I have a solid tungsten cube measuring two inches on a side, and it's a monster. It weighs five and a half pounds, which is absurd for its small size. Every time I pick it up, I am surprised by how crazy heavy it is. I never get used to it. It feels almost like there must be magnets pulling it to the floor, because it breaks your brain that something can be that dense. If I were to accidentally drop it on my unprotected foot, I would absolutely break some toes. The cube must be treated with respect.
@@ahmadmneimneh Those sort of decorations can focus the light to a point hot enough to ignite flammable materials. It's not common, but it can happen depending on how well the decoration focuses the light how close objects are to its focal point.
@@Anthony-ps5tt i dont think thats possible for those specific decorations. I'm pretty sure that since its making rainbows, it wont be focusing light, since rainbows are simply the different colors of light seperated from each other. I dont think it would be focusing light at all.
@@AirPodzol yeah you're probably right, I was kinda thinking that too when I watched it again. I think the ones I've heard about causing fires are more spherical.
That's why the Wilesco steam engine has the little holes in the metal frame - so ist is easy and fast to bolt on a wooden Board. And this ist the D10 - the cheapest of the range. My favorite is the D30. More power at lower RPM an a very nice sound!
The steam engine is perfectly fine vibrating that much. Since that model is a single piston wobler type, you can expect it to feel like an old Nokia. I suggest adding some rubber pads to lessen the worrying sound and subsequent displacement through the table
You really shouldn't use those fuel tabs. They emit toxic fumes when lit and if used, should only be done outdoors or under a fume hood. The better option is to pack the burner with cotton wool and soak it with at least 91% Isoporpanol, methanol or denatured alcohol. It will be safer, burn cooler and be more controlable as to burn time.
Are there balls in that inverted dishes thing at the front? It may or may not have a centrifugal governor AKA a fly-ball governor, a rather key bit of equipment. Though such should be placed on the inlet for the cylinder. A governor would regulate the amount of steam and so the flywheel would not be able to spin too fast.
I went to this tractor and gas engine show (believe that's the name), well one trailer had 3 massive engines on it. Like 1910s era engine to like move a converyer belt, the trailer wobbled so much it was cool to see
Basically when the fuel is lighted the water in the chamber heats to a boil causing steam to go through the little tube in the top, I'm not 100% positive how the steam powers the wheel in thes model, usually a piston is pushed using the steam (and a little push of your hand) if you push it enough the pressure from the steam will take over and push the piston back and forth. Unfortunately these engines almost produce no torque so there almost useless
@@stopmotiondoctorsbut real steam engines produce amazing amounts of toque, the little models suck, but the real ones make so much toque that they out toque a modern engine

The speed of the Wilesco steam engine is totally normal, but you're supposed to secure it to a wood board.
