- First time meeting goats, as you do, and Nathan had a lot to say about it! This kid is getting all petted out, the animals are taking over haha. We have a small patch of land beside our home and as we live in a farming area we are surrounded by animals too, we've often had sheep in here but they aren't nearly as friendly, they were with Phil (previous video) but no so much us humans! We sheep wired all of the fences to make it secure as the lambs were climbing through. Our grass must definitely be greener as they all love to break in to our little paddock but hey, now it's all safe it's a free for all, who knows what will turn up next haha. We get deer in the day, foxes by night, sheep now goats, I'm hopeful for a Shetland pony or a highland cow next...

While lambs are cute they are very skittish. Goats on the other hand are a bit more friendly until they start headbutting. I'd like to see the trio meet the goats and how they react to them.

I watched this video again. I thought when you stated, “Dexter will be the you tube star,” I thought Nathan said star. Which is pretty great because of the digraph. Your point (pardon the pun)?? When parents call attention to something to very little ones, they’ll point so naturally the baby will point too. Later on, parents teach them not to point at people or anything inappropriate. What Nathan is doing is perfectly normal for his age! It’s totally annoying to hear the, “MY kids didn’t do this or that…comment because it speaks to your arrogance.
Ironic that it’s the goats who are the docile and friendly caprine while the sheep are the cranky ones.
Goats are a wonderful choice, so social and curious. And great conversation starters for young children.
Btw, when teaching Nathan new words, you may want to break them down a bit, like speech therapists do. Ex. "guh - oh - tuh, go-tuh, goat!" with a bit of a punctuated-type gap between each syllable. The technique worked like magic with my elementary and middle school autism students, and would probably help all children. Once you get started, it becomes second nature incorporating it into everything you're doing. Highly recommend. Happy days! 💖
