One detail I’ve always liked about this trailer is that during the sparring match scene, the man’s attacks and moves are always punctuated by these brutal shakes and vibrations, while the woman’s seem very precise and fluid, but neither comes across as more powerful as the other. (Not saying names for the sake of spoilers for those not caught up)
I love shot at the end where we pull out to see Kugane(the city), then pull back in following the bird. The whole pull out, pull in gives me big FF7 opening vibes and I can imagine that would be very hard to pull off in live action.
Another Yojimbo reference in 14 is in the Gold Saucer, where a tall samurai of the same name runs a minigame where he slices massive stalks of bamboo and you have to dodge where they land. (also i'm pretty sure Yojimbo in this game is Gilgamesh in disguise)
Samurai is my second job after my dark knight main. Fun stuff. Also, I really think you'd change your whole opinion on the 14 story if you could just get Heavensward. Which I know is part of the problem haha
I know you said you didn't get into FFXIV playing dragoon, did you unlock any other jobs/classes? Warrior or paladin, conjurer, or magical dps (arcanist and thaumaturge) may be something you like better or perhaps it was the story. I just found your channel so I'm not exactly sure why you didn't get into the game. My main job is dancer (which came out in Shadowbringer) and the job I enjoy most after that is red mage (which unlocks when you hit 50 and dancer unlocks at 60 and are in starting cities). I've never played any other FF games so any refences to the other games is lost on me, but I enjoy the game all the same. I did enjoy my playthrough of ARR, plus the story is great. The team improves their game crafting over the years to what it is today, not that it was horrible, I think they all were new at mmos so they can only improve when learning new things. Anyway, just thought I'd suggest another type of job since I thought I heard you say dragoon. I did forget to mention archer (it can be a bit slow until you level up some) and pugilist is a fun class, well I think it is anyway. lol Have a great day!
I don't love it as much as the Heavensward trailer, but that's probably because they refrained from putting spoilers in this one. It shows the new jobs, new locations, and the general aesthetics of the expansion, and with that they did a great job.
I can understand ARR can be hard to play through when you're not a MMO player, but (as everyone probably told you already) Heavensward and Shadowbringers are just amazing, these expansions are independantly as good as a traditional FF game. I didn't like Stormblood as much, eastern culture-vibe saved it for me, the story was too politic-war based for me. Take your time to finish ARR, do a little bit of main story quest, when it's getting boring or too much of a grind, go do something else, there is SO MUCH to do in FFXIV (have you been to the Gold Saucer? Have you tried a crafting job ? etc) About the Stormblood OST, I'd say "Earth, Wind and Water", also Suzaku's Theme is a great battle jam ! (which is pretty much the case for every Trial theme... " Beauty's wicked wiles" is a great one too)
I recommend the previous ones, the first one is A new beginning or End of an Era, pretty much the same thing. Or if you cleared Coils of Bahamut, Flames of Truth, still the same thing but with additional content from the end of Coil Heavensward content spoiler from the end of ARR so recommend finishing ARR first Dragonsong also contain the same spoiler as Heavensward trailer
I hope that you properly play FFXIV soon. Story & music are mindblowingly good but Shadowbringers is out of this world and way too emotional. Will you upload the playthrough to Yt?
Bro 2.1-2.55 is a slog but the 2.3-2.5 narrative starts to get really good and goes somewhere interesting it leads into heavensward really well which is where the narrative reminds of how good final fantasy can be And shadowbringers celebrates how great the brand really is and will be at the hands of business division 3 and all its amazing devs and writers

I also got into 14 recently, this trailer blew me away the first time I saw it

Woah! That’s awesome!
He is, he’s also the final boss of kugane castle, and one of the mechanics is to stop daigoro from collecting coins for his attack
Im a WAR main, CELL CLEAVES GO BRRRRRRHHH!!...

Loving your videos.
Your video description is about the pixel remasters still, LOL! Word-for-word from the other video. Was that intentional?

I agree with the comments, 2.1-2.3 is a slog, but 2.4 onwads is just pure final fantasy narrative
