I had the same question. Except mine was "which two lines do i play?", cuz theres like 3 lines. Based on what i heard this person just played, i think yes u do ignore those 'x'. Then after the beginning part, u play the top line and 3rd line.

I believe at some points he chose to play the singer's line on the right hand rather than play the chords etc. that would have been for the right hand had there been a separate singer.
