Because they are husks of a person. Think about it. Would any person with critical thinking faculties, a personality, hobbies, etc be a "stan?" Nope. These people are sad.
It’s actually quite simple. They have no inherent value in themselves to the point where they have to latch on to someone successful with the delusion that person will acknowledge their husk of an existence or to just live vicariously through them

This actually is really interesting to see because from what he said, it doesn’t seem like he’s simping for them. He seems like more of a fan that’s been helped by them in more ways than just “meat UFC” material if you know what I mean. Like if he got a tattoo of a famous UA-camr or streamer that was a guy, I think it would be less hated on. I think that most people, just like I did, assumed that it was a tattoo because he’s a simp that gives his whole paycheck to Pokimane and Valkyrae whenever he gets the chance.
I mean I understand people finding the tattoo weird and all but you can’t really blame the guy. There are a lot of people who have struggled in life and was ‘saved’ through entertainment. Just like how some people would like to get a tattoo of their favourite artist to show their love and support, there are those who would get a tattoo of their favourite streamer too.
Honestly the convo was pretty rational and it seems like the streamers means a lot to them. Definitely not something someone “average” would do but their reasoning and meaning behind their tattoo seems pretty legit to me.

Why should we fight? What should we fight? Since I can't find many reasons to start a war over I guess we can just sit back. Unless..that's the issue. We can't sit back because of the peace. We have to create discourse and conflict to bring us together somehow. We cause chaos to bring peace. If this is the path we must walk on then I'm definently on board with this message. Let's troll the government first.
@Jaylyn Flow "resonate" as if she even knows you exist lol, she isnt even friends with the simp, there is no point in resonating with someone who you arent even in a relationship with
I know a guy that got a streamer's icon tattooed on his arm. It wasn't just about the streamer. It was about the community and many friends he had made by becoming a part of that community. Neither of us still watch the streamer much or if at all, but we are still close friends.
You’d be surprised how offen weird people manage to find each other and sort of form a clan which ends up keeping themselves weird and encourages behavior.
I feel like everyones lives are just composed of stories, if this guy feels like Pokimane or Valkyrae have personally altered his story in a positive way, then his choice is one I can understand and respect. However, if he got the tattoo specifically to show Poki and Valkyrae his love and adoration for them, then I pity the poor guy, because neither of them would ever care about anyone who isn't a friend, family member, or romantic partner.
Valkyrie made a post a few months ago asking how many people have gfs/bfs that watch OTVs/her streams and 92% fkin percent were single these simps are people to they just need love :( 💪😭😭
Opti, I rarely ever comment on any videos, but I just wanted to say in general I'm a huge fan of your videos, and I really enjoyed your journalistic approach used in this video, and others. Keep up the great work dude
So are we just going to look past the fact that this guy was on the edge of ending it because of how hard life is. Being someone that has those kind of thoughts since a young age I can understand why he did it. At least he not bulling and sending death threats. To be clear don't watch either of the girls because I don't find them that entertaining personally.
Moral: You shouldn't let a youtuber, anybody online, or anybody that you've never met in person before influence ur life like that. They don't know you and don't care what happens to you so relying on them when ur dealing with life problems should never be the case
I can respect the whole doing it cause they helped you thing, I would’ve gone with just a twitch logo rather than names if I was them but do whatever you want
I feel like a lot of people have not seen the entire video and are just commentating, "oH pOkImAnE sTaNs aRe dOwN bAd hAhAhA." That's what most of the internet first thought when they saw the picture of the tattoo. Honestly, I thought the person who posted it was a down bad simp too, but after watching the entire thing through, I can sympathize with the person. They got the streamers tattooed on their body as a thanks to helping them out of a bad place. Anyway, that's my two cents.
Yeah I don't get it either. I feel the same way about certain celebrities. I feel like Lupe Fiasco, his music, his message, I found like I found him at the right time of my life to start changing how I look at the world. He's had a huge influence on my life. I still have never even considered getting any kind of Lupe Fiasco tattoo....ever....though the A from his Lasers album would probably be dope.
People who say a ytber "saved their life" is pretty much always lying or grossly exaggerating. It's like people saying they want to die vs the people who actually attempt suicide.
Actually, I'd argue that unless you're a content creator and make a living out of watching content to make content and get paid, online-savvy people don't watch Twitch regularly, precisely because they're online-savvy.
some people are fans for reasons like that and i totally understand it even thought some of us may not like zed person they got a tat of but it does have its own little design and and she feels happy that she got 2 influencers that helped her through rough times. seeing something like that makes me smile
Bruh I was thinking about getting the Kanye dropout bear as a tattoo. When you mentioned tattoos, I thought of it and was surprised that you brought it up lol.
Do you even have an idea, how many people are running around with tattoos of musicians and other celebrities on their bodies? I am not shocked by this at all and I think you're kind of overselling the whole thing.
@@MarcoSubZero Musicians have songs, lyrics that can hit you hard, a career, a background. Pokimane is just sitting there, eating silently while watching (reacting?) videos. Her content is trash and she is really toxic and manipulative, that's disgusting. Musicians and artists are not perfect either, but compared to her, it's not difficult to guess which one is more inspiring than the other
@@legacymse7095 It's not about who is more inspiring though. What if this person sits at home, feeling really down, turns on Twitch and sees someone just eating and watching stuff and then joins in. I'm not arguing here whether or not she is a nice person, or a good person, because I simply don't care, but there's different reasons why people might get a connection to someone. It can be literally as simple as just sitting there, watching something with her that kept his mind off of things that kept him going, it's very hard to just criticize him for it when we don't know what they are going through and why specifically this helped them. Obviously professional help is way better and I'd recommend that over forming a (one-sided and sometimes harmful) online bond, but still.
Why am I not surprised the person who got the female twitch streamer tattoo is struggling with their gender identity, its always them rainbow people doing the wacky stuff.
People like that are pretty pathetic but I can’t blame someone for being in a bad place, I blame streamers for acting like they have “community’s” that are like this giant family when in reality they (streamers like pokimane) uphold a persona for donations and livelihood.

@@aironcullen True, you should probably get help if you're suicidal instead of relying on getting over it yourself, but I think it's not that weird either.
@@Ixe2077 interesting way of seeing how peace and war are done though human concept
@@Ixe2077 that explains why everyone secretly loves drama lol

Gruncle Stan
Aight real talk, how tf can you laugh at Pokimane's jokes? How can that person save your life?
@Jaylyn Flow weirdios
@Jaylyn Flow "resonate" as if she even knows you exist lol, she isnt even friends with the simp, there is no point in resonating with someone who you arent even in a relationship with
I will forever support this man for the amount of revenue he donates. you’re a good man optimus, happy Sunday homie.
I know a guy that got a streamer's icon tattooed on his arm. It wasn't just about the streamer. It was about the community and many friends he had made by becoming a part of that community.
Neither of us still watch the streamer much or if at all, but we are still close friends.
Wait, Pokimane Stans have minds?
Nope they never HAD one
@@NotJohnTanner never had one, never will have one
@Dreamer to be fair both are bad
A true mystery…

Everyone irl loves it? Who is this dude hanging out with?
You’d be surprised how offen weird people manage to find each other and sort of form a clan which ends up keeping themselves weird and encourages behavior.

Epic topic and all, but can we appreciate that tactical 'nade throw in 8:00 ? Pretty sick man.
poki thicc on the tags , Optimus is man of culture as well
I love this style of video with the interview
I feel like everyones lives are just composed of stories, if this guy feels like Pokimane or Valkyrae have personally altered his story in a positive way, then his choice is one I can understand and respect. However, if he got the tattoo specifically to show Poki and Valkyrae his love and adoration for them, then I pity the poor guy, because neither of them would ever care about anyone who isn't a friend, family member, or romantic partner.
Very enlightened pov Optimus. ❤ from 🇨🇦
Valkyrie made a post a few months ago asking how many people have gfs/bfs that watch OTVs/her streams and 92% fkin percent were single these simps are people to they just need love :( 💪😭😭
Idk if 92% is accurate, some may be trolls and/or just thirst trapping whether single or not
valkyrae actually a good youtuber tho pokimane not so much
Seeing that picture makes me sad and full of depression
Man nearly killed himself over being “misgendered” bruhhh 2021 hit different
That shawty need Jesus
Gg on 1 mil you deserve it!
He should have put it on his lower back.
So his gf can look at it while he's getting pegged.
Opti, I rarely ever comment on any videos, but I just wanted to say in general I'm a huge fan of your videos, and I really enjoyed your journalistic approach used in this video, and others. Keep up the great work dude
Did he call Poki and Val “talented?” 😂
@nopullout ken they mentioned being misgendered so im guessing its a dude w 2 holes either way, gunna be overly emotional about nearly everything ...
@nopullout ken Grown woman actually. And for some reason I find that sadder 😭😭😭
Listen guys they sell their soul to devil so they are celebrity
W video this was an amazing concept
When people are are at their most depressed and loneliest, they’ll worship anyone or anything that makes them feel something good. Anyone or anything.
its something funny that everyday on my birthday optimus uploads a pokimane video last year was the content crus aide this year this bruh
Bro i didn't know people were actually this down to the point of no return i thought it was just stereotype
You should make a whole series on discussing different stan communities. I think it would be a hit.
Really enjoyed your take on this good video
Inside the mind of a pokimane Stan:
“Oh look it’s time for therapy”
There’s a 40 year old man with a jaden smith portrait tattoo
Moral: You shouldn't let a youtuber, anybody online, or anybody that you've never met in person before influence ur life like that. They don't know you and don't care what happens to you so relying on them when ur dealing with life problems should never be the case
I have been waiting for this video. I’m so happy it’s here.
So basically these lonely men are trying to get the attention of someone who prolly is in a relationship and has more money than u have to offer.
You narrowed it down.
No. Did you watch the video?
@@Ixe2077 talking about the standom in general.
So a loser
I can respect the whole doing it cause they helped you thing, I would’ve gone with just a twitch logo rather than names if I was them but do whatever you want
Is it safe to say poki & Val are only social media “famous” bc they’re attractive girl gamers?
Val is actually pretty cool
@@kinginferno934 I don’t watch them but i went on her Instagram, rly cute
Poki? Attractive? I can find like 5 women that look better than her at my local convenience store.
Can you do more interviews like this? Because is very interesting seeing the other side of the story!
Well they are down bad, thats just how it is.
They were literally down bad
Misgendering from my family would be the dumbest reason to ever commit suicide, so yes, they were down bad.
uhm they were actually down bad lol.
I actually saw a pokimane stan in public the other day. It was truly a rare experience
Actually, I'd argue that unless you're a content creator and make a living out of watching content to make content and get paid, online-savvy people don't watch Twitch regularly, precisely because they're online-savvy.
I don’t think he meant it like that, pretty sure he was just referring to nerd culture
Optimus never disappoints
What’s inside is a whole lot of feet pics
i love how i was just watching your videos and then you upload lol
If I was Pokimane or Valkyrie then I would change my username because I find that hilarious beyond belief.
some people are fans for reasons like that and i totally understand it even thought some of us may not like zed person they got a tat of but it does have its own little design and and she feels happy that she got 2 influencers that helped her through rough times. seeing something like that makes me smile
Thing is she looks average to me but somehow made millions off her looks, it's puzzling to me.
The thing is simps as long as they get attention, they are willing to throw money to chicks until their bank account is dry.
@@lememe9781 how do people find out pokimane entertaining 🤔
This opened my eyes no cap
Yep
I thought dream stans were the worst
Nevermind that, *THIS* is the worst
I don’t think e-girl stans can even think properly at this point
Bruh I was thinking about getting the Kanye dropout bear as a tattoo. When you mentioned tattoos, I thought of it and was surprised that you brought it up lol.
Pokimane admitted she thinks her fan base is a bunch of simps
Poki/offline/and friends crew are full of Stan armies of kids and grown adults. It’s weird how they basically let the chats control them as well
Do you even have an idea, how many people are running around with tattoos of musicians and other celebrities on their bodies? I am not shocked by this at all and I think you're kind of overselling the whole thing.
Musicians are cool, not streamers
@@Ray-xj9sr they're both people, they are both a form of entertainment. So what's the difference?
I'm convinced Pokimane is just a Persona 5 Strikers Monarch
It’s hella weird, if they saved his life then it’s ok I guess. 🤷🏽♂️
Shopopti tattoo is kind of cool
Why am I not surprised the person who got the female twitch streamer tattoo is struggling with their gender identity, its always them rainbow people doing the wacky stuff.
The Alphabet gang always be doing the most
Optimus showing us MW3 because it was confirmed there is no MW3 remastered
People like that are pretty pathetic but I can’t blame someone for being in a bad place, I blame streamers for acting like they have “community’s” that are like this giant family when in reality they (streamers like pokimane) uphold a persona for donations and livelihood.
Brb, gonna get an Optimus face tattoo
She attracts 55 age groups. It's a sick economy. Just say no to machiavellian capitalism.
On a serious note I'm happy this person is better mentally. May he have a happy life
This guy doesn't need twitch streamers he needs help and a therapist.
« My family misgendered me and made me feel horrible » oh i see what kind of person it is.

Depression and anguish, as it should be.
EDIT: Holy sh*t I said that as a joke and I was correct. Honestly though, if that was the light in their day, I really don't care. If it makes them not commit suicide, then I can at least get behind it then.
@@aironcullen True, you should probably get help if you're suicidal instead of relying on getting over it yourself, but I think it's not that weird either. You see people all the time saying a UA-camr, or a musician, or a show, lifted their mood in dark times, and as far as we know, he wasn't necessarily a simp. I do agree the tattoo may be too far, but him just being a fan doesn't bother me unless he is a simp.
this is just getting sad man my head hurts just looking at it
most of these streamers are 'fake depressed' like most celebs so that people find them 'relatable'. take billie eillish for example lol
