😂 exactly. Clutch weight is a total BS. Flywheel weight is what is needed to store energy in the engine rpms. Clutch weight has about the same effect as putting on a heavy tube into the rear wheel.
Flywheel turns 3 times for every turn of the clutch. I saw somebody did the math on it and a clutch weight of 7 oz is equivalent to 1 and a half oz on the flywheel.
They make a lighter 12oz clutch weight if you have the stock non Rekluse clutch cover if you don't want to purchase a cover. The 16oz weight requires a larger a larger cover for clearance, I have tried both on my 300 and have stuck with the 16oz for single track, very tractable.
I know what you mean when talking about using your hands on bolts I’ve cross threaded a screw once and it’s cause I use a drill lol I don’t do that no more lmao
Also curious if you need a larger clutch cover. Purchased this weight for my Gasgas ex350f and noticed that the oil is now to the top of the site glass so I’m thinking even with the 7oz it will. What do you think Jay? It makes a noticeable difference and definitely makes it lug a little better.
I was wondering the same thing. The only thing I can think of is that you can disengage the weight when you pull in the clutch. I think the crank flywheel weight has more effect also, as it spins, (accelerates/decelerates), much faster than the clutch. He may not know any advantage himself?
You sound like a Mt. Bike rider from the mid 90's. Less grams and light bikes were the rage. Riders counting them for every component,------------------and hope nothing breaks.
Clutch weight vs. Flywheel weight is the elephant in the room.

You realize they're both always turning right?
@@heathcarr1105 clutch turns at a fraction rate of the flywheel. Takes much more weight to get the same inertia, or something like that...

Thanks, I did not know a clutch mod could be so fast and easy.
How cool would it be to have Jay as your neighbor.

Awesome upgrade!
Blais weight is a must.

He said in the video you do need a bigger one

It's a shame that they don't include flange head replacement bolts like the ones removed.
Good to know thanks!
What are your thoughts about running that on a 501 husky

Can i get a 3 pound clutch weight? And a six pound fly wheel weight.. and add calcium to the back tire?
I like to add small 19th century cannonballs to the rear tire
Concrete in rear tyer more power but a lot slower.
Jay, what is the difference between this and a flywheel weight? I have a 23 TX 300 that flames out a lot. Dont know which mod to do, thanks!

I’m assuming this is regular clutch only? No auto clutch?
More power sounds good,i just dont want more weight because that slows all engines down.
Depends on how slippery things are on the ground.
I have the radius cx clutch. Will this weight work with it
No
What gun is that?
First of all, I have a question for you, I would be very happy if you could answer me, I wonder how many grams of weight did you put on the bike?

Is a larger clutch cover required?

Someone should take this mans impact away! Jeezus
