Dude, you could have made a 3d model of the cap which is pretty easy on blender and looks real, pretty real, and add it using after effects or can add it in blender itself, blender is free too

Way to know if you are a born editor: you prefer to blur the brands you use on the shirt, sweatshirt, etc. in post, before going to look for something in a single color to avoid exactly that.
I take the opposite approach. "I don't want to spend an hour doing something that would take us 5 minutes and look better". So we sacrificed a lens puffer to squirt fake blood instead of using digital assets.

he was probably told by the client afterwards that he needs to blur out other brands. Things like that happen in the world of commercial work. Even for BTS content.
@@jezplaisance indeed it does generally speaking you never have brand names in a shoot, when doing videos for any reason i ALWAYS make sure no clients have anything logo/brand wise shown ever just in case ....

I honestly would have made a high quality 3D model of the bottle cap and CG it. I would have never figured out how to do that practically. The end shot looks super clean.
That would be way easier but whenever you can do practical do it. It always looks better than a janky animation but if you can animate it smoothly enough where it’s better than practical than go ahead and do it

I've got a question. It might sound stupid but I really have no idea on how to do this. I was at a downhill bike park the other day & I wanted to make a video of riders coming fast on a jump and capture them in the air at 120fps. They were coming fast from my right and there were trees blocking the shot to the right. I tried everything from manual focus to auto focus. Fast focus and large area focus but I couldn't focus on them since they were coming so fast & were moving in the air. Is it possible to do this kind of shot? Am I simply ignorant? Was there any way I could've focus on them? Please let me know!
Shinzu Music manual focus the area before hand and adjust the focus as they move
if the point is focus on the riders, and you're shooting in daylight and not really keen on bokeh or depth of field, maybe you can make sure your aperture's on max (usually 22) just so everything's better captured and there's minimal loss of focus. this way there's no need to manually chase after focus whenever they speed by.
The thing is that downhill is really fast, and slowmo needs ton of light, so if you don't have enough light and plus that you have a high speed object, the shoot will be harder. You should keep the camera steady and manual focus the area.
@@hfranzua Helps if you have a focus ring. You can set shot presets based on approx speed of the riders, and trigger the sequence at the right time.
Lock the focus on the bikes maybe and use a rotating stabilizer or something idk I don't have camera.
I took a video of dirt bikes starting the race with my father's phone back in old days with samsung galaxy S3 and it was perfect to me . Slow motion . Idk just saying some shit.

I feel like if your camera had enough frames to where the motion blue wouldn’t be a problem you possibly could’ve used an air compressor to shoot the bottle cap off, but that’s just a little idea that I had and the bottle cap would probably spin too fast. But it would be cool

Impossible shot idea: Make a knight come down and seamlessly cut right through some bread, something that wouldn’t do that in real life, etc...then make crumbs shoot out.

I would have cut the bottom of a bottle, then bring on a high air pressure Generator on the rest of the bottle and seal it up, the have the compressed air blow away the cap and simply Reverse the shot.
Well the problem would probably be the same as with his first method: you couldnt focus on cap randomly flying and would end with blurry motion

As a magician creating tricks for years. I recommend using what magicians call loops very strong very thin invisible elastic thread or even just a ITR they could really bring some pop to the video and help with editing
