Re wind deflectors, I and a few Indian riders have installed JES Customs deflectors...they are in the US. They eliminate 90% of buffeting ...granted I have a Chieftain but they do them for Springfield's as well
I'm adding a similar windscreen to my 01 Softail Deuce for the winter. I ride 50 miles to work on the interstate, at about 80-85 mph, also adding hand wind shields. Quick release so when just ripping around it's an easy on and off. But in the cold at those speeds, it's a definite game changer. The taller sissybar is the way to go, just as you said. Makes carrying luggage and gear a bit easier! Stay safe!
@Jaysonic3423 now hand shields i need to look at too. I reckon there's something not right with my hands, $$$'s spent on gloves and still cannot get them right.
@TheIndianCrusader i bought some Meohis Shades shields, after a 7.5 hour trip, and I piece of gravel hit a knuckle, while travelling 80 mph. QUITE PAINFUL!!! Plus they'll help the hands tremendously in cold weather
Good honest review mate. I wanted the Indian bag for my bike but couldn't justify the money they were asking. So I went with Nelson Rigg. They do a bag that has wheels just in case you are still looking for that option. It's called the highway roller.
@pistnbroke2 i need to check this set up out. The Indian bag was overpriced and feel like i need to use it to justify the cost but a bag with wheels will make the ditch this one quickly.
Always loved the look of them but too big for me, that's for sure -- you're nearly a foot taller than I am ;-) Being an old bloke, back in the 1980s I visited the Indian Motorcycle Museum in Springfield while working in the town. I still remember being impressed by the 1920s and 30s Scouts they had. The marque was effectively dead then so it's great to see it back and staying true to its history.
@jimminakis7710 gday Jimmi.... some days I look at that screen and can't stand it then others I love it... the joys of long haul and staring at the same things all day overthinking it!!!
Great to get a real world review of your bike after a decent ride. Be interested to get a review on how much gear you packed compared to how much you needed. Often we seem to plan for the apocalypse when heading out on a trip!
@mrharleypup thank you and 100% so many overthink it...... I reckon i might do a review on that too because I think too many people overthink... then don't 'do'. Thanks again
@mrharleypup and I am amazed at the criticism I have received on youtube from people having a go at me for not packing enough.... probably people who don't ride past the local cafes.... but yeah welcome to youtube , crazy world
Great reliable Indian machine..better than Harley's..that's for sure...love your content...much more down to earth than some other boasting actor rider from Geelong..Tasmania and even new Zealand would be great on the ever reliable Indian 😀..stay safe
Nice little coverage of the bike and setup good to know trustworthy on reliability, would look at Harley but that reliability just isn't there and the Chief and 101 look great. Shock setup and how it goes on bad roads vs spinal compressions worth a mention next video....
you have changed my mine about indians ( but l love my old fatboy had it for over 25 years l just turned 64 and not buying a new bike lol ) anyway your wind screen looks cool l would leave it on all the time. loved your lap sad to see it end
@gravelrashadventures5051 i rode a 2016 fatboy last weekend, nice bike. Lap coming to an end but not the end of the road for this channel... more coming!
Good down to earth honest opinion, unlike some previews of people loaning a demo bike to ride around the block purely to gain views for their channel,.. Now for the icing on the cake, one side of the Indian wrapped with the Australian flag and the other side with the American,... Behold !! Bright Stars and Stripes shall cometh and shine through thy realms of Darkness Brother,...(sorry, need my robe and pedistall for that one) 😂.
@@TheIndianCrusader...Hey bro no one is going to leave your channel if you decide to earn a few dollars via UA-cam adverts, hopefully your subscribers will grow and make it worth while, just thought I'd better mention it after my comment in your last episode, besides, people will probably have a winge about you wasting money, OWN IT.
@WreckingCrewHR4K was seeing if it made a difference with it on or not but doesn't seem to. I'm cool with finishing this 'lap' with no money to see if it can help grow the channel. I'll see if it grows much after the 'lap'.... but all cool if it doesn't. Nah believe me the $ isn't really worth it i reckon unless you have thousands of subscribers and views above. what i have
OK, so you are 6'4" and you say it fits fine for someone your height or just an inch or two shorter. What about guys who are only 5'9"? Anyone here that height that rides the Springfield? Would love to know if it will fit my shorter height. THX.
@timhoke2 definitely good for you as well i reckon. I forgot to mention i had to put forwards on mine too, so the stock is more suited to shorter than myself. Sits low to the ground too, jump on one and get a feel.
Note: this vid may have a couple of ads. Trialling something here, other videos should be enjoyed ad free ✌️
