so I told my husband the "Helicopter Lesson" as he drove me to Dartmouth Hitchcock for MY LIVER SCAN!!! And he said to thank you also Mary. What a good lesson for our family. It is now part of our family lore. "remember the helicopter lesson".

how hilarious!! I had my liver scan today! And I was SO HUNGRY !!!! I made my husband drive through on the way home!! So far it's fine, the scarring is just the same level, so very good news, even though it has trouble dealing with all my meds.... it is holding out for now. It's still unhappy, but doing the job for now! GOOD NEWS. :)

With hearing loss - I have never been on tobramycin but when I was 15, I almost failed English, never did my chores and my mom decided to take me to an audiologist just because. I had lost 35% of my hearing, and never failed a hearing test before I was 15

In West Virginia we have something exactly like a Kinder Egg, can't remember what they call them but they just have a chocolate coating around the egg and then a little plastic animal figure on the inside. They sell them at WalMart!

I'm 44 and I still love Kinder Eggs! I think I enjoy them more than my 14 year old son :) Luckily, I live in Canada and can purchase them legally....chocolate and all :)

I always get told I look younger than I am! When my aunt was in the ICU before she passed, the nurses kept asking if my mom knew that the age restrictions there were 14 and older. They thought I was younger than 14 when I actually had just turned 18.

They're banned in the US! Some kind of law about non-edible things in food? Though I've never heard of someone choking on a kinder egg! LOL, I guess I'm lucky to be Canadian ;). Whenever I see them at the grocery store checkout next to the gum I think of Mary and Peter now.

It's whenever her body needs it because with cf she basically always has a lung infection. She goes in to get iv meds to help and sometimes continues them at home.
You sure have great care from all your doc's, nice to see that, my doc is really not that great so your lucky and I am glad your getting great care. !!!!

The kinder cars work very well....I mean a lot of cars you buy that are suppose to do that stuff don't always work that well. I have three boys so have bought a lot of those type of cars.
My sister is 20, and when she was going through security at the airport she, as one does, started taking her shoes off. But then the security officer said "you don't need to take your shoes off, honey. You only have to do that is you are over 12 years old."

The plan is to replace it- as long as the surgeon can get it scheduled...we will keep you updated when we know more.

Hey Mary and Peter. Hope you are doing good in the hospital. I just want to say I think no matter what age you are from 20 to 60 if you like and enjoy opening Kinder eggs then that's okay and its always fun watching you open them and seeing if you got a good one everyone has a kid still in side of them and that's what you enjoy doing. I wish we can have Kinder Eggs in the US because i would be just like you Mary. Guys like Mary said you only live once and you can still be a kid know matter what age you are. I know I still act like kid sometimes too. Mary you keep being a kid inside that's who you are. The toys that they make now I wish they made toys like that when I was growing up.

I have hearing loss in my left ear 95%, at first my GP thought it was bells palsy but when my hearing got worse I went to the ear doctor and that's when he said I should've come sooner because it wasn't Bell's palsy. The reason I hadn't was my GP told me it would come back but by the time I went to the ear Doctor he couldn't do anything about it, but no one knows what caused it. Interesting that an antibiotic caused yours, I've been on so many meds, I wouldn't be surprised if that didn't have something to do with it.
