Two portals likely opened up on the floor beneath you, plus the stairs out were probably open. When I run on the goblin caves if I don't see any portals open when the last red stopped, then I start moving to the lower floor or the stairs.

yeah in hindsight I defiantly should of cut and run, was rookie mistake i wont make in early access
