Great review. I wish you could instruct everyone how it's done. You go over all the stuff that matters. Thinking of getting one myself. This was a great learning experience for me.
That's very kind of you to say. Thank you for that. The Springfield is definitely my favorite Indian Motorcycle in terms of the looks. I really like the feel of the ride as well although I'm still messing around with finding the right seat that will make me comfortable.
Thanks for the note. I have never owned a Heritage. I think there is another "Ramblin Man" down in GA that some folks confuse my page with. He and I have traded messages joking about it. Not sure if he owned a Heritage. I've owned a Scout and currently own this Springfield and a Super Chief Limited. The Super Chief looks like a Heritage but I ended up swapping out the spoke wheels for the "mag" looking sort of wheels.

It’s definitely a good looker. I remember when all I liked was the super cool looking anything that looked vintage or old I didn’t want to have nothing to do with but now I think it’s beautiful. It’s funny how our flavors change over the years.😊
That is funny. I think I may go in reverse. I started out in my journey (which is still new) liking the vintage looking stuff better. As I start looking at other bikes with more attention now, I'm curious about other style bikes and maybe trying one of those down the road.
What worked for me on the Thunderstroke motor for heat .was true duals and tuner..knocked down the temp bout 30% for me..which made it bearable during the summer...Ride Safe😊😊
Thanks for the info. Beyond my knowledge base so I'd have to do a deep dive on the subject. I'll add it to my running list of things I don't know much about but I'm reading online. Thanks for the heads-up on it.
I’ve owned Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, BMW, HD. And now Indian. My 2nd Indian. My first Indian was a total failure. 21 Indian Challenger. Was in the shop more time than I rode it. Traded it with just 11,000 miles. Now have a 23 Chieftain. So far so good. Sometimes you buy with your eyes.
Sorry to hear about your bad experience with the other model. Hopefully, your new one will work out much better. I think I may play around with seeing if I can rent other models as I'll I've been on are my own Indians, aside from the little bikes in the training course I took to get my license. 23 Chieftain....nice ride!
I have a similar story with Corbin on my 2019 Scout. The stock seat was terrible. Ordered the Corbin and it totally changed the feel of the bike and not for the better. Hated the seat but kept it because it was so expensive. I now have a 2023 Springfield Darkhorse I purchased a Saddlemen seat. It's much closer to the stock seat and I'm very happy with it. Sorry you had that experience. I had hoped I was the only one that didn't enjoy their Corbin. Good looking seat, not what I expected.
I've read on forums that a number of people like Saddlemen. It's a shame all of these seats are so expensive. Makes a failed experiment pricey. I may cave and buy one of these used Corbins. Please consider subscribing if you haven't already. Thanks!
Well you put it out there. I am one of those non riders that love motors. I did ride on the back of an Indian when I was 16. All I remember was it was yellow in 1955 or so. My friend Tommy was one of those kids that got anything he wanted (guilty parents). Still remained a nice guy but died young of brain cancer. I still remember his words all these years later as I got on back. "put your arms around me." pause. LOCK YOUR FINGERS. BOOM! What I do not care for is the front fender "skirt" and I would cut off the down part of the front fender. I know no one cares what I thing and the only reason I say anything is because you kind of invited comments. The bike is of course beautiful.Based on you and your great videos, If I were to buy a bike it would be one of these. No shopping. Loved the Road Runner. Relating to the keyless entry. If you are old, write it down and put it in your wallet. My Dad always used the punch code. Often leaving keys in car. This stopped standing at the Golden Corral by his Mercury Marquis, realizing he had forgot the code. I drove a 2006 Dodge Ram that had the deactivation. Told salesman I drove it and noticed NO difference. He said You ain't supposed to notice any difference. As to feet not touching ground, you could buy some shoes like "Jimmy" had. "don't touch Jimmy" LOL.🦇
Ha! I bet that 1955 range Indian would be worth some $$ now. Wonder where it ended up. Funny, that front fender is one of the things people comment on. I tend to like it as I "think" it keeps rocks and debris from coming up to me, and maybe rain when that happens. Honestly not sure. My Super Chief is more the "bobber" style with a little short fender and I know folks told me that meant more rain and dirt would hit the rider including from the rear. You see Ford is going to start charging extra for the keypad? I have one on my truck and I have never used it.
@@RamblinManMoto We use the fob a while and it grew old. Would not pay extra for it. I learned on a bike as a teen no fender means wet back. I grant it would provide cover I just like the small ones better.🦇
Is that on a Springfield? Did you get the standard or close-up? I have loved my Corbins on my other two Indians. Working on buying a used one now to see how it works.
@ thanks for the info. Corbin did tell me that their close up seat was closer to stock than their standard but when I took the measurements the way they say to do on their website it suggests I need the standard seat which they said, takes you back and up, which is not really what I desire. The used seat that I’m looking at is the standard. Still working out terms with the seller on that one
Totally agree! I hope they don't phase this one out. I'm not sure it's the hottest selling bike as the push seems to be towards other styles. Thanks for watching. Please consider hitting "subscribe" if you haven't already. Thanks!
Most stock batteries suck lately. Lot of big name brands have had a huge problem with batteries. I had to wait for a battery to test ride my Springfield. One issue is the modern electronics are very picky about voltage and may have parasitic draws.
Ramblin Man, ........ Rear shock is a monoshock, singular, uno, one. ALSO, have you installed that OIL COOLER which I mentioned to you on your previous vid / my remarks? Additionally, I changed out all my front lamps to yellow/amber and let me tell you, they make a safety statement! Oncoming vehicles can see you, daya or nite. I added 2 more amber lamps mounted on the front engine guards. AS for your seat height issues, remember your Springfield has that adjustable AIR Shock on the rear, so why can't you adjust that in order to accommodate that seat height problem? OH BTW, I'm not on the fence, The Springfield is my choice IF I decide to make a purchase in 2025. .thanx for your reviews.
Ok on the rear shock. Did I say plural? Can't recall what I said in the video. No, have not installed an oil cooler. I think in my state there was some talk about making the yellow/amber lights illegal, if I recall correctly. That had to do with car/truck headlamps. Not sure if we're talking about the same thing. Appreciate the idea but not sure I'd want to lower the air shock given its comfort on "bumps" is one of the things I really like about the bike. Lowering the shock may help me touch the ground but I'm thinking that still leaves me feeling like I'm sitting "on" the bike as the entire bike is going down, not just the seat. Right? I don't mind my toes/balls of my feet touching so bad, if only I didn't feel like I was sitting "on" the bike and a little more forward than I wanted. I think I'm leaning towards getting one of these moto shops to re-do the foam on my stock seat as my next step. Good luck on your possible future purchase. Obviously I'm a fan of the Springfield.
