4 Days in Florence Italy | What to eat & do with kids in Firenze

- Without the crowds, I’ve never seen a more beautiful Florence ♡. We drove to Florence 4 times during our 2 month summer stay in Chianti Tuscany Italy. It was a short 35 minute picturesque drive especially in the early mornings while jet lagged.
Our usual Florence day trip sharts with a walk along the Arno river from our parking spot right outside the “pedestrian only” zones. Then we start the day in the heart of the city, Piazza Repubblica with breakfast at the historical Caffe Gilli looking out to the fun carousel & Arch of Triumph behind it. The kiddos are addicted to their pancakes & cold chocolate. We’re addicted to their plain omelet & Bloody Marys.
The first day, we start with reservations at the Uffizi at opening. It was empty. **A great tip, is to bring your stroller! You enter the opposite end so you really have the entire place to yourself.
Another day we started with a horse carriage ride around the city center. And also the famous market to get some groceries.
But we always made it back to Caffe Gilli. To take a break and get some delicious food. And follow up with some gelato. Also lot of sightseeing before heading home to spend the rest of the day relaxing at the villa.

Best ever paninis at La Nicchietta in Calimaruzza. 1st is a eggplant, cheese & tomato deliciousness (almost like lasagna). 2nd was their most popular, salami with a creamy subtle goat cheese. Then we grabbed some Venchi gelato around the corner. Mines was 1/2 strawberry & 1/2 milk. Also the best gelato is Vivoli, it’s about 15 mins walk from the center.
What wonderful memories in one of my favorite cities.
