@kittiehart Key bars that sealed the deal for me of the character being Satan was.. "One of the oldest most ancientest of things, speak every single language on the planet...ya meen" or "These fools are my fuel,so i make them Cool(Fame,Fortune, etc.)"
I think When he says game he is talking about the culture as a whole that is being force fed to our generation. All the music, the fashion, the dollar green, gold plated dreams that is being sold to our youth that will ultimately lead to our demise. This is the most slept on and underrated artist in my opinion and i cnt wait til the third installment of his work. I support real hiphop....I dnt really like the track its laid over but the power of the lyrics shine thru regardless.....
@john69citizen Oh, the second quote is from "Popular Demand Freestyle", if you want to look it up, it's also another lyrical masterpiece by the CHA-Town-Guevara !
Let ME put you ALL on Game... This song describes one of the 4 characters that Lue created on this Album. First theres Michael YoungHistory and The Cool, they are the same person Michael Young History is the alive being and The Cool is the ghost of MYH. Theres the Game, who is introduced in this song and there is also the Streets.
@imdarecord. Ahh Dude, you're basically right. Lupe added a creative effect to this song. He talks from Shaitans (the devils) perspective, hense the 'I's' n' all :)
Lupe is far beyond his time; he's in all honesty nothing less of a genius. The game is the devil; but there are some "Christians" who choose to play with the game and the streets, so they can gain the status of being cool. Their lives are eternal shambles...
no question is stupid if it's from the heart, right? ok, so in the song, the identity of the character here is meaning that he's the Devil? (i don't read Arabic)
I dont remember the name of the song but lupe said something like "god forgive me for sellin my soul" or something close to that. u dont necessarily have 2 agree with me, u can look all of this stuff up for ureself and make ure own opinion on it. Pce
@mazrahlover24 Well, you could also argue that the devil is talking to the "Game" after the "Game" had the "Cool" killed and kinda reveiling that he had only used the "Game" all the time to do his bidding, hence: "They love my darkness, I've made them heartless and in return they have become my martyrs." But hey, that's just a speculation on my part. ;-)
thats sweet " one of the oldest most ancienest things, speak every single language on the planet NO WHAT i mean" get it refering to the languages =] thought i might add that.
Wow, once I heard this song I knew what he was referring to. Seeing "shaitan" in arbic at the end. It means the devil. remember Jay-z is the one who hooked lupe up with his record deal. If u look up the illumaniti and all that stuff u'll find out that jay-z is one of them which is how lupe was exposed to this stuff. its the main reason y lupe is retiring after only 3 albums cause he didnt like wat he saw.
no, since when is the best rapper the best educated one? its about who got the best rhymes. i aint sayin rap about anything and you can be a legend, lil wayne, gucci mane, drake, talk about that bullshit but theyre fuckin terrible lyricists, eminem talks about wtf he wants, which actually isnt materialistic at all, he raps political, personal, and he goes overboard on some horrorcore shit sometimes, but the bottom line is hes a lyrical god, listen to hellbound, it proves my point
bullshit. eminem is a lyrical god, bottom line, being the most intellectual out there doesnt make you an incredible lyricist, lupe happens to be both, but if were talkin strictly rhyming, flowing, and not worrying about people tossin their shit out cuz they say what they want and not what people expect... lupe cant see eminem, not on a strictly lyrical level, as a matter of fact nobody can, not even nas, eminems rhyme scheme is too damn difficult and complex, fuck substance, lets talk rhymes
BTNHwishbone Rhymes huh...rhyming is one thing but creating smart rhymes that loop together and have productive meaning and content is another. Grow up!
@john69citizen All I can do is quote Lupe, The Jedi, himself: "It's never cyclops, it's never I / eye alone !" (Beaming); "Jay gave me a co-sign like I was Rocawear, but be clear I'm not the heir / air, I'm the water, fire and the earth, That means I'm doing dirt, spitting flames and quentching thirst, And plus the real God has been on my side since birth. . ." You just can't be more obvious + I honestly think this Illuminaty stuff is just an internet rumor with no substance, but hey . . .
I swear Lupe is so underrated. Wish he was bigger than he is now. And he should really think about switching to another record label. Because LASERS took WAY too long to come out. Also, this is my favorite song. Not just Lupe songs, favorite song, period. I agree with you guys, the power of the lyrics is there, and he describes The Game perfectly.
It's starts out with THE COOL on his first album being the main character that's what his second album is called it's like five tracks telling you his story THE COOLEST introduces you to THE STREETS his girl.. in this one he introduces you to THE GAME the other character THE DIE is the death of THE COOL Lupe is the greastest FNF up Westside Chicago!!!
oh yeah and props to lupe...fuckin amazin lyricist. i used to love eminem and styles p biggie and the other really G rappers. but now lupe is my new favorite. he has lyrical talent AND a meaningful message. Most of the really good rappers only have the lyrical talent but not that many have a message to share and thats what i love about lupe
@PeterLeNigerian If you die telling that you played my game, I hop your bullet holes become mouths that say my name. If he stops rapping, he should at least be a writer. That line is the single most amazing thing I've ever heard. And it's gym, not gem, unless that was a typo.
@StateRunRadioMASHUP I dont think hes rapping as the devil. He's rapping as the "game" one of the characters in his concept album "The Cool". This song follows a song called "The Die", in which the Game kills the Cool.
rapping skills wise.. eminem is number one... lupe is number two... AS FAR AS MEANING, LYRICS, POETRY, AND EVERYTHING POSITIVE, LUPE WILL FOREVER BE THE GREATEST EVER
The most underrated MC of all-time, and one the greatest storytellers in the Hip-Hop game of all-time
Undoubtedly!!!
@kittiehart Key bars that sealed the deal for me of the character being Satan was.. "One of the oldest most ancientest of things, speak every single language on the planet...ya meen" or "These fools are my fuel,so i make them Cool(Fame,Fortune, etc.)"
1:46 + orgasmic... the power and realness of the lyrics and the beat...just amazing, almost shed a tear..
lupe is turning hip hop into what it should be... an art
I think When he says game he is talking about the culture as a whole that is being force fed to our generation. this is a good ass mix. if u aint never heard this joint u wuld think he rhymed over dis beat.
Awesome mix man, I'm loving it!!
ain't that song also called "Pills"?I think it's on the My Block MTV Chicago Compilation Album.
Let ME put you ALL on Game... This song describes one of the 4 characters that Lue created on this Album. "the game" is a personification of the drug game, pimp game, etc. put you on game is "the game's" song basically tellin u about himself
@imdarecord.
Ahh Dude, you're basically right.
Lupe added a creative effect to this song.
He talks from Shaitans (the devils) perspective, hense the 'I's' n' all :)
Love this song. Anyone know what the Arabic at the end says?
Listen to this song in real time, the original, so much slicker.. Got a version on my profile.
i want to download this but cant find a way to...

Extremely creative and perfectly executed highlight of Lupe's lyrics.
Great job.
Lupe and Eminem can't be touched...they're just too high up.
I'd love to hear a collab.
the songs about the evil nature in man.
thats sweet " one of the oldest most ancienest things, speak every single language on the planet NO WHAT i mean" get it refering to the languages =] thought i might add that.
damn, it says "devil" in arabic, at the end!!
yeah
Is he talking about god ( the safe havens, eing everywhere, the most acientest of things, all languages, blood of the city) or is the about the Devil?
I heard the regular version of this song and I have to say this version is better..the beat, slowed voice, and echo make sound...unearthly
the game is the devil
@raithxd2 youtube convert?
win
fort minor-cigarette
@john69citizen Who o.o?
@ThePeaceMaker09 It was a smart move on his part
VIDEO DOESNT WORK FIX IT

@imdarecord It might also refer to ignorance
The Devil.
These lyrics could have came from the devils mouth nd it would make perfect sense
too bad this is a fan made bideo because this is cool it really sounds like him great job hanaaB
@JustElijah those are people who claim to be christians not REAL christians they wouldn't sell out like dat I know
so dirty!

Lyrically it's okay, but I feel like I'm listening to a drunk or pot head who is otherwise intelligent.
No, I believe Lupe was raised as a Muslim.

pac aint shit to lupe. lupe is the best lyricist alive, over nas and gza and mos def all of them, pac is overrated and a weak lyricist.
I think the original beat is better but this mix isn't bad at all
@HuMiL1At0r Yes, I'm middle-eastern... I know how to read arabic lol
true, and produced by Soundtrakk, Dr. Dre, Cool and Dre or Timbaland.
@john69citizen All I can do is quote Lupe, The Jedi, himself:

I don't think that anyone is saying anything negative about eminem.
Just praise for lupe.
The difference is grace and finesse.
Also lupe became a muslim after the death of his father and he did a dua(prayer) for his dad live at a concert.
Thank you for confirming my impression as the correct on that you meant for me to get.
Again, I dug your song!
WOW!! I am so blown away by the power of the lyrics of this track! thanks for making this video!
