- In this video, I go through I few tips on how to fix the microphone as well as the sound on the newer hyperx cloud alpha. I ran into the same trouble first when I picked these up. I hope this helps! Thank you for watching.

my sound works but no my Microphone
I had the same issue, I recommend to unconnect all the cables and reinsert them ALL THE WAY in, you have to use quite a bit of force actually. This did the job for me, I now have mic and sound.

@Alexasa 1 Hi, sorry if I'm unclear (I'm not a native English speaker). I mean that you pull every possible cord out of their place; if you have the two-ended extension cord for seperate mic and headphone input especially that connection can be a bit loose from the headphone-end (also remember remove the microphone). Then put them all back together again making sure they are fitted properly. Sounds really basic (and to be honest, also is). I find that these cables are easily actually not connected properly when you just plug them in as you normally would and this way does not provide proper connection.

Yeah try all the steps in the video. Make sure on whatever device you're using that the mic is on. Also make sure it isn't muted on the cord.
The cord wasn’t plugged in until dark grey, thank you. It worked
I literally just had to click the splitter with the cord ( i thought it was in) and it fixed the issue of the mic picking up my output sound so far! Thank you!!

is that the headset’s mic you’re using? if so then thats nice cause mine has like a static noise in the background and its annoying whenever i record gameplays
Mine does the exact same thing when I plug it in directly to the microphone jack on my pc. Since I mostly use my xbox controller, I plug it in through that and put that as my microphone! I don't get any noise that way. You can even just not use your controller but just have it plugged in for the mic. Bit of a mess around but it works.

I just got these new headphones and mic didn't work.. and on top of that, my day was really incredible shitty so basically only bright side was these new headphones which didn't work as it was suppose to work..

I can hear and talk with my mic but the thing is my mic is low like I can hear perfectly fine but when I talk my friends say that my mic is low, I put my mic all they way up on the settings but no difference

yo i got a problem. i bought the alpha yesterdays and its working fine, but when im in discord or something else where i speak with my friends they hear everything i do on my desktop, like hearing my music or video sound..you got any tips?
Hmm not quite sure. The alphas do tend to have a sensitive mic and my friends often here gameplay coming through my mic from the earphones. Im not sure if you maybe have your sound going through your mic on your pc.
Turn on Acoustic Echo Cancellation in your sound settings, it will fix it. What it is is crosstalk and it is not the Mic that is picking up the sound its just the way its wired. You can also turn on Acoustic Echo Cancellation in discord but its best to just take care of the issue so you never have to deal with it agian.
'Acoustic Echo Cancellation' will stop the crosstalk I had to troubleshoot for 3 days to figure out what it was since it was before anyone had anything posted but this video is just like wtf? what in it is useful?
What is the best settings for this hyper x alpha on the speaker properties. Could u help me out with that? like checking the equalizer and loudness equalization? Thanks

I had mic but no sound
So there is no hyperx microphone under the recording tab of the control panel? just the default version. Just to confirm

My headset has issues. somtimes when i play discord and sometimes even the game goes really echoey and it sounds like the people i am talking to are in another room its really annoying and sometimes i cant hear them over the game sound do you have any solution to that?

i got this headset for pc gaming, i got the mic and the headset to work but whenever i’m in discord and i’m playing a game, everyone i’m in a call with can hear what i’m playing, do you know what’s otg?
I have the cloud alphas and people on my team and in discord can hear my ingame sound and I cant seem to get a fix. Thinking of buying a different brand, or the cloud 2's.
you must plug your headset behind your pc instead of the front panel

I had this same issue, i unplugged the splitter from the cord and plugged it back in hard until i heard and felt a click and that seems to have madea difference for me so far :) Maybe try that?

Hey so my mic works on my phone etc, but when I plug it into my Xbox 3.5mm port it doesn't work . I've only had it for a week and took good care. I went to eat came back and the mic don't work on my controller. I'm thinking it may be my jack port on Xbox controller? Any thoughts?

Oh my goodness... I literally spent like an hour doing everything I could.I updated all my drivers and screwed around with settings for so long. Watched this and just pushed the cable a bit further in and reconnected it to my computer and now no issue whatsoever

Thank you so much you’re the man I was just about to return this since it was delivered and just left in front of my house for over 24 hours in -20C weather so I assumed that was why My sound was:
1. Terrible and muffled
2. Only came out of the right side
Turns out I was just being an idiot and plugged the wrong side of the cord(gray side) into my phone and vice versa. Thank you a ton sir you saved me a lot of hassle.

My laptop detects the headphones and stuff and i plug it in to the full and when i use the headphones on my phone they work perfectly fine but when i use it on my laptop they just don't work and i don't know what to do
Everything is pushed in properly I've updated the firmwave. The microphone works on PC but when I try use it on PS4 it does not work. I have powered off my PS4 and turned it back on twice, but it still doesn't work. Please help.
im using hyperx cloud core wired and for some reason, first time plugging it in everything was super quiet and sounds like im in a fishbowl.. unsure how to fix that but also my microphone connected to the headset wont show up anywhere nor am i able to use it not even in sound panel someone help plz

make sure the button(the phisical one) to mute mic is turned off. I spend like 1 hour pluging and unplugin jacks.... Forgot to check if this button is toggled....

Yeah I returned them and got some Astro A10’s they are much better and don’t pick up background noise the sound it’s very similar too not much different
its bc of the holes on top of the ear cups
People are saying my microphone echos .. I just got these after having the cloud 2s expecting the same quality, have had no issues with the cloud 2s

I am so nervous, just received the hyperx cloud alpha, plugged the cables right way in, fully in. I dont have a sound card, got integrated. plugged at the back of the pc, then tried at the front, the sound is AWFUL. the mic doesnt even work. The sound is cracky as heck, sometimes it sounds like someone is beign sucked in or sounds like a robot. i restarted pc many times, and when not listening to anything, i can hear background noise all the time. Please someone help D: when i plug the headset in, i get asus realtek pop up window. when i press to do a sound test it checks both sides of the speakers on my headset. When i have a video or music on the background, i can actually hear the sound clearly, then it goes back to muffly and crackly and horrible... im so confused!
sounds like you need a better MB or just get a USB DAC.
I mean any newer decent gaming mobos will have pretty good sound built in and itll be enough to power the headset to as loud as you will ever need. At 50% its already crazy loud for me in Overwatch and same with youtube videos,ect.
So Im thinking it is your DAC on the MB that is faulty. Try testing the headset at a friends house or on your phone.
mine for some reason says "input" instead of microphone and the icon is bunch of cables. My mic is not working because of this.

I have a problem with mine. I think I needed an adapter, so I bought a 3.55 mm jack and it's still not working. The quality of the sound is poor (with the adapter) and the mic STILL does not work. I use the extension cord and I'm not sure which adapter to use. Any suggestions?
Yes adapters tend to lower quality it seems, at least in my experience! What system are you using it on?

Somehow my cable that connected to the headset wasn't in all the way... enough that i could hear audio perfectly, but not quite enough for the mic to work. Got real worried my mic just died on me a few months in.

The mic is noisy as fuck, tried one two desktops (front and back jacks), four laptops - all the fucking same.
Addendum, if I get an external sound card and install drivers and restart, it works. Tested on a desktop and a laptop. Somehow, if you do the ritual mentioned above (and get the additional hw) it works fine and even the mic is clear. So I am thinking there is a weird thing going on in the driver department as the heaphones don't even show up otherwise in win10 as a separate device. ...With that being said, with all that done the sound is marvellous and the mic works fine.
i think you have beam forming turned on, i was messing around with the settings and i turned on beam forming while listening to my audio, and it sounded HORRIBLE. So, turn beam forming off if you have it. to find it, you have to go to the sounds, then to the recording, then click on whatever the hyperx cloud alpha mic is connected to, then click properties and go to enhancements. hope this helped even though i'm 6 months late.

No settings, just plugged and played. Make sure everything is connected correctly. I noticed on my laptop the mic sounded very bad but my pc and xbox sounds perfect. Could be a faulty plug in of some sort.

I bought this headset without realising it was 3.5mm and not USB. So far the Audio works, and when I "test" my microphone, I can hear myself perfectly fine. However, when I record using GeForce Experience it doesn't pick this audio up. Any ideas what could be the issues? Also, will the Cloud II USB Soundcard be compatible with the Alpha if I don't use the Spliter cable?
Im not sure about that geforce exp problem but yea that usb sound card from the cloud 2 works, they have a newer version called "hyperx amp usb". Idk if there's sound quality improvement, but both are same product with a bit difference in looks. I jus got my alphas and they sound horrible and muffled thru my mobo. Ima buy one of those usb and hopefully boost quality.

Probably try the hard reset. This mic will be your default device as it doesn't plug in through USB.
for fix go to realtek microphone and put the noise suppression and the acoustic echo cancelllation ON i have cloud silver and this Fix the problem of my friends listen all of my sounds on windows, youtube, games....

My mic was fine last time after fixing it in many many different applications, now i factory reset my pc. It went back to back to being loud, not pickup up some audio, picking up headset audio, bass boosted sounding, etc. Have to try and fix it again.
