Hey boss here's a tip for you when landing fish from this kayak. Take the wide keel gaurd tape and form it around the blue inflatable sections on each side. It is a game changer when landing fish such as catfish. The spines cannot pierce the tape
I'm a kayaker but don't have an inflatable. Have a 120 AutoPilot and also a Hobie Lynx. Obviously a good fisheman, I'm subbed. Thanks for taking me on a great trip.
Talk about a plan working. Nice first catfish. I'd be concerned about catfish spines and the inflatable too, expecially one in the 30 lb range. Smart thinking.
Cool Kayak, cool video.... I don't think you need to be quite as worried about your hooks puncturing. I saw a video of a guy who fishes twice a week and has hooks lying all over his iTrek. He says it's never been an issue. Super thick walls
Thank you for kind words. I actually did go out again and landed another big one on the kayak. Just had to wait for him to calm down. He is the one is that short video I made.
Great video on using your Itek 11. Just received mine last week and finished adding Hobie H rails using Yakattack adhesive mounts. I cannot wait to try it out. You mentioned that you miss the reverse feature on the Mirage drive. Why not just pull it up and re-insert in backwards, which would only take seconds?
I have not tried that. I do have 2 other outbacks that have the 180 system and that fits in perfectly. Your going to love the itrek. Only been using that one since purchase. Also thanks for the kind words.
Great video...but are these Hobie Itreks really that fragile when it comes to punctures? I thought they claim it to be triple layered drop stitched....? Either way, thank you for the video and journey. Subbed.
I was just being nervous that day for some reason. Since then I was able to land some big cats directly on the kayak. Thanks for the kind words. Tight Lines!11
I did part with it around March to a local friend who is enjoying it. I did appreciate the portability and durability of this kayak. I plan on fishing with him in the coming weeks so will do a follow up.
Would you recommend this kayak to another fellow river fisherman? Aside from fish poking holes in it...I've been thinking of getting this as its stupid portable (walking through woods) and can go very shallow (my local rivers).
Ever since that video was made, I have continued to catch catfish and some big ones. I now land every one on the actual kayak. I was just nervous on that video but no longer. It’s a great kayak and I do recommend it. Very light and easy to transport. Would get a set of wheels if your going to be dragging far.
I just took mine out today for it’s maiden voyage. The thing is amazing. I have absolutely no concerns with hooks (other than the 2/0 and 3/0 trebles on a few of my very large swimbaits (10” 6.5oz glides, etc.), but I’ll be using my Leverage Net to land anything other than 2lb largies. Fin spines can be razor sharp, and I do a lot of snakehead fishing. They keep fighting FOR EVER.

Holy Cow, what a fish! Great job. Love the inflatable
Thank you the kind words.
Great video ! i own an itrek 11 myself, this kayak is awesome for chilling or fishing. Enjoy 🚩
Thank you. Will be enjoying for many years
What a tank! Great adventure for sure!

Thank you for the kind words. The Hobie Lynx is an awesome platform. Tight Lines!!

Thanks for watching. I did finally land a big one on the inflatable. Just let him wear out first and slowly put him on my lap.
Even with an electric pump it will rake more then 5 min.

@@Myadventurefishing Well, if you have an extra 180 drive to use, I would use it. I believe the 180 drive is compatible with the Itek 11.

Can you do a 6 month review? What are your thoughts about it now?
