so there were two people behind the painting who would have their hands up to support your backs so that you didnt tip backwards. ;-ppppp

I think the duet Brennan was talking about was the initial Nationals duet from James and Riley called "Heartbreaker", where Riley puts her heart under his shirt to simulate James' heart beating at the end. The scene it happens isn't in an extended dance for this duet, but it was in season 2 when James and Riley were rehearsing in front of Kate after breaking up
The only dance I can recall where costumes are ripped off is the season 6 regionals final, when they all changed from white clothes to red

When brennan was talking about the pull off clothes, I think he was thinking about Eldon's nationals solo where he does that.

I can see Riley come back as studio head to actually be a "good" studio head. Since in season 4 Riley was 18 and had no experience with handling a business. But in season 9 she has finished business school and maybe has taken leadership courses and is ready to bring the next step back to its former glory. So she will go from the person "bringing the next step glory down" to take it to the top!!!!!

personally i beg to differ i think riley was a irresponsible studio head and favortismed alfie to the dance gala but evn tho she couldnt go he didnt deserve it it should of been some one less techincal more like henry/ozzy etc
i was so curious as to how the audience didn't get spoiled watching it live! also it was so interesting that you filmed it so many times to get all the angles. these are the things i was wondering about when i watched this as a kid 😂

James and Riley duets have always been my favourite dances!! The internationals duet will forever be my favourite but this is second because it’s just so fun and beautiful and I always found it so sweet how James had to wait for ‘the voice’ before doing the b twist, and ‘the voice’ wasn’t his best friends it was Riley. Also I love ballet so much it’s so beautiful to watch

Tns was the show I watched every day of my childhood, the nationals episodes I watched all the time

Yayy! More reaction vids! I am rewatching The Next Step (again), because of your reaction vids and a choatic mind. Can’t wait for summer vacation.
I've watched The Next Step since I was a little girl and Riley has always been my favorite character, so seeing you and Brennan come back to those old episodes and recreate the scenes/react to them makes me feel extremely happy and nostalgic. I also absolutely love the backstories, I'd have never imagined how much work is behind one dance or a whole competition scene. It's so fun to find out about the show from your perspective!

9:05 for ripping the clothes off, I think Brennan is thinking of Season 6 Regionals the “even when your gone” dance , they change from black to red and then Noah (Myles erlick) changed from red to black , symbolizing a a story that they don’t need him anymore
So this is not a question but this is me telling you that me and my best friend love The Next Step more than words could express and we have, what we call, a “next step tree” where we have ranked every character that has had some kind of noticeable role in order of most iconic to absolute trash. This sat pride of place on our living room wall till I recently moved out. Just for some context, we are both 21 and are not ashamed to admit how obsessed we are with that show. We love you guys lots, stay slay❤️
To give some kind of idea, Margie sits pride of place on the top of the tree and could never be relegated

Imagine this storyline to have a cameo from Riley! Riley suddenly just turns up in dance gear ready to train. The current team are confused. Riley, in a talking head, is finding it strange that the team seems different and her technique isn’t up to standard. Cliffhanger! Next episode we find out Riley has had an emotional breakdown and in order to cope has reverted back to when she felt most safe, at The Next Step! Can bring back other past team members to help her heal and move on! Btw…loving the videos 😊
This would be a really interesting psychological thriller (or halloween episode) haha, I'd be down.

8:50-9:07 - Is Brennan referring to the heartbreaker duet where Riley pulls under James’ shirt multiple times before storming off? That’s the only one I can think of regarding their intense duets as they were going through a rough time during that moment mainly because of James cheating on Riley which led to them losing chemistry.
Question - What are your thoughts on Riley and Ella’s relationship in Season 3? In addition to this, what different direction would you have liked to have seen Riley explore or go through in Season 4?
I thought he was referring to Eldon's Oxygen Solo where he rips off part of his costume. I don't recall any Jiley duet involving Riley throwing off an outside layer of James's clothes but Eldon's National Solo consisted of a similar idea when he ripped off his outside costume layer.

Did you enjoy being on the show? I grew up on the show and saw you guys live I think in 2015. I cried I was such a huge Riley fan. Still as a grown women now I sometimes go back and watch the show the early seasons and watch it. I think it would be cute to have Riley and James kids be at the studio and that would be how you would appear of James and Riley are getting married and they get married at the studio

Aww this is one of my favourite dances from tns!
My question is, what's it like to play a character if you don't agree with the direction the writing is going in? E.g when Jiley's relationship being messy, Riley being a bad studio head or anything else from another role. Can you have any say, or do you very much have to do what is asked?
Also I would LOVE to see Riley's kid at the next step! It might be a bit of way off for Riley, but I wonder if they could have Miss Kate's kid or something?
watched this show countless times since i was 7 and now im 15 lol but question for the podcast: were you scared of the acting part of taking on the roles of Daniel/Riley because you mostly had dance experience?

I can't wait for the podcast! I would want to know about your public image or just experience in general being in a show that was directed to children or young people. I imagine it can be hard and I enjoy watching videos of you out of character and also relating more to the adult world as I am now older.
Also, I understand you must be tired of always being reminded of Jiley, so just if you want to and for this same reason I wonder what was your perception of it along the way. It was my favorite story and when I watch you talking about it you seem tired of the topic (which is understandable) maybe because of all the attention and questions or maybe things that happened that made you uncomfortable (?.
