Dry mopping, A Lesson on Mopping up Without Using Water on the Bootleg Fire.

Mop up is dirty, dusty, ashy and generally arduous work. Mop up is key to securing firelines and increasing our percentage of containment. Sometimes, water is scarce or firefighters need to conserve water to be ready to respond to emerging situations, like spot fires or flare ups. When we mop up without water we refer to this as “dry mopping.” Favio Luna gives us a quick lesson on how to dry mop.
