I’ll make you a deal Will. If you make a video, then I’ll watch it. Sound good?
One up: I'll like it even before watching because Will's content is always good!
That's actually one of the best comments I've seen in a while. Hope you don't mind but there is a couple of content providers I'm going to hit up with it. :)
@@ollipeter6311 did that too
@T A i forgot about ads, adblock ftw
I'll watch the ads
Narrator: little did Will know his dream to become a knife maker was over. He was doomed to become a power hammer repairman.
That's power hammer restorer...er.
I read this in Ron Howard's Arrested Development voice
But that's his best content. I mean that in no ill way. They are really awesome machines and it's really cool to see how they are out together. Will does a good job at getting it all fixed up in an fun and educational way.
He should buy, fix and sell some hammers for UA-cam. I'd watch the heck out of them. Lol
You just had to drop that in there.
@@sithus1966 “Drop” that in there... too soon. I still hear Will’s scream of frustration in my head when that power hammer took the tumble
Will.. so traumatised from all the filing at Alecs shop.. buys a machine that files for his own sanity 😂
What is happened Futter. Bitte Kooperation with Alex Steel
He should name it Will Jr.
@@sithinstructor Or 'Sandy' and stick his oilstones to a file blank lol
Will starts talking about Layout fluid, and I hear Alec in my head singing "Blue Dykem!"
A missed blue dykem moment at 7:38
As long as it isn't red
Blue dye chem no no haha :-)
Will should only use Red Dykem
It was called engineers blue when I was an apprentice in the UK 34 years ago :)
You're a monster. How could you upload this? I was just about to be productive.
🤣😂😅👍
honestly i was just getting on to play valhiem and now i have to watch my Montana mountain man work miracles!
there goes my homework time, now im off dreaming of blacksmithing!
bro i was about to go to sleep but now i'm legally obligated to not do so
Look at Will at the end crouched on top of his project like the Montana version of Spiderman.
Who’s jaw dropped when that first name plate came out looking just great!
When Will first (re)started this channel I expected a weak copy of Alec's channel. This isn't that. It's better. I love getting to see Will's particular personality shine through this channel. Keep up the great work!
Will was always the more genuine craftsman with the better personality. Alec is just a businessman with a hobby.
I should clarify - I love watching Alec’s channel, I’ve just also fallen in love with Will’s content
Will is a artist, Alec was always a bit too hyper and kinda annoying
To be fair Alec's channel is a weak copy of Alec's channel. He's a rich boy with a hobby.
I'm thrilled to see Will doing his own thing here.
Great video Will, I watched this video with my wife beside me on the couch, while I admired the power hammer, she quipped “that workshop needs some hanging baskets and flower boxes outside” 😂. Keep up the hard work, God bless.
“Boy oh boy, there’s gonna be things in the way.” cracked me up. Loving the content!
Will, the guys that built that hammer 125 years ago would be proud of you.
I look forward to the inevitable crossover episode with Hand Tool Rescue
Good to see that there are guys like you who want to take the time to teardown and restore these pieces of history. Alex was a good influence on you and you on him. If you post we will watch.
I think I speak for a lit of people here but I would 1000% subscribe to a channel with Will just restoring old power hammers. It's so cool watching the progression. Keep up the awesome work Will!
Will, she's an absolute beauty. I can't wait until she starts thumping away on some steel.
I'm sorry....but english is not my first language....may i know why u use 'she' instead of 'it' for the power hammer?
@@kirozz3503 cool question, basically it’s common tradition to name cars, boats, or any other “man” project item as a female. So by extension so is the power hammer.
@@tak-cc3em oh i see...now everything seems logical to me....really appreciate it dude
@@tak-cc3em I've always personally assumed that it's a weird holdover from English not having gendered words despite being in close proximity to all the Romance languages (which DO have gendered words).
I'm sure there's a linguistics professor or undergrad out there writing a thesis on it.
@@kirozz3503 a term of endearment to some takes the form of referring to things as "she"
Honestly, this power hammer is so much nicer than your last one! Might have been a blessing in disguise that you broke it. This one looks like you will actually have it up and running soon.
Don't jinx him!
I still have PTSD every time he moves a big part...
I'm so glad Ethan Harty still has some sort of relationship with the Montana smiths with his music in this channel. He's such an awesome talented blacksmith worth following too.
The music/audio was so much better in this video. You just keep getting better at UA-cam with every video man. You are already great at your craft and I'm happy to see you getting the shop up and running.
Good for another 120 years. Seriously, knowing that there's young men like Will in the world keeping skills alive, gives me hope for the future 👏
Will, I much prefer your videos over Alec's. You're a very humble person and many people aspire to have your knowledge. Keep up the good work. Blessings from New Mexico
Yes! A video! It is often so difficult for me to watch your Instagram lives and I feel like I am missing so much of what you are doing.
Anyone else more excited to see Wills videos these days?
You're gonna need some lights in there mate. 'Twas a bit dark. :D
Hey, Wil. Thanks for touching up the volume. This time it seemed a bit easier to hear you when you're talking in the shop.
Wow, that thing is coming together! Keep at it. You got this, man!
Okay, I love the editing style you're developing. Feels natural to who you are.
I first saw you, Will, on an old video with Alec (way back before he moved to Montana) , and then you and Alec worked together for a couple years.
I'm excited to see what you do with the channel, especially when the shop is completely setup and ready to go!!!
Best of luck to you, sir!
I can't believe we had to wait 10:10 to get to the "Will riding the powerhammer" shot. Still no saddle...
More of that content in wills onlyriding channel
Don't bag yourself out Will. No-one is successful and a big deal, until AFTER they start out. You'll shit this in mate. Stay true to yourself. Don't copy anyone else, because there is already one of them out there. You're Will Stelter!
Wil, I have to make two recommendations at this time: 1) Order in a thread tap for that hole and run it through to "fix" the threads. 2) Order in a thread file for that size set screw. There's nothing like doing the job correctly.
The diggity dad-gum springbox. Love you, Will.
First we like it, then we watch it.
Yeah! Go Will!
That is a real old beauty! Well worth the commendable patience and attention to detail.
I truly love how much attention to detail you have shown to the Beaudry. It's a magnificent and beautiful machine.
I love the style and voice you are giving your channel. You're rocking it, Will! All the best and good luck to you and Isaiah. Much love from Czech Republic!
"Were gonna file it down, because it's hecked."
LANGUAGE! 😂
I find it frustrating that after all the amazing work will did with alec, that atleast half of his subscribers havent come and subscribed to will's youtube channel! Really hoping your channel continues to grow to a point that you deserve for the work you do will ❤😁
Agreed! I've been following Alec since he started, and followed Will over. I follow both now, but I love his approach!
this is a comment because you deserve one. keep them videos coming.
AWESOME VIDEO WILL Thanks for the heart I've been watching alec and you closely over 4 years of work!
where did the heart go?
Can't wait till you're all setup and cranking out content.
We're here for it brother!
Love the simple style of the videos. No need to overproduce
It's great to have you back Will
Somebody needs a few lights!
I really appreciatie the cool and relaxed atmosphere.
Doing an awesome job...thanks for taking us along!
Your resto on the hammer came out great man! Glad to see that old piece of iron in such good shape! Can't wait to see it run (as I'm sure you feel as well!)
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Recreate this intro for every single video!!!
Beautiful Will!! I'm a Firefighter in New Bedford Ma just outside Boston....I love seeing how many amazing Tools and Machines were made in the Boston area..... Awesome video brotha
Ah, it's so good to see y'all are still hard at work! Your ingenuity at finding ways to fix old tools gives me some hope for the future generation. Have a good time in TN. See if you can get to the range with Jason and Johnny B, while you're there. Pax~
I'm watching you tear down a giant piece of machinery and thinking to myself, you know you could just pickle those brass plates to clean them. I've never felt more like a useless backseat driver. The Hammers looking awesome and I'm excited to see what you do with it!
i love that rust converter finished look
The original plates was an awesome touch!
You make grandpa work 50 more years, good job will!
It's looking great Will, can't wait to see that big beautiful beast in action pounding Steel.
Awesome progress! What a monster. This thing is gonna move some metal.
Very fun to see the restoration. Prob more fun to just buy a new, huge power hammer and get to work.
If I ever win the lottery, would totally send Mr. Stelter one. Until then though... lookin' forward to more of these vids!
That hammer will end up in better condition than when it was new. Looking forward to your next upload!
I really, really, REALLY like how you put things together. Always was a fan of being thorough. This more methodical, accurate style of working is a breath of fresh air compared to how Alec does things (at least in his videos). And don't get me wrong, this hectic, panicky, hyper, "that'll do" and then "doing it twice or thrice because the first time failed due to rushing or unpreparedness" thing is fun to watch, but it also kinda starts getting on my nerves at times.
Great to see your shop is comming along, looking forward to see the amazing and creative things you are going to produce out of it.
no need to apologise for the audio will, it's perfectly fine. and besides nobody has perfect audio at the start, I mean have you seen alec's first 10 videos? x)
Yeah, the audio is fine, but for people wearing headphones... I would really appreciate the use of a lav mic or something to level out the sound? I'm not a sound engineer, tho, so maybe it's something else. Let me know where to contribute to the mic fund! I'll do my part!
Man so glad you cleaned those plates.
Stick at it Will, you are doing a great job.
Great job man, them brass plates give it that proper finishing touch.
I rebuilt a number 7 a few years ago. I took the oilers off and put on zirk fittings. I do oil the two ram guilds with 90 weight oil. I tape on a rag over the ram opening after I oil the rollers because it throws oil all over you. Beaudry's like oil. I had to make new rollers because they were never hardened and wore flat on one side. My advice is make all of your hand held tools with no bigger than 5/16' handles. They can bend without breaking your arm. I fabricated at tower and have a 7-1/2 HP 2 phase motor. Normally you would want the drive pulley larger than the driven hammer pulley. I used a 10 inch pipe and fitted it with to pillow blocks. The 10 inch pulley will not work, SO, I covered the pulley with silicon rubber and now it works fine. I have it geared to 225 RPM as the brass plate instructs. I run two V belts from the motor to the drive pulley and a 5 inch belt, as original on the drive and driven pulleys. I hope that helps. PS, I still have the Hammer.
Coming along great! Nice little hat-tip to Josh Smith on the t-shirt too.
Will, I love how you are preserving the history of the hammer as you rebuild her. She's a beaut. Keep up the good work.
I like the Intro Song, Yeah
please don't knock this one over! My heart can't take it.
She seems too girthy at her base to tip over, so she seems good and steady.
Will, as probably mentioned somewhere in the comments, you really need to get a set of thread files. Makes cleaning up buggered threads very simple a quick. Grab a set of metric and SAE and you're good. A set is around $30 or so... I can't tell you how many times they have bailed me out of a jam with an odd or not available bolt.
Plus one to this, saved many expensive pieces of machinery with thread files
Nice clean up job on the Power Hammer Will, she's looking mighty fine..almost like new. I hope it runs like new for you once you get it thumping.
Loving seeing the shop coming on, can’t wait to see what you have coming up!
Thanks Will. Keep uploading and we will watch. All the best.
Those plates are beautiful little pieces of the hammer, what awesome details
Grate work Will!
Awesome! So cool to see these noble old workhorses being given renewed life! And those original label plates are fabulous.
Excellent work!
We love you Will!
Nice video! I enjoy watching you refurbish old machines.
That's a beauty of a hammer, got her looking pretty good. Can't wait to see you getting some use outta her
Love these equipment restoration vids!

Really enjoy watching your work process and the fact that you always have people around you to help you out with both manpower and equipment speaks volume yo how you conduct yourself both in business and other parts of life.
Excited for the new business. Can't wait to see what you make first at the new shop
