Ruby Mountain Backpacking

- I had an amazing trip backpacking in Nevada's Ruby Mountains. To have an entire area to myself on a solo trip is exactly what I wanted. I had to deal with high winds the entire weekend but had an incredible time. I did take my float tube which worked well, however I forgot to turn my go pro on for that fishing session. Enjoy the trip. The next video from me will most likely be from Utah's Highline Trial, which I start on July 10. If I'm lucky i'll be out one more time before that. See you all on the trial. Tight lines.

Thanks brother. It's a neat area and not too far from Salt Lake.

Just so much beauty with the lakes and mountains! ...and a sunset to really end the day on the right note...just the kind of experience that the soul desires...thanks for sharing and hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend! It was fantastic. Thanks for coming along.
Absolutely beautiful country Dustin... Beautiful lake!
Thanks Max. It's a great area to avoid the crowds at my local mountains.
Beautiful lake to have to yourself. Definite soul food.
Yes Sir. I wasn't expecting many people but was surprised I was the only one. Made for a perfect weekend.
Beautiful area, Thumbs up
Thank you.
Elite video.
Thank you
Bad ass intro! Fun edit and trip, Dusto.
Thanks brother.

Love that place! No Farve this time? Those Brookies seem to have gotten a bit bigger! Cool drone shots and the sunset time lapse was sweet!
I had intentions on making my way down there but the fishing was so good where I've struggled in the past. I chose to stay put around camp and enjoy the place.
Nicely done, This area is definately on my bucket list. What time of year were you there?
Bummer about your chair. I heard that much of the road up Lamoille Canyon was closed last year for some time due to landslides. But it was apparently able to reopen so I'll be keeping an eye on conditions here and hopefully hit it up at some point in August. The terrain I've seen of the Rubies reminds me a bit of the JMT but with a more remote/less crowded feel - and of course closer to Northern Utah :)
The road closure was brief. The road is all good now. I typically go here once a year and have been as early as mid-June and as late as mid-October. This area is stunning and you won't be disappointed.
This place would be great if it wasn't for the damn wind. The lakes and mountains are beautiful there. Who would expect that in Nevada of all places.
Yeah, luckily it was just wind and manageable. The area is stunning. I try to make it here once a year and am impressed every time.
Great video, my friend! Lovely hiking adventure! The nature is amazing, too.. Those mountains are incredible...Enjoyed watching it a lot! Cheers from Russia, dude , and how about visiting my channel as well? I've got something to share about camping hacks and tips ! Anyway, best wishes in your plans and beginnings! Regards, Yuriy!
Hey thanks for watching. I appreciate your comment. I'll certainly check your channel out. Cheers
What float tube are you running? How well does it break down? Want one that will work for the llamas to pack in.
This is the Backpacker Pro from Wilderness Light. It breaks down small and extremely light weight, which Is why I got this one. They make a lighter one, however, it doesn't allow the inflatable seat, which I wanted to keep me out of the cold waters as much as possible. I've had this tube out four times now and been very impressed with it. The only down side is cost, but, it's the lightest tube I could find and works well for backpacking.
