- Inverid's ReadID personal app, ReadID Me (previously known as NFC Passport Reader) reads and verifies the NFC chip embedded in electronic passports and other ICAO compliant identity documents (ePassport, or, in ICAO Doc 9309 terminology, Machine Readable Travel Documents: MRTD). The app optically scans the Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) to gain access to the embedded chip. It then reads the embedded chip and displays the biographical and biometric information of the document holder, as well as document information, after which security checks, such as Active Authentication, Document Signature Validation, and Country Signature Validation, are performed and detailed results are shown.

I have scanned my passport and chip using your app and it appears to be successful but when I click "next" I get back to the "get started" screen. How do I access my info because it is not located in my "recently downloaded" files?

Before clicking next you can use the Share button to send your information to yourself (on Android). On iOS this is not allowed. We provide ReadID Me primarily as a means to verify your personal identity documents. Sharing the data may be dangerous. Take care with that.

the app scan says that chip is ok, so this mean the ePassport should work at the airport, right?
Probably yes, the chip thus technically works, but the airport could e.g. have different so-called country certificates.

The passport includes a chip with your digital identity. The focus of our ReadID software is to read and verify that chip, which cannot be manipulated without being detected. The photo page is easy to manipulate.

I don't know how smart is to scan your passport with some unknown app guys. Be smart, this is how identity theft happens.

Samme For how far I know, ReadId is not an app made by a government or approved by the government. Let me rephrase it : the Dutch government is not listed as “Approved By”. You said you haven’t got a clue what’s going on, and in apps like this you don’t have a clue either. It’s about scanning your ID or Passport into an app that isn’t issued or made by the government. If you want to put your Passport in it, because it’s ‘meant to be open and transparent’, you do you.

My NFC said my passport is also "Authenticity Not Validated".. is that normal? because thats what i see in your video.. and my security option Country Signer is also "FAILED".. Because my passport got submerged in water last week so i thought the Chip inside is broken.

We can validate the authenticity based on the country certificate. If I need to scan, why would I need the NFC?
Scanning means reading the code on the document. That code (the so-called MRZ) is needed to be able to read the NFC chip inside the document. That chip can be read and verified with 100% certainty, meaning that all fraud cases will be detected. NFC is thus much more secure than just looking at the document. [WJ]

Through this app can i verified,my documents are authentic or fake like passport,visa , Resident ID card etc?
@@shahmohammadahmed1179 Yes, it is possible. You can refer to the "advanced" information to check if a passport, ID card or driver's license is authentic. Checking visa is (I think) not possible.

The personal data does not leave the phone, see also our privacy statement. Feel free to use the app without network connection.

Yes, should work without problems. Most but not all passports have a chip, please do check for the chip logo. See our ReadID.com website, under demo, for a FAQ.

The demo video is made with a specimen passport, i.e., not a authentic passport.
Don't ever take photos of your passport and send it to a non gov server. This app is sus folks.
The app does not send any data to a server. Feel free to turn off internet when using it, it will still work. We do gather anonymous data on type of phone or type of document. Check the ReadID Me privacy page for more info. [WJ]
