  • @CaptainAlbatross
    @CaptainAlbatross Рік тому +633

Nirvana actually did way better. Buenos Aires, 1992, the entire crowd (50.000) were harassing the all-female opening act. Throwing stuff, remarks like “show us your t**s”, booing, the works.
After eventually wanting to cancel the gig, Kurt decided on going forth and botching the entire thing on purpose. Singing horribly, screaming random lyrics, playing obscure songs that no-one knew, doing the Smells Like-intro before EVERY song without even playing it once and destroying their gear after 40 minutes. Boss move.
Look it up, I believe the entire gig has been recorded and on UA-cam.

Unwritten rules are if someone goes down you pick em up back up. The ladies don't need to be sheltered in the pits (been to many many metal and punk shows over the past 30 years and they hold their own pretty well) If you see someone groping or sexually harrasing the ladies then by all means go no holds bar, if you see the ladies do it - call them out on it as well as it goes both ways. If someone is too inebriated - get some folks to help bring them out of the pit to security so they don't get trampled. The pit can be a dangerous place but generally everyone does look out for everyone else (except at hardcore shows - those folks get real violent).

It says a lot about the people who go to these concerts.
I wanted once to go to a Linkin Park concert. My friend who knew I was pretty religious convinced me to not go because people there are drunk, on drugs, and get in fights. My roommate said basically the same (I was in college back then).
A couple of years later I found another Linkin Park fan. She was a very nice girl and told me that Linkin Park fans are very nice people.
I think this (not going to that concert) is one of my biggest regrets in my life. I appreciate that these friends tried to protect me but, unfortunately, they judged a group of people without knowing them.

@@andrewgarcia5353 Lol. My own big sister, my very first rock show, which was BB, that she took me to in 2013, and I saw them again in 2019, and some guys came up to me, my sister, my then-girlfriend, and my sister's girlfriend, and I'm the only guy there out of the bunch but at the time I was only 15-16, and they were all adults.
Well, what happened was that the guys had approached my sister and had been saying stuff to her and girlfriend.
Eventually one of them decided to touch her, and I said, "Don't do that man. You do not want to do this right now."
I could clearly tell they were both wasted, but I wasn't backing down from that. The taller guy got in my face and said some stuff, but I said "Beat it, bud."
Then I pushed the guy into his friend and they both came at me, I ended up dropping both of them. My dad said to go straight for the nuts if anyone tried anything, and he trained me in karate and judo because he was a black belt in both.
So what happened was they both got thrown out after he gave them a verbal bashing and asked of we were all okay too. We just wanted to watch a show and after seeing that everything was fine again, we went on with the show.
Any other concerts I've been to since then, especially rock, I have my head on a swivel and always make sure that there's drunks accounted for that are not trying to cop a feel.

You're right, You're gonna get touched in the butt or whatever. Now another different thing is that they grope you in an inappropriate way when you are crowd diving. Like guys trying to take women's clothes off, or guys trying to reach chicks' breasts. You may have accidentally touched a woman's butt in crowd diving but don't be a monster when it comes to taking advantage of the situation. We have to respect each other. Take care of the bodies of others. It's like in the Mosh pit. If one falls, everyone stops until they get up and the party can continue.

But then co-frontman Guy Picciotto said he saw the abuser outside before the show eating ice cream with his buddy, and how he’s trying to act all tough now. He ended it with “ice cream eating motherfucker.” Funniest shit ever.

Well I always hated the term sexual assault. It's a broad thing that includes groping, touching (in any area of the body), and even dry humping is in that umbrella as well.
And yet, sexual harassments also always included groping or the spoken words that they'd grope someone or say anything about the other person's body.

I've heard crazy stuff from that show. But the earlier Woodstock's also had crazy stuff happen. That's why they stopped the shows, because they didn't have enough security, and the fans were getting too crazy. Especially the guys. It's that heard/pack mentality with some guys. It's those guys that are the easiest to beat up though. And ironically the easiest to back-down from a fight.

Apparently, never been verified, but there were many many girls being groped and even some who were r**ed throughout the show.
