Levi’s character is just a really interesting. At first glance he seems like your typical edgy OP black haired anime side character that all the girls fan over but his personality and thinking is really interesting me. He humanities strongest which sounds super OP but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s invincible, with all this power, he’s really modest about it, and in essence he doesn’t really bring it up or acknowledges it. And even with all this power he’s realistically OP, he gets hurt and makes mistakes and there isn’t these crazy flashy power escalations like with other characters. He seems to not care about people but he probably cares the most about them. Levi values human life a lot actually, sometimes he comes off as this bloodthirsty killing machine but the moment he found out titans may actually be human, he seemed the most terrified of everyone of the idea he was killing innocent people. He was worried when Hange got hit during the uprising arc, He was pained by his squad dying, he was conflicted with Erwins death and the pain he felt for Petra’s father when he talked to him was very real. he tries to keep casualties down the most and even sympathizes with the struggles of the refugees coming in and backing up historias plan to create an orphanage due to his own past. He actually has a very warm heart. He’s seems cold but that’s mostly because of the trauma in his past as well as keeping up this facade to keep moral up for both himself and the people around him. He’s lost so many people close to him that he had to force himself to not show the pain or regret or else that would muddy his future decisions. He doesn’t get mad at the soldier who went back to get his dead friend and led a hoard of titans killing off more people and even losing the dead bodies of Levi’s own squad. He sympathizes with him and tries to give him closure. He could of easily become a “ I’m all dark brooding but I have a soft side” kind of character but he’s so much more complex than that
Yup he got me into aot. At 1st I thought he is just a cool badass guy but I din't really see the hype until I began seeing his true character. For me, what I love abt his character the most is his mental maturity. And his words are honest and blunt and comforting when needed, like the time he tells Armin his comrades are alive bcus he got blood on his hands or the scene where he holds the dying scout's hands and reassures him his life was not in vain.

i love how instead of actually watching an anime you can just watch these videos about 2 or 3 of the main characters in that anime and you basically know everything without watching it
