Insofar as "Dignity" is concerned, I believe it was co-written by Romain and Ren. I think it's about having difficult times and changing and just holding onto yourself throughout. The video, I think, shows the band clearly enjoying themselves, but aware it's going to end. I think when the video was put together just over two years ago, the writing was on the wall and Ren's health was going to have to be addressed. It's a beautiful song and Romain gives such a tender vocal performance and Ren really takes it home.
I also think Dignity is the feelings they want to convey when standing in front of a changing point, cherishing the moment knowing it can not last forever. When life goes on, people learn to leave things they once cherished along the way but the memories will live still and leave an impact on those who share it together. I think it’s a beautiful goodbye song to play on their last gig, but in the end I remember they did It’s alright. It’s okay too since it brought a brighter loôk upon their hiatus, but I still cant help imagining if they choose to perform Dignity, the whole dome would be drown in tears. It’s definitely my favourite song from The Big Push

He singing with his friends yeah it's a lil like begging so you gotta do it with humility but there's pieces of him in every street corner that he sung. They hungry & it feels dirty sometimes bearing yourself open in the streets in front of strangers. It might hurt your self esteem. It's a grind and some of them got ground to dust. You gotta have some dignity to keep it together.

I believe Romain is singing in this one too. I recognise his sultry tones at the beginning. He has a beautiful voice too. It's a tough song. It's hard to hold on to your dignity when you are being pricked and prodded by doctors and going through medical procedures. He probably feels like he's slowly losing himself when there is so many people involved with his health matters and such and probably literally feeling like he's dying, you know? Bless him. He has more than his dignity he has soul and a gift to share.

There are actually several versions of Blind Eyed: video, studio, busking, and angry car park attendant. My fav is the MC session (studio), and the parking lot attendant one. Do a double reaction in one video of Blind Eyed, choose MC session and then follow it up with the parking lot attendant version. I suppose this song could be interpreted a couple of ways. There are times and situations in our lives that can strip away your self esteem . You can lose things even parts of who you are . I'm sure Ren's struggles with his psychological and physical health could contribute to that . Anyone who has spent copious amounts of time in hospital gowns in front of virtual strangers can attest to that . Then there is the artist who puts his heart out there for all the world to see . The self esteem is going to take some hits For us "regular people " just every day life can can cause us to lose parts of ourselves. So holding on to my dignity seems like a blessing. I thought it was sweet how you guys were trying to figure out dignity. It really is a blessing that you haven't lived what would be needed to relate to it. I woke up with the tune stuck in my head and I didn't relate it to that song because the song was sad, but the humming it all morning didn't sound sad. I literally had to search my watch history to remember the song I couldn't get out of my head. Then I was driving in my car and Lost by Linkin Park came on. My first thought was, ' I never heard that song' then I thought, 'it's so sad he took his life' ... Then I listen and in the lyrics about depression, he sings "I Lost my dignity"... I came home and rewatched the video and the song is so sad, but the video is really not sad at all. I don't know if it was influenced by Linkin Parks Lost, but part of me thinks that he made it for himself to help him when things got really dark with his illness, to remind himself of what is important... I could be wrong but that's what it feels like to me.

i feel its important to distinguish the difference between dignity and pride in the light of this song. i think the lyrics are expressing the final stage of a personailty breakdown of the ego, i.e. a human brain in pain facing death. this death can happen on many levels even. but dignity is driven by desperation to live in the good, where pride is the ego fighting a challenge. for example, pride is the defense mode for someone perceiving their rights to be challenged,, their rights being their dignity,, pride can make people do terrible ignorant inhuman things where i believe Ren's use of dignity is the most human modes a mind can break down to. i dunno if this makes any sense. its a new thought for me

I have autoimmune illnesses that I've had 32 years. When you are diagnosed with chronic disease knowing there are things changing in yourself that you can't seem to stop. It becomes a battle of holding onto every part of who you are. It is disease changing you. It's a fight to remain you and not just a disease. Disease makes you feel inferior, less than because you are constantly battling changes. It's never good for someone to tell you " you're a complex case" Dr's will definitely begin to see you as a bag of symptoms and not human. I always joke drs don't have the answers but they're still practicing at it. Maybe one day they will get it right

Self esteem can take a dive periodically but holding on to dignity will keep you real and keep you rolling on through life. You guys do a great job and you crack me UP periodically🤣
Sweet little lady is such a fun song..I was listening to it earlier and think it is a bit of a a play on the word sweet..I appreciated so much the Dignity reaction as I feel so personally connected to it.. the funny thing is that I seem to have that effect on people with my deep thoughts so I wasn’t that surprised at your reaction..I know I😅 recommended it for this exact reason.. it is so important when you lose everything in life basically that means something to you to maintain your dignity seems far out of reach.. I think that is why people connect to this song.. honestly Ren had basically lost everything at one point being basically house bound in his 20’s and missing so much of his life while things went on outside his world.. I don’t think he ever expected what happened to him to happen.. even though he lost so much he found a way to retain his dignity and climb out of that dark place again and again only to emerge with the triumph of finally being recognized by his peers and fans touched by his struggle as well as fans that found The Big Push one of maybe the simplest and musically genuine and genius groups of its time.. Ren is currently in Canada getting medical attention. He originally planned to be there 6mos, but its looking more like a year before he can return. The rest of the band are off on personal explorations. With luck they will all come back together.

Well Ren ain't rich and he was less rich when Dignity was made he had to go out in the street and sing to eat that can be humiliating it can feel like begging to be a busker, but you gotta do it with dignity no matter how hungry you are. (i think that's why they're all skinny they got the hunger but they ain't gonna cheat, rob or steal. they got more dignity than thieves)
It’s not THAT deep. You are over thinking a beautiful song. Don’t try to put the whole song in REN’s perspective. My thoughts - It is a song that represents the band. The ‘pieces’ are their lyrics and music they scatter. They’ve each had to grind to gain their skills, perfect their craft, and work their way up. It hasn’t always been crowds cheering for them. But they respect their own talent and passion (despite the path they each had to take to get there) and they want to hold on to respecting that and respecting that they want to share that music it’s others. Think about it, Ren was signed to Sony and then lost his big chance because of the Lyme disease and then spent years just working on his music from his bedroom. Talk about feeling like you lost your self esteem! Who knows what the others went thru. No doubt they busked early on and no one listened or they had to play little gigs. The video illustrates them going from singing in a bar or on the streets and then to playing concerts at the beach and it culminates with them stepping out into a huge concert. It shows how far they came! The video may have been later but I believe the actual song was written fairly early in The Big Push’s career. I hope you watch the video again and instead of seeing a dark message, allow it to show you the sweet camaraderie of these talented guys. Honestly, this video warms my heart! I think it is a song that most all of us can relate to in our own lives.

I guess we were thinking most of the songs that are a little deeper and slower tuned we always took as he’s talking about his life and dark times kinda like NF. Dignity speaks to me. One of our favourites. Self esteem can take a dive periodically but holding on to dignity will keep you real and keep you rolling on through life.

Sweet little lady is such a fun song..I was listening to it earlier and think it is a bit of a a play on the word sweet..I appreciated so much the Dignity reaction as I feel so personally connected to it.. the funny thing is that I seem to have that effect on people with my deep thoughts so I wasn’t that surprised at your reaction..I know I😅 recommended it for this exact reason.. it is so important when you lose everything in life basically that means something to you to maintain your dignity seems far out of reach.. I think that is why people connect to this song.. honestly Ren had basically lost everything at one point being basically house bound in his 20’s and missing so much of his life while things went on outside his world.. I don’t think he ever expected what happened to him to happen.. even though he lost so much he found a way to retain his dignity and climb out of that dark place again and again only to emerge with the triumph of finally being recognized by his peers and fans touched by his struggle as well as fans that found The Big Push one of maybe the simplest and musically genuine and genius groups of its time.. Ren is currently in Canada getting medical attention. He originally planned to be there 6mos, but its looking more like a year before he can return. The rest of the band are off on personal explorations.

I know I am late to the party. ... My Favorite Big Push is "Praise You' Their harmonies are killer love 'What Kind Of Woman Is This live '. too .. Yes, Sweet Little Lady is awesome the live is better, but I love both versions because they are so different ... ... hope you do the other Sweet Little Lady version to...it is like an English punk rock style and the boys have allot of fun with the video ..., I do hope the guys gets back together after Ren is better to do a few jams .. they are way to good I like their off the wall videos to. fun to see where their imagination. takes them ... . I love Romain and Ren's jam live sessions they did on Ren's live stream awesome listen Romain solo stuff is amazing too I love him on the piano and I do like how the boys switch lead vocals at timesin the Big Push .. Gorran has nice voice too ,, On Spotify under the Big Push they have a live collection album of their live Busking songs love it and play it daily. The song Dignity I think it is Ren thinking at times he was not going to be around .. because of his illness he said he had some close calls and thought he would not make to 30 plus the band had a a small close out tour before their breakup before his treatments so glad Ren is doing better to continue to share his talent ...

Watch the Justin Halken interview and you will soon see why this song sounds like a goodbye to the band song . Ren has had many times he has thought he couldn't go on. We all hope those days are over ,and Ren finds the healing he needs . Don't despair though in that interview he was talking about a new album in the future and that's very good news .

He singing with his friends yeah it's a lil like begging so you gotta do it with humility, but there's pieces of him in every street corner that he sung. They hungry & it feels dirty sometimes bearing yourself open in the streets in front of strangers. It might hurt your self esteem. It's a grind and some of them got ground to dust. You gotta have some dignity to keep it together.

Well Ren ain't rich and he was less rich when Dignity was made he had to go out in the street and sing to eat that can be humiliating it can feel like begging to be a busker, but you gotta do it with dignity no matter how hungry you are. (i think that's why they're all skinny they got the hunger but they ain't gonna cheat, rob or steal. they got more dignity than thieves)

It’s not THAT deep. You are over thinking a beautiful song. Don’t try to put the whole song in REN’s perspective. My thoughts - It is a song that represents the band. The ‘pieces’ are their lyrics and music they scatter. They’ve each had to grind to gain their skills, perfect their craft, and work their way up. It hasn’t always been crowds cheering for them. But they respect their own talent and passion (despite the path they each had to take to get there) and they want to hold on to respecting that and respecting that they want to share that music it’s others.
Think about it, Ren was signed to Sony and then lost his big chance because of the Lyme disease and then spent years just working on his music from his bedroom. Talk about feeling like you lost your self esteem! Who knows what the others went thru. No doubt they busked early on and no one listened or they had to play little gigs.
The video illustrates them going from singing in a bar or on the streets and then to playing concerts at the beach and it culminates with them stepping out into a huge concert. It shows how far they came!
The video may have been later but I believe the actual song was written fairly early in The Big Push’s career. I hope you watch the video again and instead of seeing a dark message, allow it to show you the sweet camaraderie of these talented guys. Honestly, this video warms my heart!

Sorry I’m so late to responding BUT! They you for taking the time to give us your insight to look at it from a different perspective! I believe when we reacted to this it was shortly after we got a small rundown of Rens life, what he’s been through, and everything. I guess we were thinking most of the songs that are a little deeper and slower tuned we always took as he’s talking about his life and dark times kinda like NF. But I’m really glad you wrote all this so we can start listening and not go too deep. Or over think! Genuinely Thank you for that❤️
