I used the XS for about 2 years, but have just upgraded to the 13 Mini because of its cratering battery life and the impending loss of the latest iOS. If it wasn’t for the latter, I would have simply bought a new battery, as I loved that phone. I made a conscious decision to buy it, over other similar models, and never regretted my purchase. iPhone 11. Better battery, more years of software support, better cameras. The only good thing about the XS is the OLED screen. The rest, iPhone 11 is superior.

Xs and Xs max will get iOS 18 you may not get all the features but you will probably get 50 to 60 % of the features and the improved Siri AI features

I would say as long as it has 80% battery health or more you should be fine.
