Die Reise zu mir

Ich bin in Trier aufgewachsen und mit dieser Stadt einfach verwurzelt. Auch wenn ich schon über 30 Jahre weg bin, bleibt diese Stadt mit allem, was ich dort erlebt habe, in mir: Schule, Sport, Musik-Unterricht, erste Freundin, Fußball, Konfirmation, Tod meines Vaters, Hochzeit - vor allem aber meine eigene Entwicklung zu dem Menschen, der ich heute bin. Lange habe ich gebraucht, um das in Worte packen zu können. Jetzt hab ich's geschafft, so dass es Sinn macht. Und im Video tauchen viele Bilder auf, die mir sehr viel bedeuten.
Danke an Danny für die Zusammenstellung der Bilder so, wie ich sie brauchte.

I grew up in the German city of Trier, and that's where my roots have been and always will be. Even though I moved away more than 30 years ago, this city and all that I experienced there and all that it meant and means to me will remain in me forever: school, sports, music lessons, my first girlfriend, football/soccer, confirmation, the death of my dad, my own marriage - but especially my own development into the person I am today - are inextricably linked to this city. It took a damn long time for me to be able to put it all in words; but now I did it in such a way that it makes sense to me and that I can find closure and say, "Yep, that's the way it's got to be!" And the video contains footage that means a lot to me on a personal level and brings back all sorts of memories that ARE me!
